Took her to daycare with the scooter in the snow It was interesting Hi Maria!
New today from New England!
Hi Betty!
Good morning Natalie!
For those of you who are new My name is Emilio Jose Garcia I've been doing live sessions on Inside Timer for one year I was counting them and I think I'm getting closer to 100 lives now It's pretty crazy!
I do them every week twice Normally Tuesdays and Thursdays That's me!
I have three courses that you can check I have workshops and I have a lot of offerings here on Inside Timer If you need extra support please check those Hi Kelly!
Hi Cecilia!
Good morning all new from your workshop!
Hi Kelly!
Nice to see you here!
It's nice how people come to the live and then they go to the workshop Or they come to the workshop and then they go to the live And then they go to the course and then they come back to the live It's amazing!
So today's topic is all about Talking about the power of being proactive The power of proactivity I felt inspired to choose that topic And sometimes guys I have a very random way of choosing topics I just sit in front of my computer Say ok I have to schedule a few talks Live talks for Inside Timer So what's coming for me right now?
And I kind of check in with myself And this topic came because A lot of you guys you are trying to be more intentional And so many times The approach of being proactive Proactive versus being reactive Can be the difference that you are looking for Ok?
And I'm gonna get into lots of examples So that you can understand what I mean Hi Lisa from Oregon But basically let's get started by defining What does proactive mean?
Like can you guys type on the chat What does proactive mean to you?
What does being proactive mean?
I would like to know what you guys write down Don't look it up just tell me like words Like I don't know being in control Or thinking ahead of time Or I don't know whatever comes for you Just write in the chat what do you think being proactive means?
Taking actions Taking steps Get off my butt ahead of a problem or need See things coming and preparing for them Initiating action Acting from your own heart mind Taking initiative Amazing Making decisions planning and preparing ahead Yeah great so all those things not waiting Yeah just not waiting ok?
Getting my thoughts in order and taking steps and preparing ahead of time Thinking ahead thinking before acting So you guys are describing being more intentional are you?
Would you say that what does being intentional mean?
Would you say that is similar?
Realizing dreams intentional actions planned Aligned timely manner Samantha beautiful Yeah and this is why this topic came to me because I always think about intentionality right?
How can we be more intentional?
Hold on A.
A.
Me absolutely more intentional daily in a timely manner I was thinking like how can we become more intentional?
How can we and being proactive sometimes is the answer You just have to be proactive And being proactive means standing in my own power and manifesting in here and now Love it Bella that's beautiful So you are basically telling me that you are creating what you want to see How cool is that guys?
So you can create what you want to see by being proactive That's pretty cool I mean I created Inside Timer in my life by being proactive right?
Showing up like being here for you guys delivering value And then in one year I made it happen So that's being proactive like showing up thinking ahead of time creating Flowing through what feels aligned to you So I love that one so A definition I found online I just went on Google and found a definition It says Instead of reacting to or worrying about conditions over which they have little or no control Proactive people focus their time and energy on things they can't control So proactive people focus their efforts on their circle of influence Okay?
So did you get that definition?
So they focus on things that they can't control I sometimes fly by the seat of my pants instead of being proactive That's funny Violet Why do you think you do that?
And repeat please okay I will repeat Amy Violet why do you think you do that?
And again this is a great opportunity for you to notice what you do To notice what you think you could do differently And to actually start doing it okay?
But when we are changing habits when we are changing the way we do things We need just reminders we need to remind ourselves in some way Hey I wanted to do this differently Hey I wanted to do this differently Hey I wanted to do this differently a thousand times Because the habit that you are currently doing Was formed by you repeating something over and over and over and over So now you are trying to be more proactive you are trying to be more intentional And then you need to remind yourself of that Being proactive requires commitment Absolutely Violet And that's why being proactive and intentional And really reflecting about why am I doing this And what am I gonna get when I do this What are the benefits of me doing this When you can find those benefits to being amazing,
Inspiring,
Motivating The process itself is gonna be way less painful You are going to stop procrastinating Because what you are working towards it's pulling you You don't have to push yourself Like I have to declare in my home I have to take care of my finances No you are thinking about what's going to happen when I am done with this What am I gonna be able to do How is my life going to change Thinking about those things is going to help you move forward I used to be much more intentional in advance Now my body shows me what tasks I can do My intention is more about alignment with what I want throughout the day Amazing Sometimes I start with good intentions and then I give up when it gets hard Violet I know that and I have seen a lot of people And I myself go through that too That's why the only way to beat that resistance And keep pushing through It's being way more intentional It's putting a lot of energy out In the form of being aware In the form of creating a dream In the form of being positive In the form of showing up as good as you can And thinking always about what's after my journey So the definition Instead of reacting to or worrying about conditions over which they have little or no control Proactive people focus their time and energy on things they can control Proactive people focus their efforts on their circle of influence And I'm going to talk more about the circle of influence And guys you don't have to write this down Be proactive Write yourself a note that says check proactive definition I just went to Google and that's the first one that showed up So if you type proactive definition Proactive meaning you're going to find it So don't worry But that's one definition of thousands So an example is Acting in advance To deal with unexpected change or difficulty We can deal with each problem as it pops up Or we can take a proactive stance and try to prevent future problems So you can try to prevent future problems When a problem shows up you can think proactively and just think How can I make this different next time?
