A gentle ritual for those bleeding with the full moon. This meditation invites you into your womb space at the start of your cycle, guiding you to connect with your body, release gently, and reflect on what’s rising. Inclusive of all womb journeys, this practice honours the Red Moon Cycle and the wisdom of bleeding in the light.

Hello and welcome,

This is a space for all wombs,

Whether you bleed monthly,

Have stopped bleeding,

Have never bled,

Or no longer have the physical womb at all.

You are all welcome here.

We speak today of cycles,

But not all cycles flow at the same time,

And not all moon times arrive with blood,

And not all bleeding happens in silence.

This is for anyone whose womb holds memory,

Energy,

Or emotion,

Whether physical or energetic.

You're not too much,

And you're not behind,

Your rhythm belongs here.

Today we enter the cycle through a particular portal,

The start of your bleed.

This is a moment that often arrives quietly,

But holds enormous power.

Menstruation is not just a release of blood,

It's your body's built-in exhale.

It's a letting go that is both physiological and emotional.

It's also energetic and ancestral.

So at the very beginning of your bleed,

Your body already knows what to do.

The shedding has begun,

The softening has started,

And you don't need to have to make anything happen.

You're simply invited to just witness it.

So let's take this moment to check in,

And learn a little bit more about our cycle.

During this time,

Our hormones like estrogen and progesterone drop,

And our nervous system may begin to shift into rest,

Where tension might ease,

And emotions may surface.

You may feel tired,

Raw,

Spacious,

Or nothing at all.

Whatever you feel,

It's so welcome here.

When you connect with your body at the start of your bleed,

You enter the cycle with presence rather than resistance,

And you honour what is already happening,

Instead of pushing through or numbing out.

This is not about doing it right,

It's about making contact.

You might place your hands over your womb,

And you might breathe deeper into your belly,

And you might simply say to yourself,

I am here now.

So because how you begin your bleed often shapes the rest of your cycle,

A harsh beginning can ripple outward,

And a gentle beginning creates space,

Softness,

And trust.

If you're someone who bleeds with the full moon,

This is for you.

This rhythm,

Known by some of the red moon cycle,

Means that your body is shedding under the light,

While your fertile energy grows in the dark.

It's a powerful reversal,

And it may bring intensity,

Emotion,

And heightened sensitivity.

The full moon reflects everything that wants to be seen,

And your body releases what it no longer needs.

So let's just start by arriving in the body,

In whatever state it's already in.

You don't need to feel grounded yet,

Because there's no pressure to immediately feel connected to your womb.

Let's take a breath,

In through the nose.

I want you to place your hands over your womb.

And as you're connecting with your womb,

Remind yourself that this is the center of creation.

Emotion,

Power,

And memory.

Let's take some time to allow your awareness to just rest there.

It's normal if your mind wanders,

Just bring your attention back to the contact,

To the warmth,

To the breath.

Now since you're bleeding with the full moon,

You're in a cycle that reflects light while shedding deeply.

It's less common than bleeding with the new moon,

But it's no less powerful.

This rhythm is sometimes called the red moon cycle.

When you bleed under the full moon,

You may notice a tension,

Where your body wants to slow down,

But the energy around you is bright,

Expressive,

And even wild.

You might feel more emotional,

More social,

Or intuitive,

And perhaps even more exposed.

That's estrogen and progesterone doing its thing,

As they're the lowest during menstruation.

This dip can make you feel tender,

Tired,

Or raw.

But,

The full moon's light pulls things to the surface,

And it can stir insight,

Restlessness,

Or emotional release.

This duality is not a problem,

It's actually a dynamic.

It's a dance between the inward and the outward energy.

This cycle often means that ovulation is happening on the new moon,

When the world is quiet,

And your creative,

Fertile energy is moving unseen.

It's a rhythm that doesn't always match the external world,

But it's still deeply intelligent.

What feels like it's rising to the surface in your life right now?

What are you seeing more clearly under the light of this full moon?

And what are you letting go of,

Even if you don't fully understand it yet?

Well,

There are no right answers,

Only honest ones.

So,

Just allow whatever to come up to arrive gently.

Now,

For some,

This timing is familiar,

And for others,

It may feel new,

Confusing,

Or even surprising.

There is space for all of that.

You don't need to map it all out today,

And you don't have to know what it really means.

You've just made contact with your womb,

And that is enough.

If your hands are still resting on your belly,

You can begin to release them,

And maybe offer a quiet thank you to your body for showing up,

And also to your womb space for holding so much.

And most importantly,

To yourself for choosing to pause and listen in a world that often asks you to push through.

If it feels right,

You can close this space with a small promise,

Whether it be,

I will keep paying attention,

Even when I don't understand,

Or even when I forget.

Whatever it may be,

Just let the moon do what it does,

Let it rise and fall,

And trust that your body is doing the same in its own rhythm.

Whenever you are ready to return,

I want to remind you,

You're not behind,

And you're not off course.

You are in this cycle,

And you are in this relationship with your body,

And you are most definitely in motion.
