Best listened to in the day or days before you fly, this guided meditation uses progressive relaxation, calming hypnosis techniques and beautiful visualisation to help you release any anxiety or fear you have previously had about flying. As this meditation may induce deep relaxation, it is best listened to when not driving or in any situation that may require your close focus and attention.

The following meditation includes hypnotic suggestions and may induce deep relaxation or sleep.

Please do not listen while driving.

If you like and when you're ready,

You can find a comfortable position and let yourself relax.

Gently close your eyes and take a deep breath.

The breath is the start of letting your mind relax.

Let all the stress leave the body with each slow exhale.

And relax.

With each breath in,

All the way in.

Just relax.

Let your whole body move into a relaxed state,

Preparing your body and mind,

Ready to begin the process of slowing down.

Take a deep breath all the way in and all the way out.

Notice your breath slowing down.

Continue to breathe deep and slow,

Beginning to let go,

Allowing yourself to experience this just as you experience it.

Connecting with a deeper part of yourself you can trust.

Trusting yourself to go as deeply as you want and need.

Notice how with every breath you take,

You become even more relaxed.

Any thoughts that arise,

Accept them and allow them to drift away like clouds and just focus on my voice.

My voice will be your guide to ease and calm.

Nothing needs your attention right now.

This moment and the next is for you to just relax,

Allowing any thoughts to simply drift away and relax.

Your breath is in harmony with your body.

Every inhale brings warm,

Positive energy into your body.

And with every exhale you are letting go of everything that is no longer needed,

It can feel so good to let everything go.

Starting with your toes and feet,

Let any muscles release and untie.

Now relax,

The mind and body letting go.

Moving this gentle relaxation up to your legs,

Your ankles,

Lower legs,

Knees,

Upper legs,

Hips.

Let them fully relax.

Pay attention to how comfortable they feel as they soften into relaxation.

Soothing,

Healing,

Drifting through your body as you easily let go.

Now moving up to your back.

Starting at the lower back.

Soothing and softening up the length of your back.

Completely relaxed.

The relaxation continues to your upper back and neck.

Softening.

Notice how relaxed the muscles in your back and neck feel.

And notice how any stress or worry just drifts away.

Softening,

Letting go.

Allow any stress or worry to easily drift away.

Floating away.

Moving this gentle relaxation through your shoulders,

Gently letting go of any tension,

Allowing your muscles to loosen,

Untie and soften.

And notice how when you do this,

You fall deeper into relaxation.

Feel the relaxation flow through your arms,

Wrists and fingers,

Loosening all the muscles and letting go.

Relax now.

And moving up to your head.

Pay attention to all the muscles in your face and head.

Relaxing.

Your scalp.

All the muscles in your face.

Around your eyes.

Cheek.

Jaw.

Mouth.

Let all these muscles just naturally drop and relax.

Just softly drop and relax.

Give your body and mind an opportunity to become still,

Leaving everything else behind.

Now imagine you are standing at the top of a stone staircase overlooking a vast and beautiful garden.

You know that this is exactly where you should go.

Just a place where you can be,

Where new possibilities may occur.

Stepping down from step 10 to step 9.

Feeling more and more relaxed now.

Stepping down from step 9 to step 8.

Aware of how with each step down you are feeling more and more relaxed.

Stepping down from 8 to 7 now.

Drifting deeper and deeper.

Relaxing completely.

Smoothing.

Stepping down to 6.

Feeling so comfortable and calm now.

It's so easy to relax.

Stepping down further to 5.

Relaxing now.

Peaceful.

Stepping down deeper to a pleasant state.

For noticing how your entire body and mind feels so calm.

So relaxed.

Moving further away from any busyness.

Stepping down to 3.

Deeper and deeper relaxed.

Letting any remaining tension go.

Stepping down to 2.

Almost there now.

The further you go,

The better you feel.

Feeling completely,

Naturally.

And stepping down to 1.

Fully and completely relaxed.

And finally you step down to the ground.

Aware of how completely calm and relaxed you feel.

A chance to grow and find ease.

Stillness and calm control.

The deepest calming state.

Deeper and deeper.

10 times deeper relaxed now.

Straight ahead of you,

In your mind,

You will see an archway.

And through this archway is a beautiful garden.

Walk through the archway to the garden.

Notice how beautiful it is and how peaceful you feel here.

Muscles completely relaxed.

Breath steady and at ease.

Notice everything around you.

The stillness.

The clear vast blue sky above you.

Notice all the nature around you.

The trees.

The flowers.

Look at the colors and textures around you.

Listen to the sounds of the birds.

Notice the sweet curious bunnies exploring.

Take a deep breath in.

Smell the fragrance from the trees and flowers.

The fresh air.

Notice the vibrant green and fresh grass under your feet.

Feel the warm air against your skin.

From the top of your head down to your toes.

Feel the warm air and the soft grass.

Enjoy how relaxed you feel now.

Just relaxing here in this place.

Finding stillness and ease.

You are grounded in your own power and wisdom.

Trust yourself to connect to this deep peace.

Sinking deeply into your unconscious mind.

Staying there for your benefit.

Feeling so peaceful and so calm.

Letting go of any tension or discomfort.

Cultivating peace and calm.

Feeling comfortable and relaxed.

You are able to rest whenever you need to.

Perhaps you decide to lay down on the soft earth.

Gently feeling your whole body and mind relax.

Being held and supported.

Enjoy this feeling of relaxation for a few moments.

You have now become so relaxed,

The deepest and wisest parts of your mind are open to the seeds we are going to plant together so you can feel at ease,

Grounded and relaxed when you fly on a plane.

You are calm,

Relaxed and able to connect to this feeling in every situation.

You no longer need to fear flying as you know planes are the safest form of transport in the world.

Every time you fly,

You are able to remain completely centered and calm.

Before you fly,

You feel completely secure and safe.

You are so calm and fully relaxed.

That's right.

Before you fly,

You are able to control how you feel and you choose to feel calm and relaxed.

The staff and pilots that work on the plane are highly trained,

Capable and prepared.

You are a relaxed,

Calm person,

Confident and trusting in the abilities of those working on the plane.

Airplanes are amazing machines that have been designed with extreme precision.

Knowing all this,

You are able to let go of any worries or negative thoughts.

You allow yourself to stay calm and relaxed under pressure and while on planes.

You no longer need to fear flying as you know planes are the safest form of transport in the world.

If any worries arise,

You allow them to simply drift away like a cloud passing by.

You are a calm and relaxed person.

You can feel positive about flying.

Just like the bunnies in the garden,

You can enjoy all of life's experiences with calm curiosity.

You realize in every situation,

Including flying on a plane,

You remain calm,

Steady,

Grounded,

At ease and relaxed.

If you desire to sleep or rest now,

You can stay right where you are and simply drift off,

Allowing these seeds to find roots and grow even more.

If you desire to move out of this state of deep relaxation,

You may choose to leave this peaceful garden the same way you entered,

Trusting what we have planted is perfect.
