Tantric Journey Through The Chakras
How can we stay within ourselves when we expand with the universe, or contract with the universe? How can we use meditative tools to navigate through the chakras within ourselves, reflected as well in the outer universe? How can our breath work help this journey? This meditation guides the listener through these points.

Hello my name is Erin Collingarity and this is your Tantric journey through the chakras.
In Tantra the belief is that we are non-dual meaning that we have divinity that exists within us and so the challenge as a human being is to be able to stay with ourselves when we're in that contracted state and also when we're in the expansive state.
Unmesha the universe opens her eyes,
Nimesha the universe closes her eyes.
Always she is with herself and so today's meditation will show you how to use your heart the Hridaya to remind us how to stay with ourselves when we're contracting as well as expanding and so make sure that you're in a quiet area.
Be sure that if you're driving to turn off this meditation and bookmark it for a later time.
If you're already seated we can begin.
Start by taking some deep breaths in and out through your nose.
In yoga we practice a breath called Ujjayi.
This is victorious breath to be victorious over the mind and so as we breathe creating some texture with the breath by breathing high up in the nasal cavity over the vocal cords it sounds like this.
So invite the fullness of your breath to enter through your nostrils and expand your back ribs.
Once you've expanded hold it there for a moment and then exhale.
Hold your breath at the bottom by a Kumbhak.
So this is holding breath retention without the breath inside the body.
Inhale again.
Pause at the top and exhale.
Slow steady stream.
Continue this breath seeing if you can inhale and exhale on a four count and pause for a one or two count at the top of the inhale and at the bottom of the exhale.
Let's continue to breathe and as you breathe I'm going to remind you to relax your jaw.
Allow your eyeballs to be heavy in the sockets and imagine with each breath this little bubble being created around you of safety of stability where you can do inner work without interruption and you can have a safe space to observe yourself and be deeply spiritually intimate.
For us to know ourselves it is necessary to become quiet,
To become still,
To use what's called Pratyahara which is a drawing in of the senses.
So you notice your body on your cushion or chair.
You feel the weight of your bones.
You notice the texture of your breath and as you continue to breathe this breath with sound Ujjayi,
You feel the texture from the inside out and you also hear the sound.
This process stimulates our senses so that then we can pacify them and draw inward.
Take your breath just a few more times creating a container to do the inner work.
Good.
So now we're going to draw our awareness into the Hridaya,
The spiritual heart.
So close your eyes and imagine your conscious awareness drawing down into the center of your chest.
Notice your breath entering and leaving your body and see if you can notice the top of your inhale,
The very top,
And then notice the very bottom of your exhale and start to hone in your focus right around this heart chakra.
It's called Anahata.
The color traditionally is green.
This is our space for unconditional love and this chakra also connects the above three chakras to the below three chakras.
So breathe and then start to bring your awareness to your beating heart.
Come to your beating heart like a student looking up to their guru.
This guru that cares so much for you,
That is always there and that is teaching through experience,
Teaching through modeling what it looks like to contract and expand,
Contract and expand.
Really hone in on your heartbeat to where you can very intimately feel where your heart contracts and then when it expands.
This pumping of blood and prana through your body.
This is a very powerful energy center.
Take another breath pulling in the wisdom of your heart and then take a deep breath in and exhale.
Imagine dropping like this internal elevator all the way down to your root.
Your root is Muladhara.
This is our space of safety.
This is our space of connection.
The color here is red.
Notice if this area feels clenching or tight and don't try to fix it or change it but just stay with it.
Now we're going to bring the lessons of our Haridaya Guru down in to the base of your spine.
So as you exhale imagine your pelvic floor just slightly contracting and as you inhale allow it to open,
Spread and lift.
Exhale feel this energetic contraction in your Pranamaya Kosha,
Your energy body and then inhale become expansive.
Keep focusing on the contraction of this area and the expansion.
At first when you're doing this meditation you might take a gross sensation meaning the contraction will be very literal.
You will feel your muscles contracting and you will feel them releasing and expanding.
Over time the movements are becoming more subtle and more energetic.
So wherever you're at is perfectly fine.
However you connect with your body take another moment to feel everything hugging into center and then feeling everything with grace expanding.
Like your heart pumping the contraction and expansion almost like your pelvic floor is syncing up with your heartbeat.
Take a deep breath in,
Exhale and imagine your exhale has this tint of red to it and it's spreading it through your entire body.
Feel safety,
Feel connection,
Feel rooted.
With your next inhale we start to go up to the Swadhi Sthana.
This is our space of creativity,
Sexuality,
Expression in the world and different arts.
The color here is orange.
Draw your awareness right around your pubis and right around your sacrum and as you exhale hugging your thigh bones into the sockets just a little bit and as you inhale allowing them to spread open like you're literally creating out in the world.
As you exhale pulling in,
Hugging in.
As you inhale softening and opening this contraction pulling in hugging into the bones and this inhale and opening and softening.
So we have the Stirham,
The firmness and the Sukham.
Finding a balance of the two allows us to be the balance of masculine and feminine.
