Hello and welcome to this meditation for connecting with the water element.
This meditation pairs nicely with a warm bath or a steamy shower.
If you have access to a warm body of water I encourage you to press pause.
Arrange yourself in your temple of water.
It could be a pool,
A hot tub or some other natural water source like a lake,
River or stream.
As we are connecting with the element of water we want to have access to see it,
Feel it and maybe even taste it.
This is a sensory oriented meditation designed to connect you with the energy of water.
If you don't feel like getting wet right now that's okay too but I encourage you to at least have a bowl or a glass of water nearby for this meditation to be the most effective.
Bring the element of water into your meditation space,
Add it to your altar and we will include it in our meditation today.
Water is often associated with emotions,
Sensitivity,
Receptiveness,
Healing and cleansing.
The astrological signs of cancer,
Scorpio and Pisces correlate strongly with the element of water.
The moon also has a strong relation to the energy of water.
Imagine you are at the beach.
It's nighttime and it's a new moon so the sky is dark.
You can't see the water but you can hear it.
The waves crash onto the shore with the inhale and exhale of your own breath.
Picture this completely black landscape.
Listen to the sound as it churns.
Silently say to yourself,
Ocean.
Ocean.
Inhale again as the tide goes back to sea and as you exhale listen as it comes back and cleanses the land as it washes over the sandy beach you found yourself.
In.
Out.
In.
Out.
As you are sitting here listening to the water flowing in and flowing out,
You feel yourself drawn to enter it.
So imagine yourself standing,
Walking slowly towards the sound of the waves.
Your toes make the first contact and you can feel it is the perfect temperature.
Not too warm,
Not too cool.
You decide to go a little deeper and you let the presence of the water wash your ankles,
Your calves and your knees.
You step deeper into the water and you can literally feel how the water fills all the tiny creases of your body.
Between your legs,
Up to your navel and here you stop,
Stand still and run your fingers over the top of the water and though you can't see it,
You have created a ripple.
Picture the enveloping feeling of the water as a layer of protection and healing and the ripples you created multiply that layer of protection.
As far as the ripples go,
Your intentions spread with it,
Creating an ongoing shield of protection for anyone that comes into contact with it.
Allow the water that surrounds you to wash away worries,
Fears,
Insecurities.
You may ask the water to heal your doubts and banish your fears.
And those ripples of thoughts and energy far and wide.
Then,
When you are ready to go back towards dry land,
You turn around and you walk back,
Bringing attention to the internal moisture of your body.
The blood in your veins,
The pulse of your heartbeat.
You may feel the saliva in your mouth and notice any moisture on your hands or in your breath.
When you decide to open your eyes,
Gaze toward the water in your temple altar or tub.
Breathe next to it and watch the ripples skate across the surface.
Place your intention for yourself and to the world into this water.
Go on throughout your day with the inner knowing that your energy carries ripples and the ripples you send out to the world come back to you multiplied exponentially.
I hope you enjoyed today's meditation.
Namaste.
