Forgiveness is for ourselves, so that we can fully heal, and continue our lives on a path of peace. When you eliminate the old thought patterns, the stories you've told yourself, and all the negativity, you are then able to take your power back by cutting through the cords and chains of situations, people and ways of thinking that no longer serve you. You will then be free.

When we talk about forgiveness,

We are not condoning a situation or actions from another,

But when we forgive,

We are releasing ourselves from that person or situation.

We are taking our power back and are no longer controlled by something that happened in the past.

Today let us cut those cords,

Cut those chains that have bound us by continuing to not forgive another for their actions.

Forgiveness is not letting them off the hook,

But letting yourself be released so that you can move to freedom.

Let's go ahead and start this meditation on forgiveness and freedom by taking a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose and release out of your mouth.

Again,

Another long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose and release that exhale out of your mouth.

And bring your awareness to the space between your eyebrows.

Allow that area to soften and allow that softness to move up across your forehead,

Down around the corners of your eyes,

Down your cheekbones.

And the corners of your mouth.

Allow that softness to move to your chin and to move up your jaw line to your ear and allow your ears to be overcome by the softness.

Bring your awareness to where your skull meets your jaw,

The temporomandibular joint,

And allow this joint to release and soften.

And just become aware of your natural breath.

How does your body breathe for you each and every day?

Do you breathe in and out of your nose,

In and out of your mouth,

Or a combination of the two?

Just feel your breath enter your body and exit your body and notice how you are giving life each and every day.

And take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose and exhale out of your mouth.

And go ahead and climb into your heart,

This cozy,

Quiet place that offers us refuge at any time,

Day or night,

This place of peace.

Climb into your heart and wrap it around you as a blanket of peace.

And as we start the process of cutting cords,

Make the shape of scissors with your hands and just allow your hands to snip away.

Allow your fingers to cut those cords that have bound you to the past.

Don't bring any energy or thought to those situations or people,

But just snip,

Just snip away at all of those cords that bind you to old thought patterns,

Old ways of thinking,

People,

Scenarios,

Situations,

Things in the past that no longer serve you.

Just continue to snip,

Snip away.

Don't bring energy to any thoughts as they arise,

Just snip and know that you are releasing yourself from the past.

And with each snip of those cords,

Visualize that cord curling back up into your solar plexus,

Those cords curling back up into this energy center of courage,

Into this energy center that holds your internal compass.

Allow each cord as it rolls back up into your solar plexus.

Allow it to bring your power back.

Allow it to give you courage.

You are taking your power back.

With each snip,

You are releasing yourself from chains.

Take your power back.

Continue to snip,

Releasing yourself from those cords,

From those chains.

Take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose and release out of your mouth.

Place your hands on your knees,

On your side,

On your stomach,

Or in your lap.

And just bring your awareness back to your natural breath.

How are you giving life each and every day?

Always notice your breath.

And let us bring to mind the mantra,

I am free.

I am free.

And let us say these words silently in our mind and silently in our throat with each inhale and exhale.

I am free.

I am free.

I am free.

I am free.

And as thoughts of the future or thoughts of the past come into your mind,

Just let them float by as if they are clouds and come back to your mantra,

I am free.

I am free.

I am free.

I am free.

I am free.

I am free.

I am free.

I am free.

I am free.

And take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose,

Bringing that breath into your stomach and witnessing that breath as it comes up and you exhale out your mouth.

Again,

Another long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose,

Bringing that breath into your lungs,

Filling your lungs to full capacity with that breath,

Holding it there a moment longer to really stretch your lungs and exhale out of your mouth.

Again,

Another long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose,

Bringing that breath to your heart,

Surrounding your heart with that breath and exhale out of your mouth.

With your eyes still closed,

Become aware of your surroundings,

The noises you may hear,

The way your body feels.

Put a big smile on your face and when you are ready,

Open your eyes.

You are free.

You are free.

May your day be filled with peace,

Love and light.

Namaste.
