To relax – to TRULY relax – you need more than physical relaxation. You need to relax the mind and to calm your emotions. This short guided relaxation allows you to relax your mind quickly, easily and effortlessly so that you can relax deeply. You’ll also be guided to create + rehearse a mental picture of you feeling the change you want to create. You’ll emerge feeling lighter, calmer and more focused on what you want to achieve. Welcome.

This is Fela Wand,

New Zealand's trusted internal conflict resolution expert.

And I'm delighted to bring to you this short guided audio relaxation to help you relax the mind.

To relax the mind so that you're in a state of hyper focused awareness where you can make anything happen inside your mind.

And this happens naturally.

And in this state you can suspend disbelief.

Whatever positive thing you imagine about the way you want to be is accepted as real and true.

And when you combine focused awareness and suspending disbelief,

Your mind is receptive to the changes you want to be or feel.

See,

The brain does not know the difference between real and imaginary.

You can have a thought or imagine an event and your body believes you.

When you imagine what it feels like to feel better,

Your brain is rehearsing the state of mind.

Mental rehearsal is an example of neuroplasticity in practice.

This mental rehearsal piece is something that all top performers are taught.

Create a mental picture and then embody it.

All Olympic athletes are taught this in some form,

Shape or another.

Practice how you want to be.

Brain regions fire up as if you're actually doing it.

And as you learn to focus the mind with this technique,

You can create new responses to old situations that cause you stress.

So when you're ready to make this happen for you and to relax the mind like never before,

Just get comfortable.

However,

You're doing this practice,

Please don't cross the legs.

Choose a focal point,

A spot to stare at.

Soften your gaze.

Diffuse your eyes.

And as you soften your gaze,

Take a moment.

And I'm going to count down from 10 to one.

With each countdown,

Allow every muscle to grow more and more comfortable.

And imagine seeing the numbers fading and relaxing right out of your mind.

Go ahead and close your eyes.

Think to yourself 10.

Imagine a wave of relaxation moving down your body.

Imagine the number 10 fading or relaxing out of your mind.

Some people visualizing it growing dim or distant.

Open your eyes to quickly close your eyes.

Think nine.

Imagine another wave of relaxation moving through your body.

The number nine fading or relaxing out of your mind.

You open your eyes.

You close your eyes.

Eight.

And another wave.

Another wave of comfort moving down your body.

The number fading,

Growing dim and distant.

Open your eyes.

Close your eyes.

Seven.

And another wave.

That wave of comfort sinking you deeper.

And the number seven fading,

Growing dim and distant.

Open your eyes.

Close your eyes.

Think to yourself six.

As another wave of comfort and relaxation sweeps all over the body.

And that number grows dim and distant and fades right out of the mind.

Open the eyes.

Close the eyes.

Five.

Just allowing that wave of comfort and relaxation to go anywhere it needs to go in the body.

And that number fades right out of the mind.

That's right.

Open the eyes.

Close the eyes.

And four.

Allowing the relaxation to sink to any part of your body that needs more comfort,

More ease,

More warmth.

And that number fades right out of the mind.

Open the eyes.

Close the eyes.

Three.

Even more comfort sinking in with the next wave of relaxation.

And the number fades,

Grows dim and distant.

Open the eyes.

Close the eyes.

Two.

Another wave of relaxation.

The number fades.

And as the number fades,

Even more comfort sinking in.

Relaxing a bit more.

Relaxing,

Getting even more comfortable.

Open the eyes.

Close the eyes.

One.

Just let that settle in for a moment.

Even in that relaxed state,

You have more power than you think.

You can have a thought.

You can make a suggestion.

And the body believes you.

Just take your attention now to those legs.

Just imagine those legs are so comfortable,

So full of relaxation.

They're so heavy.

What would it feel like if those legs were so heavy and so full of relaxation like Lent?

Or like when you're sleeping?

Imagine that.

But more importantly,

Think the suggestion to yourself.

Think to yourself,

My legs are so heavy.

When you think that thought inside your mind,

My legs are so heavy.

Notice that your legs believe you.

Take a moment and notice the heaviness.

Some people notice that heaviness even more when they try to lift one of those legs.

They can sense how much heavier they feel.

Notice that those legs are so heavy,

They just won't lift.

Your body always believes you.

Always.

And now imagine a movie screen in your mind.

However you want to imagine this movie screen is totally fine.

So the thing with this movie screen is that you have total control of the movie,

The scenes,

And the happy ending.

So go ahead and make a movie of how you want to be or how you want to feel.

And then when you're happy with the creation inside your mind,

See yourself in that movie.

See yourself the way you want to be,

The way you want to feel.

Just for a moment,

Feeling those good feelings,

Whatever those good feelings are that you want to feel or experience.

So just floating into the movie,

Right into the body of the actor playing you on the screen.

Feeling those good positive feelings.

Let your brain try it on.

Practice how you want to be.

Practice how you want to feel.

And then after marinating in those positive feelings and positive behaviors for a while,

Just bringing those feelings with you and floating back out of the movie and into your physical body and noticing what it's like to be connected to your internal resources and your internal super power.
