Hello and welcome.
My name is Kaziah Gibbons.
I'm a meditation teacher here on Insight Timer and today's theme is Finding the Positive Intention,
Which can be used to manage pain,
Handle difficult thoughts and emotions,
Remove phobias and change habits.
This may happen at an unconscious level.
So if you can set your intention now to being open to changing that unwanted behavior by finding a more constructive way to honor the positive intention behind it.
And then come into your practice space and as you settle you can ask yourself if you're ready to create the conditions now in which change can occur.
So settling yourself down,
Making sure you're really comfortable for the duration of this practice in a safe and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed.
Aware of your body,
Aware of your breathing and letting yourself,
If you will,
Relax into the practice,
Allowing any thoughts to come and go.
Closing your eyes now if you haven't already,
Allowing your body to be completely supported where you're resting,
Following my voice and going inside.
And if it is easy for you,
You might want to notice your breath,
Noticing just how deeply you may be breathing and allowing your mind to rest in that process and inviting your unconscious now to participate fully in this practice.
And I wonder now if you can bring your focus to your heart center,
Open to your own inner guidance.
And you can ask yourself are you ready and willing now to release this behavior and replace it with something new,
Something positive.
And you search inside yourself and in the stillness your answer is clear.
And you ask yourself now if you can find the purpose behind this behavior.
And you listen for your answer and whether you know what the purpose is or whether you don't yet know it.
It is enough that it is there.
And you thank yourself,
Thank your unconscious mind for having your best interests at heart.
And I wonder now if you can begin to generate four or five or maybe more different ways to fulfill that positive intention without the old behavior.
And just allow that process to happen naturally,
Trusting that deep inside your unconscious mind is creating that change even now.
And could you be ready to release that old behavior completely now,
Allowing those new ways to fulfill the positive intention to begin to manifest in your life instead.
And now leaving that process to happen as you go about your day and bringing yourself back to full awareness,
Aware of your body,
Aware of your breath,
Extending your attention outwards to the space around you.
And you might want to begin to stretch,
Wiggle your fingers or your toes and open your eyes.
