Hello everyone!

Thank you so much for joining me today and welcome back to the Invigorate Your Life podcast.

My name is Molly and I'm your host so let's get into it.

I am curled up on the couch with my new laptop.

I'm super excited to play with it and I've got my rose quartz here with me.

I've got a fun pink juice that I'm sipping on and I've got my notes.

I actually collected my thoughts before sitting down to record today and I'm ready to get back into this you guys.

I have been gone from the podcasting space for about three or four months now and I am just so ready to jump back in.

I'm not making any promises,

No commitments for consistency or a schedule or anything but it's something that I want to happen organically.

I don't want to force myself or pressure myself to create because I do this for fun.

It's an audio diary.

You know I would like to hold myself accountable to show up and create in an authentic and organic way because this really is an outlet for me and I think the more consistent you are with your creativity the more you can really look at your growth over time so that's something that I would love to look into kind of creating the space and the sacred energy and time for myself to sit down and record these episodes for both myself and for my community and today is actually a big day because we have hit 400 followers here on an insight timer.

I'm so grateful for all 400 of you and I'm so grateful for everybody who comes to my page and listens to my meditations and my podcasts you know regardless of if you're following or not I'm grateful for each and every one of you and yeah it's been two and a half years.

We're approaching three years since starting on insight timer and I have never been consistent with this platform and it's something that has always been a goal of mine but not necessarily a priority and that's why it hasn't really happened yet but thank you guys for 400 that it feels unreal.

