Are you feeling sad today?

Let's take some time to sit with it.

Take a few deep breaths.

It's okay to feel down sometimes.

There seems to be an expectation in life where we think we should be up and happy a lot of the time.

But we all have times of sadness,

Be it brief or for a little longer.

It might be from an event in your life,

A memory,

Grief or simply a hard day.

Today might be a day where we let the sadness in for a moment and acknowledge it and be at peace with it.

Take a few more calming breaths.

It's okay.

Think about the sad feelings you're experiencing.

Notice how they feel in your body.

You might feel tension and stress.

Breathe into those areas with acceptance and calm.

You might want to cry.

Go ahead.

It's okay.

It's safe to do so.

And while we don't want the sadness to consume us,

It can play an important role in helping us process life events.

And even though your feelings of joy and happiness might seem far away right now,

They're not out of reach.

Joy will return.

It's not lost.

After a time of sadness,

You may even find you can connect with joy and gratitude and appreciation on a different level.

Keep breathing.

Let's take some time now to focus on our breathing.

Find where your body is holding sadness and tension.

Breathe into those areas and let it dissolve as you breathe out.

Now breathe in love for your emotions and come to a place of acceptance and peace with those emotions.

Enjoy this moment of stillness and calm.

Take a few more breaths.

Give your fingers and toes a wiggle and have a stretch.

Now open your eyes.
