This is a 13-minute inner child healing practice that will bring you through a journey of acceptance and forgiveness. The practice includes visualization and contemplation through a combination of mindfulness cues to help guide you through the relaxing session.

Starting by finding a comfortable seat.

Feeling yourself grounding into the floor,

Into your chair,

Into the earth.

Whatever part of you is touching the ground,

Noticing how it feels to be supported,

To be held,

To be in conversation with earth.

Just taking a few breaths here.

Centering yourself and really arriving,

Pulling all of your energy back to your center,

To your core.

We'll start to visualize roots extending from your feet or the base of your spine.

Really slowly these beautiful healing roots making their way down,

Down,

Down into the earth.

Growing and extending deep into the core of our planet.

Noticing what this feels like.

Feeling yourself being held by these roots.

We'll continue to feel the support but releasing this visual of these roots,

Knowing that they're there,

Knowing that you are connected and held.

And you'll start to visualize yourself in your mind's eye,

In a place.

There's no right or wrong.

Letting yourself just really intuitively and easily fill in the space.

Maybe you find yourself in a cave,

Maybe you're in the forest,

Maybe you're on top of a mountain or in the water.

Seeing yourself as you are now there.

And as you arrive looking around,

What do you see?

What do you feel?

Exploring this space,

Noticing if you smell anything,

If you taste anything.

Noticing what else is here with you.

When you feel centered in this space,

We'll start to invite in a version of you that needs healing.

So if you're not sure who that is,

Just saying I invite in a version of me that needs healing.

If you know you want to invite in 12 year old you,

5 year old you,

15 year old you,

You can call them in.

But you don't have to know.

Inviting in a version of you to join you in this space wherever you are.

Seeing them come in and join you.

Looking them in the eyes.

Taking them in,

Breathing them in.

What are you feeling right now?

Noticing what comes up for you.

Noticing shame,

Judgment,

Whatever it is,

Just noticing.

And asking them,

What do you need?

Why are you hurting?

Listening.

What do you want but don't have?

What are you craving on a deep soul level?

What wounds are you holding?

What needs healing?

Asking and listening.

Deep breaths,

Holding space for them,

For this version of you to share their pain,

Their needs,

Their trauma,

Their shame.

Holding space without judgment,

With love.

What do you need from me?

What can I give you right now?

Whatever wounds,

Whatever they're bringing to the table for healing,

Seeing yourself,

Give it to them now.

Giving them the love that they didn't have.

Hearing them when no one else did.

Seeing them,

Witnessing their pain,

Which was all they wanted.

Telling them how worthy they are of love,

Of whatever it is that they are desiring.

Maybe you give them a hug,

Maybe you start to cry together.

Giving this sweet version of you exactly what it is that they need.

Honoring their fear,

Their sadness,

Their pain,

Whatever it is.

Offering them whatever it is that they needed but did not get.

Taking a few more deep breaths.

Is there anything else that you need to give this version of you?

If you haven't held them,

If you haven't held them and touched their face and told them everything's going to be okay,

Do that now.

Time is not linear.

And so this version of you exists now.

We can change so much and shift so much by offering them the healing that they need.

When you feel complete,

When you've given this part of you,

This you that you have been,

The love,

The healing,

The support that they need,

You'll start to see this image dissolve like water or like smoke.

Feeling yourself coming back into your body.

Realizing what you feel.

Taking some deep breaths.

Feeling this version of you rejoin the whole.

Feeling this wounded version of you reintegrate.

Feeling this one little portal close.

When you feel ready.

Taking your time.

You can start to open your eyes.

Coming back into your space.

And if you'd like,

You can take out your journal and just spend a couple of minutes processing what came through.