I remember following this one individual on insight timer and she had like two or three hundred followers and at the time I had maybe a couple dozen and I just remember thinking how is that possible you know to have a community of that many people and she was doing live streams and you know communicating and interacting with her community really engaging with her community and I loved that so much and it really inspired me so you'd think I'd be more consistent but you know life gets in the way and I think it's really sad that when life ramps up our creativity and our outlet and our expression really slows down you know since I've been much more involved with work I haven't found the space to create whatsoever you know I've been skipping my morning routine sleeping in and not meditating not journaling at all I was working on a book project soulful diaries and that totally fell in the backburner for the past almost two months because of work and work depleted my mental health and this is kind of what I wanted to talk about today so I think this is a great segue so because of the way that I was feeling with work I really desired to reclaim my energy while still being in that masculine energy of being the provider being the supporter and you might be listening to this and thinking what I thought this was about feminine energy and femininity and the goddess energy but you really ebb and flow and fluctuate and bounce back and it's always that what is the word that I'm looking for here not 50-50 but it's always that reciprocal energy in relationships for those of you who don't know I am married very happily married and my relationship has never been perfectly split down the middle 50-50 it's always been support where you can give where you can where do you have the capacity where do you need extra support how can you give extra support things like that there have been periods in our relationship where my partner has completely financially supported me and right now we're in a situation where I'm completely financially supporting him and it's not something that you know we share everything and that's just how you know that's what makes us happy right so I was feeling unfulfilled with my job and you know I just opened myself up to the possibility of something new I was looking but not really trying to find something new you know I wasn't desperately applying to every single job listing that I found and I really let go of the title that I wanted because during this time I realized that a job is not my purpose you know how I earn money how I produce in the economy is not my soul's purpose that's not why I'm here that is not my core essence it is just something that as a human being living in a physical earth during this time where my partner is contributing in different ways this is something that I have to do but I'm able to do it on my own terms you know I don't have to be in a toxic situation I don't have to be in a situation where I am not respected or I'm drained right because like I was saying I was so drained in this previous position that I wasn't able to do my morning routine which makes me so happy I wasn't able to create things like that so long story short a fabulous opportunity presented itself to me and it was something that completely caught me off guard I wasn't expecting it and I remember in the interviews there were four interviews for this position and in the final interview I remember saying in front of a group of four or five people you know I don't really have experience in this but I'm willing to learn and I'm excited to learn and I knew right then and there you know this is gonna be it they're not going to choose me and because of that energy because of that humility and because of my willingness to learn they didn't mind that I wasn't necessarily that experienced in this area and I ended up getting the position so why am I telling this story you know it's not to talk about career it's not to talk about work and it's definitely not to talk about money it's to talk about never being stuck in a box you are never a victim of your situation and of your circumstance there is always the opportunity to open a door even if you aren't looking and it's just all about that decision to to change your life you know I've said ever since I was in high school every single morning from the moment you wake up you have the choice you have the opportunity to change your entire life every single day you're presented with that opportunity and it's up to you to do something about it to choose to show up to life and change your entire life or just to simply observe your life just for a day you know maybe you're feeling a little bit off you're not really sure how you're feeling you just know that I'm definitely not feeling happy look at your life observe your life from the moment you wake up what are your habits what are your routines what are your thoughts what are your emotions how are you reacting to the situations and circumstances around you how are you reacting to being stuck in traffic how are you reacting to saying hi to somebody on the street and they don't say hi back things like that how do you react to these things and from there you may realize what is in alignment with with your soul what does feel good and what is not in alignment you know things that drain you things that don't particularly feel good and you have the power to make those changes in your life every single day you have that power you are never stuck in a box and something that I've always been struggling with was my sense of purpose and I'm going to go into this a lot more here in a little bit but I really equated my sense of purpose with my identity and my identity was always my job title especially growing up in America the first thing you hear people ask you know your parents whenever you're you know with them at wherever you are right I'm totally making this up right now what do you do as you grow up what do you do what do you want to do what do you want to be when you grow up what do you want to go to school for well what do you want to do with that when people ask these questions and when you ask these questions to other people chances are they mean and you mean what is your work what is your job and whenever they ask what is your job they definitely mean how do you earn money because that's all that's important apparently I'm just kidding so I really struggled with finding my identity finding who I am because it was always about the job and if you know me you know that I have changed my mind about what I want to do with my life a million and one times and I think that is fabulous I think exploration is so crucial to your journey because I think whenever you know we stick with one thing if you really love it great but if you're like me and you try something and you're told you need to have discipline you need to have good work ethic you need to have follow-through and commitment but if you just don't like it if it doesn't bring you joy if it's draining you stop doing it try something else there's so many things for you to try in this world you know there's creative work there's scientific work there's math there's physical work and I'm not talking about work I'm talking about the act of doing something not a job necessarily so whenever I say try creative work I don't mean try a creative job but I mean try the act of creating right that physical act of doing something so I think there is so much you know I've never believed that I am meant to pick one thing when I'm 18 years old and stick with it for like 40 years or 50 years or however long to retirement and do the exact same thing for decades for decades I have never believed that that is what is meant for me I have always believed that I am meant to have multiple careers multiple paths multiple