Welcome.
Let's take a few moments to ground ourselves by focusing on sensations of our feet connecting with the ground and then expanding our awareness to notice other body sensations.
I invite you to find a comfortable position,
Either standing or sitting,
With your feet flat on the ground.
You may close your eyes if you feel comfortable or cast your gaze down.
Let's begin by bringing our awareness to our body and how it feels in this position.
Notice the sensations where your feet make contact with the ground,
Perhaps feeling into the solidity and support of the earth beneath you.
If you are wearing socks or are barefoot,
You can take a moment to explore various sensations through your feet.
Notice what the floor or ground feels like.
Is it warm,
Moist,
Solid or something else?
Can you feel the weight of your legs or your whole body through your feet?
Now,
Tuning into other sensations in your body.
Noticing the temperature of the air on your skin,
The pressure of your body against the chair or the ground,
And any other physical sensations that may arise.
If you feel comfortable,
You can also imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet,
Extending deep into the ground,
Providing stability and grounding.
Alternatively,
Simply focus on the physical sensations of your feet pressing into the floor,
Feeling the firmness and support beneath you.
For the next minute or so,
I invite you to continue to notice the sensations in your feet and legs and how they connect with the ground.
Let's begin by noticing the sensations of your feet.
Let yourself take in the strength and stability that comes from this connection.
Now,
Taking a few conscious deep breaths,
Inhaling through your nose,
Allowing your belly to rise,
And exhaling through your mouth or nose,
Letting your belly fall.
Breathing in softly and breathing out smoothly.
When you feel ready to end the practice,
You may like to take a moment to acknowledge the support of the ground beneath you and for the time you've taken to connect with the present moment.
Thank you for practicing with me.
