A simple and effective practice working with the somatic body for improved confidence and presence. This is a practical process to connect with your body physically, so to do the full macro version, you will be invited to stand up and move your body. If for any reason you cannot stand or move your body, you can visualise it and still gain some benefit. Embodiment coaching is all about the essence that you choose to embody, rather than what you do. Practical tips that you can bring into daily life for greater confidence in yourself and presence in life.

When we use embodiment techniques it's a wonderful way to really come back to that very essence of whatever it is we want to connect to using our body together and it's more about becoming that rather than just doing a pose or adjusting our posture it's really connecting to the very essence the embodiment of something that we know thanks to science that the mind and body are so deeply connected and whatever we do with our body has a big impact on our emotional well-being so by actually using the body to connect to confidence can be a wonderful quick and effective way to step into greater confidence so make sure you're in a place where you are undisturbed that you have space around you that you are able to stand up and do this practice standing up so with eyes open stretch out your arms to your side stretch out your arms as if you're making a big starfish shape this is what we call taking up space pose and with this pose this can be a wonderful way to step into greater confidence stretching your arms out up and your legs hip distance apart or a little bit more standing up tall and as you breathe in allow your spine to extend upwards slightly and as you breathe out allow your body to extend out to all four points your feet your hands breathing deeply looking straight ahead this is all about embodying presence confident presence in the moment a great mantra as you do this pose is i'm here that strong presence notice how this feels if this feels familiar or not and where in your life do you need more of this embodiment it's taking up space this presence and then bringing your arms down to your side so you're just standing there so what we just did was the macro version so the big version what did you notice coming out of that how did that feel and if you were to do a micro version a very small adjustment to your body that can help you connect with that essence of presence and confidence but doesn't necessarily mean doing a full star shape what would that be what's the one thing that makes the difference perhaps it's a roll back of the shoulders perhaps it's a slight lift of the head so you're looking straight ahead perhaps it's breathing deeply and these are little adjustments that we can do to really help us come back to this embodied presence this embodied confidence this can be a wonderful practice to do before any interviews before a date before any time that you want to step into your power and with regular practice this becomes easier and easier and taking up space claiming space in life really embodying that power and that confidence becomes easier and easier so practice this and notice what changes as you do
