Hello,
Everyone.
Welcome to our weekly meditation.
I'm sorry I missed you last week.
I was traveling
with my family.
It's nice to be back.
So let's just come into our meditative stance,
Whether
it's standing in repose,
Sitting on a cushion,
Sitting on a couch.
Let's start with three
breaths.
Inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.
This meditation today is
resting in the sensation of trust and gratitude.
So when I start to feel anxious,
Start to
worry about the future,
My finances,
When I start to get that edgy feeling where everything
seems to be a little glitchy and creaky.
I know that I'm out of the flow,
Right?
I know that I've
disconnected from the source,
The truth of a benevolent universe,
Of divine timing.
So today,
We're just going to come into our meditation.
We're just going to gently remind
ourselves and nudge us back to that place of trust and gratitude.
So let's just start with the
sensation of the breath.
You see where in your body the breath is showing up.
So if you had to
tell someone,
Explain to someone what sensations you feel when you are being breathed or when you
breathe,
What arises right now?
How does it feel?
What are the body sensations
of your breath right now?
Go ahead and place your awareness now on the sensation of your thighs or your bum or your
sitz bones.
If you're sitting on your chair,
Your cushion,
Your couch,
And just feel that heaviness,
The weight of your body touching,
Whatever it's touching.
You can feel the material against your skin.
Now extend your awareness into both arms.
First,
Your right shoulder,
Right shoulder,
Your right upper arm,
Your right elbow,
Your right lower arm,
Your right hand,
And just the whole feeling of your entire right arm.
Let's do that on the left arm.
So your left shoulder,
Your left upper arm,
Your left elbow,
Your left lower arm,
Your left hand,
Your entire left arm.
And if you're able and if this feels comfortable,
Just gently nod your head
no,
Left to right.
And now nod your head yes.
Up and down.
Roll your shoulders back three times.
And on your final time,
Just let your shoulders gently roll down and back.
Chin is tucked.
Head is straight and even.
Back is straight.
Back is straight.
I invite you to focus on the sensation of your breath again
in silence for the next few minutes.
And then I'll come back with some more contemplation about trust and goodness.
If you've lost your connection with your breath,
I invite you to feel into your body again,
To your arms,
Where your bum hits the cushion.
And come back to your breath.
Gently staying in meditation.
I just invite you to imagine
that you found yourself before a gate,
Just a garden gate.
Just imagine whatever a garden gate would look like.
And the door,
The gate,
Is now open.
There's a sign on the door that says,
Welcome.
You are welcome here.
Come in and enjoy the space that you're in right now.
There's a sign on the door that says,
Welcome.
You are welcome here.
Come in and enjoy whatever you would like.
So welcome.
Come in.
Enjoy whatever you would like.
And you gently,
Excitedly walk through the gate,
Through the door.
You find yourself in a lush and abundant garden.
So it is late summer.
It's been lots of fresh water and rain.
And actually,
It's just recently rained.
All the plants look healthy and vibrant.
And it's an orchard.
And as you start to walk down the garden path and through the orchard,
You realize that all the trees are laden with fresh,
Ripe fruit.
And they're so ripe that when you reach up your hand
to touch one,
Whatever kind of fruit you might fancy,
The fruit gently comes off of the vine,
Off of the tree,
Into your hand,
Just by that effort of gently putting your hand underneath the fruit.
And in your palm,
Feel the weight and the goodness and deliciousness of this fruit.
There's no effort.
The abundance was there waiting for you.
You were invited to partake.
So you may feel like taking another fruit.
You may feel like sitting underneath a tree and eating your fruit.
I want you to rest in this feeling of complete abundance.
You look around you and there's more and more vines and trees filled with the same,
Possibly different fruits.
There's so many fruits.
And if you don't pick them,
They would fall to the ground and provide food for the ants and the worms.
And the tree for next year.
But if you do pick them,
Provide nourishment,
Sweetness to your life.
I invite you to come into awareness of your heart and your heart space.
Just rest in this gratitude.
You're so grateful for this fruit.
You trust in its goodness.
Your time for harvest is here.
And it's now.
Maybe this feeling of gratitude resides in your heart.
Just think of five or ten,
Doesn't matter the number,
A few things right now in your life
that are going well,
That you have gratitude for.
Perhaps it's a relationship or a bit of shelter,
An experience you've had,
A conversation,
A touch from a loved one.
Just bring into your heart,
You can maybe even imagine those people or those places
or those things,
Those experiences,
Just drawing them in to your heart.
You might want to say thank you.
You can bow to each one of them.
We'll sit in meditation for one final minute.
Feel free to enjoy this deep sense of gratitude permeating from your heart
outwards and know that if it benefits you,
It benefits others.
Thank you for joining me today.