In the Hindu cosmology this is called Arda Nariswara.
This is the culmination and the amalgamization of Shiva and Shakti.
Of Sun and Moon,
Masculine and feminine,
Absolute potentiality and creation.
Allow this contraction and expansion to continue happening with your breath pulling in an opening and one more time hug the thigh bones in,
Pull into center,
Exhale and inhale.
Allow your hips to spread,
Allow the energy to open moving up into the Manipura,
Your solar plexus chakra.
This is your space of personal power.
This is your space of confidence and so the color is yellow.
As you exhale everything hugging in.
As you inhale expanding and opening,
Inviting in your breath.
As you exhale hugging in.
As you inhale open.
These actions can go from very slow to starting to match with the contraction and expansion of your heart with the pumping of blood.
Keep drawing your awareness into your solar plexus and as you contract and expand imagine that feeling of confidence.
Imagine the feeling of being in your own power.
You may notice as we go through the chakras and especially around the belly that your digestive system might become stimulated as you focus your conscious awareness there.
So if your stomach starts to gurgle or things start to move you're on the right path and if not that's okay too.
Your next exhale contract and as you inhale expand inviting all the gifts of the universe.
Exhale and then draw your energy up now into the heart space,
The Anahata,
Where we started and this is where we start to connect the abloh to the above.
As you exhale hug into your ribcage,
Hug in towards your center chest.
As you inhale expand outward.
As you exhale hugging in this beautiful color green.
As you inhale expand outward.
As you exhale the universe hugging you close loving you as its child.
As you inhale open become absolute potential mixed with creativity.
Hug in,
Hug in,
Open,
Hug in and open.
Hug in once more.
Pull into yourself and then inhale expand outward.
Taking the energy of your lower three chakras and your Hridaya,
Spiritual heart,
Going up into Vishudu,
Into the throat.
The color here is blue.
This is your space of verbal expression and speaking your truth.
As you exhale hugging in.
Feel the muscles around your throat pulling in gently.
As you inhale expand.
Imagine yourself like a bullfrog,
All the skin stretching,
The muscles stretching,
Opening and as you exhale hugging back into center.
Inhale expand outward like you're pulsing with the universe and then exhale pull in.
Inhale expand out with your throat.
Exhale hug in.
Inhale expand out.
Exhale in.
See if you can make the contraction and expansion a little bit faster.
Hug in and this time as you inhale beautiful blue color spreading all around you.
Little molecules,
Kilapas,
All around you raining down blissful truth.
The next inhale will go up to the Ajna chakra.
This color is indigo and this is our space of intuitive wisdom,
Of our third eye,
Of our inner guidance.
So with your eyes hugging in you can even turn your eyes as they're closed looking at your third eye and then exhale hold it.
As you inhale expand out and imagine your eyes looking more towards your periphery.
As you exhale hug in center.
As you inhale expand towards your periphery.
Exhale hug in.
Inhale expand periphery pressing on the walls of consciousness.
Exhale coming into center.
Do this a few more times with your breath contracting and expanding.
Your next time contracting and expanding hugging in gaze is up at the third eye and then inhale looking out towards your periphery.
Indigo flashing all around you.
Your inner guidance volume is now turned up.
Let's send our energy up to the Sahasrara,
The crown chakra,
Our connection with the divine where we remember that we are divine in this human form encapsulated.
The color is white with a touch of violet.
As you exhale imagine the whole universe hugging in especially around your head and as you inhale it expands outward loving and trusting you to make your choices.
As you exhale drawing in love and support all around you.
As you inhale becoming expansive.
Exhale pull back in your loved and supported.
Inhale expand your aura opening up your chakras expanding.
Exhale drawing in.
Inhale expanding.
Exhale drawing in.
Inhale expanding.
Exhale drawing in.
Inhale open up.
Draw your awareness down into your root.
So it is said that the top chakra can represent Shiva and this is absolute potentiality.
The root chakra can represent Parvati or Shakti.
Imagine your root,
Your tail and the crown supporting one another like magnets that are holding together all the other chakras speaking to one another.
This beautiful intelligence exchanging data in your heart and body sharing a thousand precious secrets with your psyche.
Imagine this encapsulation of safety,
Of knowing yourself,
Of being in this realm of truth and compassion.
Take a few more breaths in this safe little egg and then pull the energy in towards your spine.
So from your root to your sacral chakra,
To your solar plexus,
Your heart,
Throat,
Third eye and crown hugging in crystallizing into this beautiful body that you have in this wonderful human experience that you're having as a spiritual being.
Make sure as we start to wrap up this meditation that you are grounded and that you take a few moments to adjust your chakra opening to a personalized and customized opening for you that's appropriate for your next activity.
Take some time to settle in and remember that you are loved,
You are so supported and if you ever forget yourself please come back to this meditation.
Again I'm Erin Colleen Garrity and thank you so much for this journey.

I gave 5 stars but this was very intense for me. Tinnitus pounding in my ear and bad headache the farther along I went. I’m not sure what I was going wrong! I’m not new to different breathing techniques either. Any thoughts?? Thank you.
