Each morning we are born again.
What we do today is what matters most.
Buddha.
You can begin by finding a comfortable seat or a lying position,
Just somewhere where you're going to feel comfortable throughout this meditation.
Allow your hands to rest softly on your lap or by your sides and just gently close your eyes.
Let's begin with a single breath.
Inhale.
And exhale.
Slow it down.
Let your breath arrive just like the ocean arriving at the shoreline.
Smooth.
Rhythmic.
And just feel gravity holding you for a moment,
Letting it keep you still and anchoring you to the ground.
And as you begin to feel grounded,
I'd like you to take a moment to bring your awareness inward.
You woke up today.
You're alive right now.
What does that mean for you?
Ask yourself this question as your breath naturally flows in and out.
What does today mean for you?
Why have you woken today?
Is there anything different right now compared to the person that fell asleep last night?
Perhaps it's your emotions,
Your thoughts,
Your mood.
You don't need to rush the answers to these questions,
But just let them rest in your mind,
Just like seeds.
We'll nourish that question,
Those questions throughout this meditation.
Now bring your attention to the center of your body.
And I'd like you to just imagine that the center of your body is a clear space where there's a still pool of clear,
Bright water deep within you.
This is your energy reservoir.
It's been resting all night,
Quiet and undisturbed.
And with the natural rhythm of your breath,
I'd like you to imagine the surface of the pool beginning to ripple as you breathe.
Imagine the ripples like something is stirring.
And as you visualize this water stirring,
I'd like you to just try and feel it for yourself.
Connect with it because this is your core current.
It's a stream of vitality that lives inside you,
Even when you're asleep.
It's there when you're conscious and when you're waiting.
And you're waiting to be touched,
Waiting to be noticed.
And you're just being patient,
Waiting for a bus.
It's in the not doing.
That's when you can connect with your core current.
Take a slow,
Deep inhale through your nose and as you exhale through your mouth,
Feel that pool beginning to warm like a gentle glow at its center.
And as you do so,
You can see the pool beginning to light up just like morning sunlight dancing across water.
And as you see this light emerging from your core current,
I'd like you to ask yourself the question,
What gives me energy?
Perhaps it's movement or purpose or joy.
And with that question,
I'd like to follow up with this question,
Which is,
When was the last time you felt fully charged and vibrant and awake and what brought you there?
And as you ask yourself that question,
Just keep breathing into that space,
Inhale it and just allow it to be.
And as you inhale and exhale,
You notice that these questions that you're asking yourself are allowing your core current to feel more vibrant,
More alive.
Perhaps these questions are energizing you,
Not because necessarily you find the answer,
Because they're stirring something in you.
And I'd like you to imagine that light now expanding throughout the rest of your body because you've activated it now.
You're now beginning to expand that energy source into your legs and into your arms and into your mind.
Take another deep breath and exhale again.
And as you do so,
Perhaps you recognize a slight shift within you.
Perhaps you feel slightly more energized or more hopeful,
More prepared for what the day is about to bring.
Bring those questions with you into the space that you're in right now.
And as you inhale and exhale,
You notice that these questions are allowing your core current to feel more vibrant,
More alive.
And as you inhale and exhale,
You notice that these questions are allowing your core current to feel more vibrant,
More hopeful,
More prepared for what the day is about to bring.
And as you move forward with this recognition,
Remember to breathe and you'll do just fine.
Have a wonderful day.
