Forgiveness
by Cari
We all seek to find forgiveness throughout life. We seek to forgive those who have wronged us or bought us pain. We seek to forgive those who have misled or misguided us. But we also need to forgive ourselves. Finding our own forgiveness is an essential piece of the journey to forgiveness.

So it's time to find that space,
That place where you can sit or lay and deeply relax.
Allow yourself to cut off and shut off from all other things.
Allow yourself to begin to settle.
Take a nice deep breath in and breathe out and release.
Allow yourself to begin to feel the body start to soften.
Allow yourself to feel,
To connect.
Take a nice deep breath in and allow a long breath out.
Slowly feel the body start to release.
Start to feel the body deepen into your position.
And then a long deep breath in and a deep release out.
And then breathing in taking that breath down to the feet.
Filling the feet with breath.
Feeling this connection quicker and easier now.
Feeling into the feet,
Recognising the steps and allowing breath by breath for you to release.
Breathing it in,
Filling with breath.
Feeling,
Connecting and releasing.
Taking a deep breath in and as you breathe out release the steps.
Allow yourself to walk on from the past and move to the legs.
Breathing it in,
Filling the legs with breath.
Connecting and allowing yourself to feel into the legs.
To feel their connection.
Feeling into the weight and the burdens you have carried.
Breathing it in,
Breathing out to release.
Knowing the past is behind you and you have laid your burdens down.
And you move on to new life force.
Breathing into the hips and the pelvis.
Opening,
Softening,
Filling with breath.
As you're filling with breath you're feeling into the energy of life pouring into the body.
Opening the hips and the pelvis.
Breathing it in,
Softening,
Allowing this new life.
Walking on from the past,
Releasing the burdens.
We breathe,
We release and we move on to the stomach.
Breathing into the stomach we fill the stomach with breath.
Pushing right out against the walls of the stomach.
Like a giant balloon filling the stomach.
Breathing it in and as the stomach fills you find the emotions held there.
You allow with each release the emotions of the pain,
The resentment,
The frustration,
The guilt and shame to be released breath by breath.
Breathing,
Releasing,
Allowing yourself to be freed from these emotions.
You've walked on from the past.
You've placed the weights and burdens down.
You've welcomed new life and released the emotion.
And you move now to the spine and breathe from the sacral all the way to the base of the skull.
Breathing the long line of the spine,
Spiraling the spine,
Twirling through allowing the energy to be clear and clean and move through the body.
Breathing it in,
Breathing out to be clear,
Moved on,
Stepped away,
Laid down the burdens,
Drawn new life,
Releasing the emotions and feeling the clarity of the energy.
You move to the chest and breathe in.
Filling the chest,
Opening the ribs,
Allowing the breath to expand the diaphragm and the lungs.
And as you're breathing and feeling opening through the chest,
Through the ribs.
Allowing yourself to feel and connect to the emotions held in the chest,
Breath by breath,
Releasing the fear,
Releasing the pride and the ego,
Releasing the jealousy.
Releasing the envy.
Breathing it in,
Breathing it out,
Allowing the chest to release.
Walking on,
Laying down burdens,
Welcoming new life,
Releasing through the stomach and the chest all the emotions.
Drawing that clear energy through the spine,
Down the arms to the fingers softening our throat.
We breathe,
We allow the throat to expand across the neck,
A gentle swallow.
And we open the throat.
We allow the tightness,
The restrictions.
We allow ourselves to no longer hold back from saying,
From speaking,
From releasing past emotions.
Allowing them to move through the body and the throat can soften.
We move to soften the face,
To release the tongue and breathe into the mind.
Breath by breath,
Releasing the thoughts,
Allowing our mind to calm and clear.
Breathing it in,
Releasing the mind.
We have walked from the past,
Laid down our burdens,
Open and welcoming new life,
Releasing all the emotion and feeling the strength of the energy through our spine.
Clearing our voice,
Softening our mind and allowing ourselves to just feel the breath.
And we release the breath.
And we feel,
And we soften,
And we deepen.
And we allow ourselves to bring our mind to our sacred path and we begin to walk.
Taking in the day,
Seeing what is created around us,
How it has changed,
What stays the same.
Moving towards our beautiful grand tree.
As we approach,
We turn,
Place our spine against the tree and slide down.
