Welcome to episode 6 of my Tiny Talks focused on Dementia.
And today we focus on balancing emotions with traditional Chinese medicine.
A healthy,
Balanced,
Emotional life is one of the essentials of living a good life.
Whether you are hoping to prevent dementia,
Or you suspect or have dementia,
Or you care for someone with dementia,
These tips from traditional Chinese medicine will help you balance and release stored emotions.
I'll briefly describe the Yin organs,
That are all paired with a Yang organ,
The axis of emotions that will be stored in them,
And what lifestyle changes will help you to restore balance.
The heart.
A balanced heart leads to experiencing joy and love.
Hatred,
Impatience and hastiness are stored in the heart when not fully processed.
To create more balance you can limit screen use in the evenings,
And instead be creative,
Start a new hobby or meet with friends.
The lungs.
Grief and sadness are stored in the lungs.
They may block feelings of courageousness and righteousness.
Lungs can be balanced by taking early morning walks,
Breathing in the fresh air,
And practicing breathing awareness.
Liver.
Feelings of anger and stress are stored in the liver.
Road rage is an example of stagnation in the liver.
Balance it out by eating your greens,
Uncluttering your house,
Your mind,
Your administration etc.
And participating in medium to high intensity exercises.
The spleen.
In the spleen we store an axis of worries and doubts.
To assist the spleen for optimal functioning and releasing such feelings,
You may avoid cold drinks,
Do some weight training,
And eat regular meals with attention.
And finally the kidneys.
The kidneys are linked to brain health.
Fear,
Especially of future events,
Is stored in the kidneys.
It helps to warm them up with warm drinks,
Hot baths and massages.
