The morning alarm rings. How do you wake up? Instead of jumping out of bed in a frenzy, spend a few minutes in quietude, stillness, and calm. Rather than snoozing in bed dreading the day ahead, awaken to the breath and rejuvenate the body. Greet every day of each week with Mindfulness Coach Erin Lee, and allow this simple seven-day practice to evolve into your own personal mindfulness routine. Tune in to what is present for you this Tuesday.

Good morning.

Let's begin by taking a seat and ensuring that your posture is stable and wakeful.

Having the eyes to gently close,

Or if you prefer to leave them open,

Lowering your gaze to the floor in front of you.

Allowing the body to settle into stillness.

And then opening your awareness to what is here for you right now.

What is present at this moment?

Do you notice sounds in the space around you?

If sounds are present,

Simply notice that sounds are here.

Carefully resting your awareness on the presence of sounds,

Coming from different directions.

Sometimes noticing the spaces between sounds.

And sometimes maybe even no sound at all.

Are there thoughts present?

If thoughts are present or arising in the mind,

Simply notice that thoughts are here.

There is no need to quiet these thoughts.

There is no need to push any of these thoughts away.

Simply noticing their presence without the need to change them.

Are there emotions present?

If emotions are present,

Simply notice that emotions are here.

Just acknowledging their presence without the need to change them in any way.

What about the body?

What is here in the body at this moment?

Noticing the air around the body in contact with the skin.

Paying attention to the parts of the body in contact with what you're sitting on.

What other physical sensations might be present in the body?

If you're feeling tiredness in the body,

Becoming curious about what tiredness feels like.

Perhaps a sense of heaviness or lightness.

Or sensations of tightness or relaxedness.

Depending to how the body is breathing in and breathing out.

Simply paying attention to what is here for you without the need to change anything in this experience.

If you notice your mind wandering off to thinking about something,

Simply acknowledge that thoughts are here.

And if your attention is being pulled away by a sound around you,

Simply know that sound is present.

One moment at a time,

Opening your awareness to what is here for you with a sense of curiosity and acceptance.

Without the need to add anything to this experience.

Without the need to make anything go away.

One moment at a time.

Just tuning in to the present.

And now when you're ready,

Taking a deep breath in.

Exhale and open or widen your eyes.

Thank you for practicing with me and have a mindful day ahead.

Another wonderful practice. I really enjoyed your approach in this meditation of just being present. The simplicity and humbleness of that is beautiful. Thank you. πŸ’«βοΈβœ¨