interests multiple whatever it is and I just believe in taking detours and taking so many different steps in your life taking so many different risks and trying new things and exploring in your life and some fabulous ways to explore things in your life I think you know we have the internet we have social media you know watching tutorials like if you want to get into cooking watch cooking videos if you want to get into something that I've been really interested in lately is floral design making floral arrangements I've been watching videos and reading books on this you can even take classes at a community college this is a really fabulous way to really dive into something but we're taught you know if you're gonna go to school you need to get a degree and this is coming from somebody who has a degree and I don't think that a degree is the most efficient way to educate somebody because I took classes and things I can't even remember just because they were required for my degree and if I would have just taken classes that were truly designed to educate me based on what I was interested in interested in then I would feel so much more educated so much more prepared to engage in the world but that's not how I felt fresh out of college because I was coming out of classes that I had no interest in why can't I say that I had no interest in so it was difficult for me to really apply them to my life and to take something away from those classes really so I have a friend I hope she's listening to this right now she is actually working towards her bachelor's degree right now but previously she she really started by just taking classes that interest interest her taking graphic design classes literature classes things like that and she fell in love with one of the classes that she was taking this graphic design and that's what led her to make the decision to get her bachelor's degree in graphic design but she wouldn't have known that had she not taken those more like exploratory classes based on what was just simply interesting to her she wasn't even thinking about you know how can I make money off of this what is a good career path she wasn't Google I don't know what she was doing but I'm not to put words in your mouth to my friend who's probably listening to this but I'm assuming she wasn't googling like you know how much money does a graphic designer make you know or best career trajections for whatever right she was following her interests and she's just exploring life that is what I'm trying to say why did I go off on a tangent anyways so you guys you are never stuck in a box you are never limited to what you are being told what you're what by what your parents did or by what your parents want you to do or by what the people around you are doing you know in my personal experience you know this has been very enlightening and transformative for me you know I have so I graduated from college two and a half years ago and my oh I'm sorry that was my phone okay I'm back I'm sorry about that my phone was going off and I had to turn off the notifications but something that has been a very transformative and revealing experience in my life like I mentioned I graduated from college two and a half years ago and a lot of my friends are just now graduating from college either within the past couple semesters or within the next couple semesters they're graduating and I'm so happy for them they all have fabulous jobs and they were very crystal clear on what they wanted to do they picked a path early on and stayed with it all throughout school got internships in that path and ended up getting a fabulous job offer in that path for whenever they graduate and I remember feeling like did I do something wrong you know still feeling so happy and so blessed for my friends not necessarily feeling jealous of them but kind of questioning my path because my path looked very different from theirs you know I went to school very quickly I didn't get any internships I graduated and didn't work for a while and then worked in food service and retail before finally getting my first office job and from there that led to opportunities that paid a little bit more so I really wondered did I do something wrong did I go down the wrong path you know is this are they showing me how I should have done things and that is just so not true like you cannot compare yourself to anybody else you don't know anything that's going on in somebody's behind the scenes you are just seeing what's on the surface you aren't seeing you know you aren't seeing anything you know so you can't compare yourself to other people and you can't compare yourself to other journeys other timelines I mean look at you know every time I use an example or I try to like use an analogy or something I totally butcher it but I guess let's try look at like flowers and trees and and plants right different plants are going to bear fruit or you know bloom their flowers at completely different times sometimes in completely different seasons in different time frames so you really can't so like if you're a rosebush you can't compare yourself to a lemon tree and wonder you know my roses should come at the same time as these lemons you know you're different people did that make sense I really hope that made sense so you're never stuck you need to explore in life and you have the decision to change your life every single day I think it's so important and so crucial to have fun and to play in your life and to create and I feel like this is so crucial you know inner youth healing by healing the inner youth so whether that's the inner child or the inner teenager whatever it is doing that healing I think is so powerful he all healing work is so powerful but especially inner youth healing because you're turning back to a time before the conditioning before anybody had expectations on you you know as a kid I love to create art I love drawing and as a teenager I loved writing and I loved yoga and spirituality and I always wanted to travel and I was always a girly girl I was always so feminine and so sorry my microphone started to fall but you know I felt like I knew myself and then going into college I really you know shifted gears and leaned heavily into my masculine energy of productivity and you know production working hard discipline loyalty to a company things like that and I think the more that you heal your inner child and your inner teenager the more you grow into the wise woman the mother and the goddess so more on that later so whenever we're healing our inner youth you know a really important question to ask is what is the point is the point to serve someone else like a boss or a corporation or whatever it is or is the point to be happy to love yourself and love your family and to explore the beauty and the sweetness of life what is the point why am I here I think this is so valuable to ask yourself what is the point because it is so easy to get caught up in things that are just not important when I was in college getting caught up in things that are just not important like my exact job title like my you know how much money I had in my bank account compared to everybody else you know comparing myself to other people that just doesn't matter and even as I found myself working these office jobs you know since coming out of college I still find myself you know you know I still find myself wondering is this why I'm here is this my purpose to report to my boss to serve someone else to make a certain amount of money and to be at a certain level of productivity per week or is it to like I said experience that love beauty harmony and sweetness in life so I don't know I mean I think I do know you know but yeah so we're talking about finding happiness or prioritizing happiness over money fulfillment over success and purpose