Sitting at the base of the tree,
Our body strong against the tree,
Allowing all our worries to be released.
Breathing in,
Releasing the mind.
And as you stand,
Embrace the tree,
Give thanks in gratitude.
And return to your path,
Walking along the path towards the great door for your sacred space.
As you open the door and enter,
You lock it behind you.
You walk towards your beautiful garden.
See all the colours,
All the scent and the perfume you can smell.
You touch and feel their softness.
You feel the different texture.
It brings you great happiness to see your beautiful garden.
Gently move through the garden and start to walk down the gentle slope.
And allow yourself to find a nice green patch of grass and gently walk towards.
Place yourself down.
And for just a moment,
Look around you.
Take in the scenery.
Know that you are safe and loved and held.
Take a deep breath in.
Allow a long release out and lay down into the grass.
Soften your legs,
Soften your body and allow yourself to close your eyes on the grass in your sacred space.
And just feel the peace and the calm wash over you.
Today you are asking for forgiveness from yourself.
You are asking to forgive yourself.
You are asking to forgive yourself for hiding you away,
For pushing you aside,
For believing others over you.
For thinking you are not enough.
For abandoning you.
For not believing in you.
I want you to take yourself to a moment,
There may be many,
But just one today.
That moment that you hold shame or guilt.
That you hold pain or fear over.
That moment that holds you into believing that you have done wrong.
I want you to feel it fully.
It doesn't matter if you are the only one in that situation.
All that matters is that you place yourself there.
That you know and feel that moment.
That you know what happened in that moment.
And I want you to take a deep breath in and I want you to breathe out and I want you to say I forgive you.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out and say I forgive me.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out and say I forgive me.
I want you to feel so strongly into that moment.
I want you to know that perhaps once you did something that right now you may not be proud of.
That you may now think was wrong.
But we are human here.
We make mistakes to learn.
We have many lessons to endure.
For every step of the way to forgive is to heal.
Deep breath in.
Deep breath out.
I forgive you.
I forgive me.
I forgive me.
While you are laying in your sacred space with your eyes closed.
You sense somebody walking towards you.
You may be filled with tears right now.
You may be heaving in your chest crying so deeply.
Needing to be forgiven by yourself knowing that you can move on from this.
Gently walking towards you in this sacred space is the energy of me.
You may see me.
You may feel me.
And right now I am holding you.
I forgive you.
I forgive me.
I allow forgiveness.
I am holding you with great love and great warmth and great strength.
I am holding you.
I am here.
I will hold you.
Allow yourself to forgive deeply.
To know that what has happened is done.
That all that has been has been.
That you are forgiven.
That you forgive you.
That life holds no grudges.
I am holding you.
I am holding you.
Taking a deep breath in and breathe out.
Slowly I withdraw my energy allowing you to console your heart.
To know that you are loved.
And that you have forgiven your heart and soul.
Allow yourself to breathe.
Allow yourself to calm.
Taking a deep breath in as you breathe out.
Allow yourself to sit back up.
To feel a heaviness has been moved from you.
To feel and connect to a space within you that allows you now to walk on.
And you stand.
Slowly make your way back to your beautiful garden and see it as if for the first time.
Touch and connect as if for the first time.
A lighter.
More carefree.
More loving you.
Moving your way through to your beautiful door.
Closing it behind you.
Slowly making your way down your path.
There is a lightness to your steps.
And gently walking back into where you are.
Breathing.
Feeling your breath in your body.
Allowing yourself to feel the connection.
At this point you may have only connected to one piece of your life that asked for forgiveness.
If there are others please take the time to revisit this meditation.
So that you can seek forgiveness for each piece or moment.
Deep breath in.
Long breath out.
Breathe down to the feet and draw the breath through the body.
Gentle moving of the toes.
Releasing the legs and the hips.
Drawing the shoulders.
Moving the fingers.
Allowing the head to tilt from side to side.
Breathe in and draw the arms up above the head.
Stretching.
Draw the knees into the chest.
Allow yourself to hold you for just a moment.
Roll to your side and lay in the fetal position for just a moment.
Curled.
Safe.
Nurtured and loved.
Take a deep breath in and breathe out.
Coming back to where we are.
And slowly,
Gently being present.
