
Dealing & Healing With Rejection - Meditation

We all feel and face rejection in our life. In our job, our relationships and any other area of our life. With this meditation, we will give space to your hurt self and go to the root cause of tackling the resistance to the feeling of rejection. This can be a powerful release if you surrender to it! Welcome to this dealing with rejection meditation.
So just close your eyes and start to get comfortable.
Softening the edges of your eyes.
Slowly breathing through your nose.
Unclenching and relaxing your jaw.
Dropping your shoulders.
Letting go of that tension in your shoulders.
Breathing in slowly.
As you breathe in,
Feel your ribs flare out on the in-breath and contract on the out-breath.
Just paying attention to that sensation as you start to settle into this present moment.
Leaving behind all stresses,
Any to-do lists and just being here.
And now focus your attention on the area of your heart as you breathe in and out.
Just focus on the sensations in your heart as your body relaxes some more.
We all experience rejection at different points in our life and it can be very painful,
Very disappointing,
Very difficult to deal with.
But if we know who we are,
If we know our worth,
We can work through this much easier.
But if we still struggle with rejection,
That's okay.
It just means there are some parts of us that we haven't fully integrated and now it's a great opportunity to do so.
So that we can tap into the abundant and loving life that we deserve.
So starting to integrate this rejection,
This can be anything from the past or something that happened more recently that has been on your mind a lot.
You don't need to pick,
This will come up as it's meant to.
So first of all,
Just paying attention to your body and seeing if you can pick up the rejection in your body.
Where does the rejection manifest in your body?
Is there tension in your jaw when you think and feel into this rejection?
Maybe a weakness in your neck or a tension in your shoulders?
Just scan and don't judge what is here.
The idea is to gain awareness because with the awareness we can then release it.
Just scan what is here in your body and feel,
Allow yourself to feel.
If you're like me,
I know that you've been shutting off these feelings because they're difficult to deal with.
The only way to get to inner peace and our abundant loving life is through facing these feelings.
They are not your enemies,
They are your guide.
And they are not even inconveniences.
These feelings,
These tensions are supposed to happen.
They are a natural response.
When you know how to take care of them and how to give them the space and the tension they need,
That's when they don't stay around as long.
So now it's your chance to listen.
Where does the disappointment and the rejection sit in your body?
Because you give yourself permission to feel.
This may feel strange at times,
But you know exactly what to do.
Your inner wisdom knows exactly what to do.
That voice in your head that wrestles with the rejection,
That is so deeply disappointed,
Does that voice remind you of the five-year-old you that was so deeply disappointed,
That was so hurt by rejection?
It never left,
And all it wants is to be loved.
So when it faces situations where it's not loved,
It tries to resist and tries to get you to do everything just so you can finally feel loved.
Take a moment and give space to this voice of the inner child.
And if you like,
Repeat with me.
You are seen.
I see you.
I hear you.
I understand.
I understand that you're hurt.
But you are loved.
Right now,
In this moment,
Without any conditions,
I love you as you are.
I know that sometimes you just want to scream at me and tell me to just pay attention and to finally just love you.
Well now is the moment.
You are loved right now.
Thank you.
You can let go.
We've got this.
If there's anything else you would like to say to this voice of your inner child,
You can do so now.
It feels good to reconnect without all this resistance in a place of innocence and compassion.
As painful as these things can be for us if they don't work out,
A rejection at work,
A rejection in relationships,
Various types of disappointments,
We can trust that something better is on the way for us,
That it wasn't meant to be and we have an abundance of opportunity ahead of us.
Other people also have this voice in their head that screams at them to be loved.
And if they don't know and if they can't connect to the feeling of already being enough in this moment,
They may act in ways that you can't understand,
That you deem as unfair or mean or cruel.
But they are also scared and they just want to be loved.
They just don't know how.
So they try everything they can,
Just like we do.
To find that the ladder is up against the wrong wall.
And if we come to a place of self-compassion and self-love,
We don't need to constantly be climbing these ladders.
Of course it's a journey and we all have things to work through.
But in this moment,
In every present moment,
We have the chance to reconnect with this feeling of being loved,
Of compassion for that five year old voice in us that just wants us to be safe and loved.
We misunderstand it as this inner critic that we just want to shut up,
That is making us suffer.
And is only doing that because we're not listening.
We're not taking the time to just sit in stillness and let the answers come from within.
Making sure that your shoulders are relaxed.
Breathing slowly and mindfully.
Because you have created this connection and this peaceful place right now,
You may ask for any more guidance that you may need.
You may listen for any more answers from within that you may need to hear right now.
This is your sacred connection.
The place where you realise that the answers were never outside of you,
But always within.
Reading that on a motivational quote sounds nice,
But really sitting here as you're doing right now and sensing this inner wisdom,
That's a whole different experience.
Finally I'd like you to reflect on one more question.
In what way are you rejecting and disappointing yourself?
Because it's easy to externalise the rejection and the disappointment and blame others for rejecting and disappointing us.
But if we just look within and we have the courage to do that,
Can we see any ways in which we also reject ourselves?
Maybe not being true to who we really are,
Rejecting our feelings,
Rejecting that intuition,
That voice from within.
Because the outside world is often just a mirror.
So now,
Coming back to the sound of my voice,
Taking in a deep breath through your nose and out through your nose,
Start to bring attention to your body again as it's resting where you are.
Shaking your ankles and flexing your feet.
And just bringing that awareness up your legs to your hips.
So now bring that awareness to your chest,
To your shoulders.
If you like shaking your hands and arms,
Feeling awake and refreshed,
And opening your eyes when you are ready.
