This is part two of Julia's lecture on embracing recovery. It is based on both her and listeners' feedback on recovery. We put our intentions to the recovery of both body and spirit.

Hello,
Thanks for coming back.
It's only a few days after I recorded that first recovery audio I Still am recovering from pneumonia.
I'm making good progress,
And I hope you're making good progress listening to your body and recovering as well and Today I wanted to Add some information that I've discovered since I published that first audio about embracing a recovery I've learned this information from watching my own experience,
But also listening to you who have given feedback Via insight timer and so I'll be combining all of that into some tips and tricks to watch for as you move further into this practice and A reminder it's not like I'm an expert on this practice.
I just made it up recently and you all Are giving me more information,
So I'm Learning from myself and you but that's it.
It's not like there's any scientific evidence to support this It's all our own experience So we shall see So I added the spirit column and And several of the listeners said they would so I decided I would too and The spirit column Told me today To take a walking prayer to do a walking prayer so actually as I'm talking with you,
I'm walking and I'm Putting my intention on being in a prayerful state and This reminds me that one of the things I've noticed with this method Is that sometimes I don't understand Especially in the body and spirit columns Sometimes I don't understand what's written there at the beginning of the day when I write it down And in fact when I don't understand what's written there,
That's usually a sign that this is something that's important But that wasn't thought of by my mind in the same way Sure,
My mind was used of course to form the words and move my hand But doesn't feel like it's from the same source And so those surprises that come up Just I don't know what they mean and then later in the day As I'm doing something I'll say oh,
That's what it is So I knew my mind wanted to record another audio about this topic And my body pipes up right beforehand and says but I want to move and my spirit goes walking prayer walking prayer Pretty cool So that's one note and the note is essentially surprise Tells you that something might be valuable.
Although you don't understand it right now So watch in your day to see what happens.
Here's another example on my body list yesterday I had the word that seemed like a made-up word to me It was nasty.
Lovey Nest like a bird's nest Nesty lovey like a hyphen in between them and I was like,
What is that?
So I just tried to stay open and I was Had I think I had kind of forgotten about it I had my list next to me and I was doing something then my husband walks in the room and says You look like you could use a nap What if I made a nest for you and he came over and he was very loving And he made a little nest on the couch and I mapped and I thought oh,
It's nasty lovey time So,
There you go surprises are a good clue that you're accessing something that is not your usual Conscious Intellectual or analytical mind Here's another note if you find yourself starting to dread or What's the word Control like want to control what's on the list like you have an opinion now,
I'm gonna make my list I'm doing it for the third day and Oh,
I'm doing the body column and I'm gonna write workout under that column because I need to work out if you have that amount Of mental conversation about what's in the body or spirit column.
That's not your body or spirit talking that's Your mind deciding it's gonna take over it knows how to do a to-do list.
It's been doing to-do lists Foreheads whole life and it's gonna do this one for you now.
Thank you very much And the nice thing is when you write things with your mind under those other columns if you touch base and look at each thing in those columns and just Sense in your body or in your heart.
Is this really really?
Coming from that place You can cross things off if it's not if you feel like it was your mind taking over so that's note number two and And then note number three is It's really worth observing How doing this affects your daily connection?
With your body mind and spirit outside of the list so yesterday I Was at my no it was the day before it's the day before I was at my workout class I had go to a group training class where you're with other people.
So you kind of work out harder,
You know,
And I'm at my class and I'm usually kind of competitive and always trying to do all the things But I'm recovering from pneumonia,
Of course,
So I'm not doing so well but I pushed myself and then at one point about halfway through the class I I actually heard in my head.
I didn't hear no I heard and oh and My body stopped moving and I said to my teacher My coach I said My body says no and she's like well you're recovering from pneumonia.
So you should like Not that you should listen to that and you should stop and I did and it felt so good And I feel like it's one of the first times in recent memory since I've been pushing myself so much that In the spontaneous flow of things even when there's social pressure and I'm competitive and I have my own standards to live up to I Heard my body say loud and clear what it needed and I'd listened and I was really touched Later that day.
I went to the doctor to see if the pneumonia had gotten out of my lungs and she said yes It's completely out of your lungs and she told me the story of How it's this particular type of pneumonia is going around and someone who was in very good health recently just died from it and The thing that happened was he pushed himself and I thought wow here.
I thought I was you know just Going along doing my thing and dealing with one more illness when in fact these things matter In major ways these decisions about what we ignore and what we let in and Who we choose to tell us what we're gonna do so Those are some thoughts.
I hope they're helpful as you continue to Determine whether this practice is right for you thanks for listening and I'll talk to you again You You You

I would give you a double five stars on this one if I could. I thought the first one was an incredible idea, but with this one I guess maybe I’ll have to actually DO it instead of just think about it......

Thank you for this follow-up talk from the first audio. I have been inspired to start my own daily list for mind, body and spirit! I really like the idea of doing this while you are eating breakfast, when you are in a position where your mind is not fully active and your body is in the mode of receiving nourishment. I will follow up later to let you know how your recommendation has affected me in my journey. Thank you!

Thank you for this. My recovery is from mental trauma but I think that it could work there as well. I will try it.
