Hi,

I am Ogalucía from EQNES.

We all have those heavy days in which we feel overwhelmed by the stress of our day.

Perhaps due to the many activities and responsibilities we have,

Or just because we wake up feeling not that positive.

We don't take a break because either every minute is precious and we need to advance in whatever we are doing,

Or simply because we are not in the mood.

But regardless of the reason,

This may not be the most efficient path because in moments like this,

Tightness and unhelpful thoughts and emotions come to keep us company throughout the day,

Making everything more difficult and slowing down the progress.

The best thing to do is to take a short 5 minutes break away from everything and if possible do some activity that takes your mind away from all this worry and all these thoughts.

This practice aims to provide some relief by allowing music and mindful movement to combine and help us release that negativity that we are dragging throughout the day.

This exercise will last around 5 minutes.

You don't need to be a dancer or anything like this.

The only thing you need to do is to let your body go.

So let's start.

First of all,

Leave everything aside and we will start this practice sitting and then we'll slowly get up.

Sit comfortably with the chest open but body relaxed.

And for a moment,

Close your eyes.

Release your breath.

Take two deep,

Relaxing breaths.

With each inhalation,

Feel how the body expands and creates space and with the exhalation,

Release all tension.

Continue breathing normally.

And pay attention to your body.

Start to wake it up gently.

And being totally present,

Start moving your shoulders,

Your head,

Arms,

Your chest and slowly start to get up.

Breathe,

Move and stay present.

Now,

When the music changes,

Let your body flow freely with the music.

Let everything go.

This moment is just for you.

Let your body flow,

Let your body flow freely.

Make the change.

Move up and down,

Throughout the space,

Really checking out negativity.

I loved this movement meditation through dance! As a dancer I have often felt that dance can be a form of prayer. This guided meditation unlocked another perspective of dance for me. (Like the natural inclination to shake things off through a shimmy and how that in itself is meditative.) I will surely do this practice again to help me reconnect to my body when feeling stuck. Thank you for this creative approach to meditation! 🙏🏾😇