over career let me say that again happiness over money fulfillment over success and purpose over career you guys this is so important I think I'm gonna take a break here and I'm gonna come back to this hello everyone how are we feeling it has been a full day since I recorded the first 20 or so minutes of this episode and I just listened back to the entire episode and I'm ready to dive right into this and continue this conversation you know I found that I can really only record for about 20 minutes straight I can talk for 20 minutes and then after that even if I have much more planned I just need a break so I took a break I wanted to come back to it yesterday but I didn't so here we are today it is a beautiful Friday morning it's warm outside the sun is shining and my cat is locked up in the room I already did an introduction yesterday so you guys don't need another introduction I'm sure this is overkill but let's get into it so we were talking about what we are prioritizing and I think it's so important as we mature we really begin to prioritize bliss I think following your bliss and acknowledging what in life contributes to your bliss what in life contributes to your joy where in life are you feeling harmony with the way that things are harmony with existence you know what I mean I think this is so important to acknowledge what do you love about life and this is all about that self-discovery that self you know actualization and exploring yourself we talked a lot about exploration in the beginning of this episode but I really want to talk about identity and knowing yourself and knowing yourself beyond external definitions so happiness fulfillment and purpose prioritizing these things above money success and career this is a challenging one I you know when I was younger I really I always wanted to know what my purpose was and I always equated that to career I would go to psychics and ask what is my life's purpose and expected to hear a job title so when I heard that my life's purpose was to find balance and to heal and to love I was not satisfied with that answer and I continued looking and searching through healers and therapists and advisors what is my life's purpose will what do you think I'm here to do what job do you think would be perfect for me and I've always been searching for that dream job and I've never been able to find it and in the beginning of this episode we talked a lot about you know like I said exploration and never being stuck in a box and I think it's very common especially in my experience to pick one thing and want to stick with it because we are expected to choose one thing when we're 18 and stay with it for our entire careers up until retirement and when that's just not the case whenever you change your mind I think that is such an empowering thing to do it is so empowering to decide that you want to try something go all in with it give everything to this thing realize that it's just not for you and go in a different direction I have done this so many times and I have at some points cared what other people thought about me I definitely cared what other people have thought about me when making these decisions for example I went to graduate school briefly I'm not sure if I've talked about this on the podcast but I was briefly in grad school studying clinical mental health counseling and you know I was ready to invest two to three years of my life and all of this money and you know taking these exams and getting licensed to be a therapist I realized within one semester this is not for me and I don't want to go any further with this so I quit I pivoted I redirected my energy and I decided looking in other directions and you know have I found my one and only thing that I'm going to do until retirement no because I don't think it exists I don't think in my personal life in my personal experience in my relationship with life and existence I don't believe that I am designed to choose one thing and stick with it forever I think I'm here to explore and play and grow and ultimately discover myself and discover the kind of is this a word like multifacetedness right like the multifaceted nature that's probably a better way of phrasing that of my my spirit and my mind and my body so I have spent times in my life you know not really engaging in much spending a lot of time for rest and that's what I'm doing right now in these two weeks I'm two weeks in between jobs I just left my previous job and I'm starting a new job now it's in about a week and a half and I have been embracing the nap life as my aunt would call it I've been taking naps I've been resting going to bed early sleeping in a little bit later and it feels so good to just rest and to follow my energy cycles whenever I get a surge of energy you know going for a walk or creating a podcast or writing doing something or exploring the city whatever it is but I'm really embracing that rest and relaxation too so I think it's so important to honor your natural cycles and seasons and where was I going with this we were totally talking about something different and then I kind of went off on a tangent so I think that we prioritize money success and career above our happiness and fulfillment and purpose so often that's kind of where I was trying to go with this but I got a little bit sidetracked with my personal story and I think making this shift in prioritization comes from healing in the divine feminine energy and this is not about gender roles this is not about you know being a woman versus being a man we all have masculine and feminine energies within us regardless of gender regardless of sex and I believe that we are operating from a very masculine energy as a culture as a planet quite frankly and by embracing the feminine energy of healing self-empowerment in rest and relaxation and slowing down and prioritizing things like happiness over money you know and in realizing what is important and I think connecting with the divine feminine energy is really a shift into connecting with a more collectivist mindset and perspective versus individualistic personally I have always been very individualistic I remember being in high school and in college and just wanting to run away and go be on my own and I wanted to go where nobody would know who I was you know I didn't want my family to contact me I didn't want any of my friends to know where I was I wanted to basically disappear because I wanted to be my own person as I've matured and as I've grown up and really since getting married I've adopted a much more collectivistic mindset and perspective and I have completely fallen in love with family community connection relationships friendships things like that so I feel like this is a very feminine perspective to have to really prioritize nurturing relationships over and and I think that you can nurture relationships and still of course you can still be your own person and discover yourself but we are social creatures we are living on a planet with I think eight billion other people you know we need to love our neighbors we need to love our brothers and sisters that we are sharing this earth with right so I think femininity is extremely healing and it kind of leads to that like I was you know briefly mentioning earlier that sense of self empowerment when we are slowing down we really release the pressure of performance and impressing other people living up to a certain standard and I think that is so empowering to defy expectations and to not care about impressing others and not living for other people but to live for ourself and whenever you live for yourself I truly believe that you cannot pour from an empty cup so whenever you live for yourself and you take care of yourself first you are you are healing the people around you it's like a ripple effect I've talked