Having quality sleep is an art, and it depends upon how we use our mind and our energy to put ourselves to sleep. This Chakra Yoga Nidra practice will make you learn how you can move energy in your body to sleep quickly and also have a quality deep sleep at night. We will be using the 7 primary Chakras for this. The music in the background supports the practice and is composed in a way that provides deep relaxation to your mind and your body.

I welcome you to this meditation which is called Chakra Yoga Nidra for deep sleep.

Chakras are the various energy centers in our body and today we will use the seven primary energy centers to move the energy in such a way that it provides deep rest and relaxation to our mind and our body and finally takes us into the world of deep sleep.

Before we begin the meditation I want to tell you that I love you.

I also want to tell you that you are special because there are many invisible forces in the universe that deeply love you,

Care for you and protect you.

So surrender yourself tonight to these higher forces as I guide you into the world of sleep.

I will be guiding you through a practice which will involve some hand movements.

So for the time being I will request you to lie down flat on your back.

Later when I will prompt you,

You can change your posture if you wish.

Let's start the meditation.

Take your time to adjust your posture.

Keep your eyes open for now and focus your awareness at a point on the roof directly in the line of your sight.

If it's too dark and you can't see the roof then focus your awareness at any point in the darkness.

Let your gaze be a soft gaze.

Don't strain your eyes.

Now gradually close your eyes.

Let's first set our sankalpa or intention for having quality sleep.

I will say the words of sankalpa and either you can repeat after me in your heart or just listen to my words.

It's up to you.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

I give deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

Now we will bring our sankalpa into manifestation by visualizing it.

Surrealize yourself in your imagination that you are sleeping deeply with full rest and relaxation.

See that there is peace within you.

There is a faint smile on your face while you are sleeping.

This smile is due to the deep relaxation that your mind and body has achieved.

Feel that peace and relaxation in your mind and the whole body.

And now it's time to move energy in our body by placing our hands on energy centers and breathing in white light into these areas of our body.

This white light is from the universal life force which is the source of all creation.

So place both your hands on your forehead now with your palms touching your forehead.

As you inhale imagine white light passing through your nose and into your head and filling and relaxing your head.

And as you exhale you can simply breathe out air.

No need to visualize anything on your exhalation.

Let's start now.

Breathe in white light.

Imagine your head filling with light and exhale.

Breathe into your forehead three more times.

And then breathe in red light.

Now place your hands on your eyes,

With your fingers covering your eyes and your palms covering your face.

Now place your hands on your face,

With your palms covering your face.

Now place your hands on the sides of your neck,

With your palms touching the sides of your neck and breathe in light to your neck.

Now place your hands on your face,

With your palms touching the sides of your neck and breathe in light to your neck.

Now place your hands on your chest,

And breathe in light to your chest.

And breathe in light to your chest.

Now place your hands on your chest,

And breathe in light to your chest.

Place your hands just below your ribs at your solar plexus,

And breathe in light to this area.

Now place your hands on your chest,

And breathe in light to this area.

And now place your hands on your navel,

And breathe in light to your abdomen.

And now place your hands on your chest,

And breathe in light to this area.

And now place your hands on your navel,

And breathe in light to this area.

Place your hands now on your lower abdomen,

Just above your pelvis,

And breathe in light to your pelvis.

And now place your hands on your navel,

And breathe in light to this area.

And now place your hands on your navel,

And breathe in light to this area.

You can now relax your hands and relax your body.

Sense how your body is feeling right now.

You can now change your posture if you want.

And now let's be thankful.

Let's thank the universe for everything.

I will say a short gratitude prayer,

And you can just relax and listen to the prayer.

I thank you universe for giving me the opportunity to be born in this life,

In this incarnation,

In this realm,

And to express my divinity,

Express the love that I am,

And to create a beautiful universe in this physical realm.

I thank you universe for giving me a beautiful,

Inhabitable planet,

Beaming with life,

With immense flora and fauna,

With lush green plants,

Trees,

Grass,

And vegetation,

Millions of wonderful species of animals and insects,

And their vibrant colours which are keeping the ecosystem in balance.

