There is no "proper" way to grieve, everyone struggles with death differently in life. Regardless of your belief system the emotional body still needs to process the pain of death in it's own way. With this guided meditation we begin by relaxing the body and mind. Once you are more open and relaxed we begin to open up to the heart center in a safe space. Creating an environment to allow your heart to open and express the pain, suffering or joy and love it is holding. To allow these emotions to express in their truest form and witness the unfolding as we give voice to our heart's truth. After the opening of the heart we do a guided imagery to bring it back into a space of rest and peace. Giving you a space of comfort within to access at all times when being in the heart center may be too overwhelming. I hope this brings comfort and relief to you in your grieving process.

Begin by focusing on your breath,

Allowing it to flow with ease into your abdomen and out of your abdomen.

Finally relaxing the stomach,

Chest and throat as your breath passes through these areas.

While the muscles of your scalp begin to soften and release any tension,

Your forehead drops,

Your ears open,

Your eyes release any tensions.

Let your jaw create a spacious feeling of openness.

Letting go of thoughts as your mind and brain receive a well deserved break.

Now feel the sensation of surrendering and releasing low down your neck and upper back.

Softening letting go.

Your shoulders drop down away from your ears.

Your chest moves more fluidly and openly.

And your arms and hands become heavier as they let go and rest.

Your back softens around your spine and tension melts to the floor.

Your abdomen becomes more pliable and melts into a space of deep comfort and ease.

Your hips open and release any tightness they hold.

The fluid feeling flows down the legs,

Knees,

All the way to the feet and the toes.

Letting go of any tension in your body.

Your body has created a space of openness to allow your thoughts,

Emotions and energy to gently flow.

Bring your awareness to your heart center.

You are in a safe space to honor your heart and how it feels in this moment.

Notice how your chest and heart feel.

Is there pain,

Sadness,

Compression or softness,

Joy or love?

Place one or both of your hands over your heart as you gently hold it and support it.

Now I'll give you some time to take gentle and calming breath as you allow your heart to express what it is holding onto at this time.

Calmly surrendering with no judgment,

Allowing the heart to unfold like flower petals opening towards the sun.

Now release your breath and release those body signals that were called a beginning.

Once more.

Bringing your full awareness now back to your breath.

Simply aware of your inhale and your exhale.

Nothing more.

Feeling gratitude for each breath,

Each moment.

Envision within your heart center a peaceful metal.

See yourself laying and resting in this metal.

Notice if there are flowers,

Trees,

Or stone.

Is there a stream,

A lake,

Or a pond?

Can you hear the singing of the songbird?

Rest in this metal,

Feeling the comfort of resting on the earth.

The gentle wind on your skin and the peacefulness that it offers in this serene moment.

You know it is time to leave this metal,

But have a strong sense that you can return here to rest whenever you need.

Coming back to your body,

Aware again of your breath.

Aware of this present moment.

Thank yourself for honoring your heart center.

Allow your heart to express its emotions and also rest in a space of peace when it is needed.

Defense someone else in this moment.

Honor your scalloping knees.

Slowly and gently coming back to your body.

Feeling grounded and lighter.

Thanks for watching!

This helped me feel in my heart not only what I sought after but then some. A different form of grief I have been battling my whole life.....the loss of innocence in childhood. A grief that I'm not fully removed from. Intentions in my heart that are still there.