about this with my therapist a lot so this ripple effect is like you know whenever you whenever you do that inner healing within yourself it creates a change in your vibration and everywhere you go to everyone you speak to every move you make every word you say to yourself that radiates into the universe and other people feel that vibration whenever you are kind to yourself whenever you take care of yourself and you are compassionate and graceful with yourself and your energy other people feel that and you inspire other people to do the same you know whenever we're in hustle mode and we just put ourselves on such a high you know expectation and standard and we're working so hard and it's not in alignment with who we are you know that is going to stress other people out it might even pressure other people to do the same but whenever we slow down we breathe and you know we just embrace that feminine energy it really inspires other people to do the same because of that ripple effect and because of that vibrational energy so I want you to ask yourself you know what is natural within me and what is conditioned what is natural and what is conditioned so this is all about returning home to our core essence when we ask ourselves what is natural I am referring to you know what does home feel like to you what feels like you what feels authentic to you and what feels forced it's like force versus flow I think I used to talk about this a lot on my live streams and maybe in some podcast episodes but force versus flow so flow is authenticity it feels like you flow is like you recognize yourself in what you are doing and it's not that it comes easily but it comes natural naturally that's what I'm trying to say and force on the other hand you don't even recognize yourself in what you're doing and oftentimes it requires much more effort much more energy and it can be very draining to do but ultimately you do not recognize yourself in what you are doing and it's not always the case that force is draining and flow is energizing because I think that something can be in flow and still deplete your energy but fill your cup at the same time you just need like a balance um that's kind of hard to explain but that's really what I'm challenging you to ask yourself today is what in your life is natural and what is conditioned you know what is flow and what is force this is going to help you learn how to know yourself like I was saying earlier beyond external definitions when you know yourself when you know your authenticity what is natural what is divine what is in flow you can make more informed decisions and choices and take actions that are solely aligned with who you are your core essence and you can return home to yourself I think there is nothing more powerful and nothing more beautiful on this planet than returning home to yourself especially after searching for yourself in the external world for so long I think that's really powerful you know how can we return home to ourselves and for those of you who are listening to this if you've made it this far into the podcast let me know have you been searching outside of yourself for you you know you've been looking for yourself outside of yourself there's this song he says it was already inside me I didn't have to look and I think that's just so true you know everything is within you the entire universe is within you spirituality nature it's all within you you don't have to look outside of yourself but so often we we are conditioned that we have to look outside of ourselves and I look at this in my own situation in my own experience and I am seeing how I have been conditioned to find myself or to rather search for myself in career in a job title in my method of creating we're generating money you know it's not just oh my job is to love others to be happy to spread positivity no how do you make money you know and that's really how I've been conditioned I've been searching for myself in terms of a title but if I kind of shifted the perspective and I looked into okay what's natural I think I could go a lot deeper I think we could all go so much deeper whenever we look into what is natural to you so know yourself and then challenge your desires challenge your desires you know I have always said if I had gotten everything I wanted ever I would be miserable the people that I wanted to date the things that I wanted the jobs that I wanted the whatever experiences that I wanted to have the apartments I wanted to live in the houses I wanted to live in whatever if I had everything I ever wanted I would be completely miserable right now so I really want you to challenge your desires what desires are of the ego what desires are of the part of you that is just searching for identity searching to fit in searching maybe searching for fulfillment searching for happiness searching for purpose but looking outside of yourself for those things and challenge those desires now there are going to be quiet desires too they are going to be in the back of your mind maybe even so quiet that they're not even in your mind but in your heart and I want you to listen to those quiet desires maybe they've been around since you were a child I don't know but you would know and I want you to nurture those desires I want you to nurture those desires so they might grow into something that you could never even imagine because oftentimes we think you know we can only have as great as we can imagine we can only have as massive as we can think you know I look at my life right now and I specifically look at my marriage this is something I never could have imagined I never dreamed of I was never scripting this in my journals I was never actively consciously manifesting the magnitude and the unconditional love of my marriage but it's something that I'm experiencing now and I never thought or imagined or knew that I could experience this so I just want you to challenge your desires and I think oftentimes with within the law of attraction and manifestation space we are taught that kind of like I was just saying a moment ago we can only have what we can imagine we can only have what we write down in our notebook like I am grateful for my whatever I am grateful to be in this relationship or to have this job or whatever it is but I think things you know really come unexpectedly more often than not and I say that a little bit not to scare you but to challenge you I look at you know every job I've I've had and it was never the job that I was actively manifesting the job I was writing down in my notebook but it was always something different something that I didn't really pay attention to but it just kind of happened and I think that's really interesting and maybe I'm just not good at manifesting maybe that's what I'm revealing right now or maybe it's really good to be surprised and it's really good to welcome the unexpected and to welcome change and to admit that we don't know everything I think that's really valuable too so thank you so much for sitting with me this morning thank you so much for being present with me and I am so grateful for all 400 of you we really did that so I would love to be more consistent with this I I really need to make the space and the time to create in this way and that's something I need to prioritize but for now I love you all I hope you have a beautiful rest of your day and again just thank you so much for being here and if you have any questions if you have any comments whatever please leave a review that's the best way for you to communicate with me and I see every single review and I would love to answer your questions so I love you bye

Loved this 😍, made me realise that I'm on the right track. I also do a variety of things and my joy and peace are a priority. I know it is unconventional but it brings me peace.
