In this soothing meditation, you'll be gently guided to release financial worries that may be weighing you down. By focusing on regulating your nervous system, this practice provides an opportunity to explore a holistic approach to managing financial anxiety. Through mindful body awareness, grounding techniques, and holding space for your emotions, you may find yourself easing into a state of calm and confidence around financial matters. Whether you're facing uncertainty or simply seeking peace from daily money worries, this meditation offers the chance to reclaim a sense of balance and inner stability. Try to stay open and curious throughout the practice, knowing that you can always return to it whenever needed. It's much more effective to hold space for your worries than to try and 'resolve them'. Welcome to this meditation for nervous system grounding and support with financial fears,
Worries,
Anxiety.
So first of all,
Just get grounded in this moment,
Noticing any surfaces that are supporting you,
Feeling the contact,
What that feels like,
Anchoring you in this moment,
Becoming aware of your breathing,
How it's flowing naturally and where you notice the sensations of your breath,
Making a mental note of what qualities you're picking up,
Shallow,
Deep,
Fast,
Slow,
And without wanting to change it,
Seeing if your breath changes at all as you ground here more and more,
Truly arriving in this moment,
Aware of your senses,
What you can taste,
What you can hear,
Without labeling any of it,
Just picking up what is around you,
All signaling safety in this moment,
And also awakening a sense of curiosity.
It's funny how curiosity has the word cure in it,
So without putting too much pressure on ourself to cure anything today,
To get rid of anything,
Just being curious,
Maybe that can be your goal for this session,
Knowing that of course you care and you want to feel better but at the same time you trust that your body and your system has its own timing and the wisdom and intelligence of Mother Earth,
Of life,
Flows through you,
So just being curious how she is guiding you,
How life is guiding you,
As in this session we will develop a trust in that flow,
And then just observe your breath as it flows naturally,
Watching your belly rise and fall.
I created this track because it's a very important topic for myself and for the world I feel.
For myself,
I have been quite triggered around this for some time,
Really affecting my nervous system to the extent that I internalized this message of everything will get worse and got sort of crippled by the fear around so many expenses in my life and what feels like so little coming in,
That quite naturally my nervous system and my survival system raised the alarm of like,
Hang on a minute,
If we want to survive,
And money is survival these days in some ways,
This equation doesn't make sense,
I need to rev up the engine to generate more to secure my survival in future,
So maybe you can relate to that.
In addition,
What you also may be able to relate to but what was quite extreme for me is whenever I would go shopping,
I would then get almost a mild panic attack or a strong feeling of activation and suffocation,
Because I felt,
Oh,
Another expense,
Another expense,
I can't do this,
It's risking my survival.
So I hope that this track will support you in the same way that this technique and method has supported me on my journey,
Because ultimately when we're in survival mode and our nervous system is activated,
That affects all areas of our life,
Our physical health,
Our mental health,
Our happiness,
Enjoyment of life and the way we relate to others if we're in social engagement mode or if we're closed off,
Angry,
Not in a good mood,
And surely that can't really be helping the evolution and thriving of our species.
Money is survival these days as most of us don't generate our own food,
Electricity,
Water,
If any at all,
Many of us are completely dependent on exchanging money for services and goods.
Money is also autonomy and risk reduction,
So when there's a potential of not having that resource available,
It can be extremely activating for our nervous system,
As that would literally mean not being able to survive.
Think of it like cavemen,
Because in some way we still very much are.
Biologically speaking,
We haven't evolved so much from that time.
If we hear the news that our main food source may go extinct due to an illness,
But we don't know when and we don't know how bad it's going to be,
If really all animals,
Really all of the food source is going to go or just a little bit,
Is it going to be in two weeks time,
Is it going to be in 10 years time,
We don't know but we fear that it's going to happen and everyone around us is telling us,
Oh it's coming up,
It's coming up,
Get ready it's coming up.
This creates a feeling of out of our control,
This situation is out of our control,
That's why it's so scary and anxiety fills that space,
Trying to find solutions and trying to get us ready and that doesn't feel good,
Because if a threat is present in the moment,
We tend to just get on with it.
So it might be that we're already experiencing some financial issues,
But it's not bad enough for us not to worry as much and just get on with it,
We're still worrying about it about it getting worse at some point.
As I mentioned,
This creates a feeling of being out of control and I feel that it helps to gain awareness around what is in our control and what is out of our control.
What is out of my control?
What's happening in the world is out of my control.
What others do,
Their reaction to what I do,
Is out of my control.
The financial,
Political situation is out of my control.
What can I control?
What can I control?
I can control how I care for myself,
How I care for my environment.
I can control how I show up,
I can control what I give,
What I give to life.
There's a beautiful quote,
Something along the lines of,
If you want something,
You must first give it away.
I can control the choices that I make from the choices that I can make.
So in order to work with anxiety,
Fear around financials,
It's really important to get clear around the root fear and not just intellectually but also on a body level so we can bring into awareness what is slumbering in our system,
Calling for our attention.
We might be distracting ourselves,
We might be pushing it away,
Not seeing it clearly so it needs to communicate in louder ways,
Leading to more intense behavior,
Thoughts,
Emotions.
So tune into that fear that you have around finances.
Where do you pick it up in your body?
Really shine the light of your kind,
Caring awareness on those sensations.
As we said at the beginning,
Being here with a curious approach.
With the trust that on some level this is trying to help you even if it feels uncomfortable,
Terrifying,
Suffocating.