I thank you for the various landscapes,

The mountains,

The plains,

The rivers,

The vast oceans,

For the fresh air to breathe and rejuvenate ourselves,

For providing us with food and water,

The wide variety of fruits,

Vegetables,

And minerals.

I thank you universe for providing me with this amazing body which will help me express my divinity and love.

Thank you for this brain to think,

Understand,

And plan my life so that I will be able to work towards serving others and myself,

And creating a life that I want to create.

Thank you for the eyes to see the beauty in the world,

Ears to listen to the delightful music of the world,

For my mouth to speak the words of love and to taste the delicious delicacies of the world,

A nose to smell the fragrances,

And arms and legs to make movements which will change the world for better.

I thank you universe for taking care of me since my birth,

For providing me with the people who took care of me,

Nourished me,

And made me grow into a healthy human being,

For the people who have provided me with the love that I needed,

And for the people who have been critical of me which has made me understand myself,

Learn from my mistakes,

And grow my consciousness.

I thank you for surrounding me with so many people which gives me the opportunity to express my divinity and the love within me,

And to fill the lives of these people with love,

To make their lives better and to help them raise their consciousness.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to transform the lives of others for better.

I thank you universe for the various beautiful moments in my life which have filled me with happiness and elation,

And also for the challenging situations in my life which have made me learn and grow,

Raise my consciousness,

Change my unhealthy patterns,

And which have helped me in becoming a better human being,

And fully expressing my divinity in this physical realm.

I thank you for giving me this beautiful gift of meditation which has helped me calm down,

Be present in the moment,

To understand my own strengths and weaknesses,

And to remember my own true nature,

My true self,

The divine form within me.

I thank you universe for giving me the power to create anything I want,

To manifest the life I desire,

To make me understand that I myself am the creator,

And that I have the power to create a beautiful,

Connected,

And a loving universe in this physical realm.

And finally,

I thank you for this beautiful gift of sleep which makes me go into the deep world of calm and stillness that provides me deep rest and relaxation to my mind and my body.

Now check if there are any thoughts in your mind right now.

Imagine these thoughts as bubbles,

Like so bubbles,

Floating in front of you,

With each thought representing one bubble.

In your imagination,

Pop these bubbles of thoughts one by one with a slight touch of your finger,

Just in your imagination.

And now that you have cleared your mind,

Let's get back to our chakra meditation.

We will move the energy down through the seven primary chakras,

So place your awareness at the top of your head,

Where your topmost chakra,

The crown chakra,

Is located.

This chakra is a rotating ball of energy which is violet in color,

And as it rotates,

It will deeply relax your head.

Feel the crown of your head relaxing.

Now place your awareness just at a point between your eyebrows where your third eye chakra is located,

Which is an indigo-colored ball of energy.

Feel your eyes and face relaxing.

Move down your awareness and place it at your throat,

Where your throat chakra is located.

It is blue in color.

Feel your neck relaxing.

And now place your awareness at the center of your chest,

Where your heart chakra is located,

Which is a green-colored ball of energy.

And feel your shoulders and chest relaxing.

Place your awareness now just below your ribs,

Where the yellow-colored solar plexus chakra is located.

And feel your solar plexus relaxing.

Place your awareness at your navel now,

Where your sacral chakra is located.

It is orange in color.

And feel your abdomen relaxing.

And now place your awareness at the base of your spine,

Where the red-colored root chakra is located.

Feel your pelvis relaxing.

The gateway to the world of sleep is through the heart,

So one last time place your awareness at your heart chakra.

From here we will journey inwards to a place of silence,

A place of stillness,

A place of pure being.

This place is deep within us.

Descend down to that place as I guide you.

I will be counting back from 10 to 1,

And as I do so,

With each count,

Imagine and feel as if you are descending one step into that place of silence,

Stillness,

And sleep.

Once you reach that place of pure being,

Just relax there by simply listening to the music in the background for some time,

As you go deeper and deeper into the world of sleep.

Let's begin.
