Welcome.

This meditation will be focused on connecting with your inner child.

Take a moment to settle in,

Finding a comfortable position where you feel fully supported.

Close your eyes gently and begin by taking a deep slow breath in and then release it softly.

With each breath,

Allow yourself to settle more fully into this moment,

Letting go of the day so far and of anything else that's on your mind.

Let yourself arrive here completely at ease.

As you continue breathing,

I want you to deepen your breaths,

Really filling yourself completely and fully with these deep inhales.

And then slowly exhaling,

Trying to let out an audible sound on each exhale.

Allowing the breath to truly move through you completely.

Now imagine you're in a peaceful open space,

A place where you feel safe and supported.

The space might be real or it might exist only in your imagination.

As you settle here,

Begin to bring awareness to your inner child,

To the part of you that holds memories,

Experiences,

Feelings from childhood.

Invite your inner child to join you here,

Letting them know that they are welcome and safe.

In your mind's eye,

See yourself at a younger age.

Picture this version of yourself,

Perhaps around five or six years old,

Or an age that you resonate with most,

Looking back at you with gentle curiosity.

Notice your inner child's face,

Their expression,

And let them know you are here just to listen and to care for them.

Take a moment to connect with this childlike version of yourself.

Feel free to offer words of comfort,

Such as,

I am here for you,

Or,

You're safe and loved,

Or anything else you resonate with that you would have liked to hear as a child at that age,

That you needed to perhaps hear and didn't have the opportunity to hear.

Let your inner child know that you are no longer a child,

That you're grown and you've gained experience,

And that you're here to support them and hold them.

Look into the eyes of your inner child,

Perhaps holding hands or placing an arm around their shoulder,

Sending love and compassion to this younger version of yourself.

If there's anything you want to share,

And if there's anything that they want to share with you,

Just listen with openness and kindness.

If your inner child has been holding onto you for a very long time,

Tell them they don't have to carry it alone,

That you are here to support.

Imagine a soft white light wrapping around both of you,

Filling you with a sense of peace and comfort.

Let this light melt away any sadness,

Fear,

Or loneliness,

Creating a feeling of calm and wholeness within.

When you're ready,

Offer a few gentle words of reassurance,

Perhaps a prayer.

Thank you for being here with me.

Let your inner child know that you'll always be here to care for them,

To support them,

And to hold them whenever they need.

Let your inner child know that you'll always be here to care for them,

To support them,

And to hold them whenever they need.

As you bring your awareness back to the present,

Feel the sense of warmth and peace still within you.

Notice the ground beneath you,

The sounds around you,

And taking a final deep breath,

Gently opening your eyes,

Carrying this feeling of connection and healing with you as you return to your day.

Feel free to return to this meditation at any point when you feel that your inner child needs to be held,

And seen.

And with time,

You'll notice your connection with your inner child deepening,

And you'll be able to show up as a fully supportive self to this inner child,

To show up as the adult that your inner child might have needed back then.