It's part of you so it's also part of your mechanism to survive and thrive.
And as you feel this in the body,
I would invite you to ask a very simple question.
What are you scared of?
What are you worried about would happen if you didn't do what you do?
And then listen.
Allowing all feelings,
Sensations,
All of it to flow as you hold with your caring and kind awareness.
Really letting that part of you speak.
Knowing that if it gets too intense you can always focus on your breath to ground a little more in this moment.
And then check in again when you're ready.
What are you scared of?
What are you worried about would happen if you didn't do what you do?
What are you worried about would happen if you didn't do what you do?
Is there anything else connected to this that you're worried about?
Really letting that internal world of yours speak as you listen as good as you can.
We're looking for curiosity,
Not perfection.
And then see if that part of you,
These different parts of you that you're picking up within you that have expressed their fears,
If they're aware that you are here,
You being your more grounded self that is holding everything with its awareness.
Your wider awareness as I like to say.
And how does it feel knowing that you are here?
How does that feel for your system?
If you're not able to tune into that,
Just really focus on your feet,
The sensations,
And your breath flowing gently until you're feeling a bit more grounded and can get a better sense of your grounded self being here.
Then get curious how your system feels to become aware of this.
And how do you feel towards all of this worry that you've heard?
Would you like to express compassion?
Understanding?
And how do you feel about all of this?
Would you like to express compassion?
Understanding?
Kindness?
What is true for you?
How do you want to turn towards that fear and anxiety within you?
What would you like to give it?
It could also be something physical like a hug,
Stroking of the hand or body,
And checking in with your system how that feels.
For those parts of you to be soothed,
Held,
Not alone.
However scary those fears are,
That doom that anticipates,
Not alone,
Cared for and held.
Absolutely self-resourced.
One of my favorite sayings is,
The only security in life is the trust in yourself.
When it comes to fears around money in the future,
Anxiety,
Essentially we want to restore more trust in our future self.
Because on some level we're not trusting that our future self will be able to cope,
Hold,
Navigate the situation that we imagine might happen.
But who can be more trusted than a more grounded version of you that is here,
Holding all of you at all times.
Even when clouds make things tricky and you feel like you don't have access to this grounded sense of you,
The sun is always there behind the clouds.
And if you just make a bit of space,
The clouds can shift and you can soak up that warm air and the warmth of the sun.
That warming,
Caring goodness.
So knowing that this is within you and viscerally feeling that groundedness that you are at the core.
How do you feel about your future now?
Maybe you remember a few things such as that many things you worried about in the past never happened that way.
Somehow you found a way through.
From this place I remember the true riches of life.
Connection to myself.
Connection to others.
And connection to nature.
Good health.
Somehow just finding your way through.
That's very simple.
I don't need many financials to embrace those days.
True riches.
They can be there for me as long as I'm alive.
And even if on some areas I feel like I'm not that rich for those things.
I know that every day I'm aligning with an awareness of what the true riches are.
And calling more of that into my life.
You always have the opportunity to come back to what is true in this moment.
Are the assumptions that you've made and that you're making,
Are they true in this moment?
The only thing that is true is what is here and now.
Maybe you can also use that energy of fear and anxiety to fuel you,
To give you more drive,
To give and to create,
To provide things for this world,
To make your life the way that you want it to be,
To make it the most glorious,
Life that you can create.
In that sense that energy is no longer a problem and it never was.
Just a part of you that's concerned,
Letting you know that it's concerned.
The question is then how do you respond,
How do you hold that and what do you do with it?
If anything at all.
Also remembering that what I focus on is what I call in.
So if I'm focusing on the doom as much as those parts of me may not intend for that outcome,
I'm drawing more of that into my reality.
So shifting your focus on what you want to see,
How you want to be living,
How you want to feel.
Let's briefly do that.
Tune in to how you want to feel around financials in the future.
Knowing that you're grounded,
You're resilient.
How does it feel to live as that version of you?
You may even want to see yourself living that life.
You may even want to see yourself living the life that you want to live.
How does it feel to live as that version of you?
You may even want to see yourself living that life and really feel what that feels like emotionally.
If it feels light,
What does it feel like to be you in the future?
What do you want to call in?
Aligning with flow,
Always having what you need.
Maybe seeing that desire is for excess and not necessarily for the good.
Maybe it's not necessarily needed or even based on your grounded self.
But having more of a sense of already being whole as you're grounded in this moment.
Some desires may fall away because some fear may also be around not having those things and therefore not being whole,
Not being loved,
Being alone,
Being rejected.
And lastly,
Tuning into gratitude for everything that is present in your life,
In the future,
But also now.
Just feeling that gratitude.
Just feeling that gratitude.
Gosh,
I'm rich.
Knowing that every day,
Every moment is a true gift from life as you navigate what comes with flow,
Resilience,
Trust,
Gratitude,
And joy.
Then coming back to the sensations in your body,
Seeing how you feel now.
It's really important to track any changes so that you know what supports you and what doesn't.
And also for your reward-based learning to see when something is making you feel good and also for your reward-based learning to see when something is making a difference,
Which will then make it more likely for you to seek it out again.
Checking in with your shoulders,
Your jaw,
Your face,
Your arms,
Reaching all the way into the fingertips of both hands.
Then let your awareness travel down your body until you reach your toes.
And then reaching a whole body awareness grounded in this moment,
Alive and ready to live.
