How are you doing today?

I want to know.

Today is all about how you are feeling.

Sometimes we get caught up in our fast paced lives and we forget to really come to terms with where we're at,

What we're going through,

What emotions are running through our body because we don't give ourselves time for mindfulness.

This is your time today,

Well done for being here to begin with.

We're going to begin by finding the present moment,

Find a place where we feel grounded and in tune with our body.

Once we're in this place we will then allow emotions to rise to the surface,

Observe them and then allow them to be.

So firstly i'd like you to find a comfortable position where you can be seated,

Where you can have an upright position.

You can put your hands on the top of your knees or on the top of your legs.

Once you do so hopefully you'll feel centered and now we can begin breathing in through our nose and out through our mouth.

As you do so i'd like you to observe naturally the rising and the falling of your chest.

I'll give you a minute or so to do this.

Well done,

Next i would like you to open your eyes and just observe the room around you.

You can pay attention to one particular object or feature or you can just scan your eyes across the room and just become aware of your surroundings.

Next i would like you to focus on what you can hear in your surroundings.

Perhaps you can hear noises outside your window or the natural sounds of your home or if you're outside in nature you might be able to hear nature noises right now.

Just focus on what you can hear for a moment.

That's great.

Next we're going to move on to the mindfulness portion,

The part where we focus on our emotions.

Perhaps there have been emotions that have been inside you for some time that you haven't been able to surface.

So to begin this practice i'd like you to give yourself permission to feel your emotion.

So i'd like you to say verbally in your mind or out loud,

I give myself permission to feel emotion.

Well done for doing this.

Now you have given yourself permission to feel,

I'd like you just to observe what's going on inside your body.

Perhaps your emotion is focused in your stomach or maybe you can feel it in your mind at this time or even in your entire body.

You might have feelings of love going on right now,

You might have feelings of frustration or anger.

Just sit and observe your emotions for a moment,

Let them naturally arise but don't deeply connect with them,

Don't identify with them,

Just allow them to be for a moment.

This is a great practice to be able to feel our emotion in a healthy way.

Sometimes as we bottle emotion up it can come out in unhealthy ways and we totally identify with that emotion and believe that that emotion is who we are.

But the reality of it is,

Emotions often arise from things that happen to us during the day and sometimes when we're moving so quickly we don't actually process them properly,

So this is a process of processing.

Once again i'd like you to give yourself another minute to just feel your emotions but don't identify with them,

Just observe them.

That's fantastic.

Next i would like you to actually truly feel this emotion,

So you've observed them for some time,

Now's the time for you to feel this emotion.

Tears may come up during this period,

Elation may come up during this period,

There might be all sorts of feelings that happen but just remember to be gentle with yourself with whatever arises,

It's okay to feel that emotion,

You don't have to allow it to become a process of overthinking right now and for you to try and get that emotion away,

Go through it naturally,

I'm here guiding you through that emotion,

Breathe through it as you need to,

In through your nose and out through your mouth and i'm going to give you a couple of minutes just to do this.

Well done,

You chose to do something very healthy for yourself today and that is to feel.

As human beings we need to feel our emotions but the problem is when we're really overwhelmed those emotions can become dysregulated from time to time,

So these moments of mindfulness really helps you to process them in a healthy natural way so they don't come out in the wrong ways.

You can repeat this practice as many times as you need to if you still feel like you have emotions going on within you right now that you still need to process,

Just remember that this practice is all about observation,

Being gentle with yourself,

Following my guidance and not overly attaching and identifying with the emotions because these emotions are something that you just experience,

They don't define you,

They aren't who you truly are,

They are feelings that have naturally arisen that need processing,

That need to naturally be felt.

So give yourself a pat on the back for giving yourself permission to do this today.

Well done and i hope that you enjoy the rest of your day or the rest of your evening.