How can I avoid this next time?
How can I change the space so that I don't feel this frustration next time?
How can I control my finances in a way that I don't keep going into debt every month?
How can I change my meal plan so that I can save time,
Save money,
Cook more efficiently and still eat healthy?
You know what I mean?
So you start asking yourself questions You start being proactive How can I make the environment suitable so that I can exercise more regularly?
Maybe putting your shoes,
Your yoga mat,
Everything beautifully set up A candle,
Your computer already plugged in with the video just to press play And the only thing you have to do is just sit there and press play and that's it Maybe you are more likely to exercise at home that way And if you have to think,
Okay I'm gonna exercise,
What is the yoga mat?
What are my running shoes?
I have to move the table away What is the video that I wanted to do?
You know what I mean?
How likely are you to exercise?
Most likely you won't How likely are you if you are proactive the night before?
If you want to do it in the morning say,
Okay Emilio,
Tomorrow morning my intention is to exercise when I get up And I want to do this specific video So I'm gonna set my space,
I'm gonna put my yoga mat,
I'm gonna put my cushions,
I'm gonna put a candle That I can just light up if I want to I'm gonna put the music ready,
I just have to press play and I'm gonna press the video I just have to press play,
That's it So I show up like half awake,
I sit there and I press play and I am doing it I don't have to take extra steps Okay,
So that's one example of being proactive You described my perfectly with exercise story Vicky,
I was listening to someone,
Who was this guy?
Tony Robbins,
He was talking about exercising And a woman was sharing with him the experience of exercising Of going to the gym And then she was describing,
Yeah I want to get out of the house And then I need to get my bag ready I have to find a towel,
I have to find my running shoes And then I don't know where this thing is And then I have to get in my car And I have to do three lights And I have to wait there And I have to look for a parking spot And it's always full And then I get to the gym And then I have to get changed And then he was like,
Oh my god,
Of course you don't go to the gym It's just a nightmare So how can you make that experience more enjoyable?
Okay,
So start thinking about that It's interesting,
I never thought of proactive as solving problems But rather initiating what you want I am not successfully proactive unless I am excited about something There are different ways of using proactivity in your life Okay,
So I want to talk about reactive mindset now Okay,
So proactive versus reactive What does reactive mean to you guys?
What would you say a reactive person is like?
Or what would you say when you are reacting to something?
What does that mean?
Hi Sherry from Alabama Hi Vicki I want to eat more fruits and veggies so I stock my fruits,
Make it easier So acting after the fact So being reactive means acting after the fact Trying to fix a problem after it's already occurred Amazing Deborah?
Beautiful So that's simple,
Right?
So you are just reacting All this happened,
I have to do something about it All this happened,
I have to do something about it All this happened,
I have to do something about it Reactive is flying by the seat of my pants Love it Violet Your comments resonated with me too Violet I think we are kinder spirits Reactive is feeling always in survival mode Survival mode Guys,
How is my circle called?
Thriving,
Your thriving lifestyle I want to help you transition to thriving mode Being reactive is a loss of control I was very reactive when I was drinking alcoholically I had no capacity or resilience to hold space for any difficulty Now I breathe with my intuition and choose Yeah guys,
How likely are you to take control of your life when you are always reacting?
It's very difficult,
You are always reacting How much control do you have?
How much can you create what you want to see in your life when you are reacting to things?
Being reactive is always chasing your tail And you will never get it Morning Emilio I have just started your course Amazing Roxanne,
Which one?
So being reactive,
Let me read you what it means Acting in response to a situation rather than creating or controlling it Let me repeat that for you because I am going to bold a word here Acting in response to a situation rather than creating it or controlling it I love the creating it part Because guys you can create whatever you want But you cannot create what you want when you are just reacting Do you understand the difference here?
Being proactive is about being in control And being in control makes me feel less anxious Amazing Deborah,
Of course it does I am a bit of both But I tend to procrastinate and become reactive instead Violette,
And that's fine The thing here is like how do you feel when you are procrastinating?
Do you enjoy it?
Or do you hate it?
Because if you do hate it then maybe you want to do something about it Again,
This is not something.
.
.
You don't have to change something that is already working Or you don't have to change something in your life that doesn't bother you Some people procrastinate stuff But they don't care because they don't really care about what they are procrastinating in the first place So that's why they don't care But sometimes people are procrastinating important things that they know it's going to benefit them But they just don't know how to get out of that cycle of procrastination They just don't know how to get inspired and motivated So if you are that person,
That's why you came here Because you are trying to find a different way A different approach to do this,
Okay?
Sherry says sorry,
I missed the beginning part My late husband became an addict,
I constantly live in reaction It's a fearful way to live I have made huge changes in our lives Amazing Sherry I record all my sessions so that you guys know,
You can listen to this again Just join my circle or just go to Inside Timer And then you will find on my About tab,
You will find a link And you can find all the recordings in there,
Okay?
I don't enjoy it if it consumes my thoughts So Violette,
If it consumes your thoughts,
You don't like it And if you don't like it,
That means that you are seeking for a different way Hopefully what I'm sharing here resonates with you,
Okay?
Good morning,
Maya Hey,
Maya,
I recognize you from my course Thank you for being here Bingo,
Pamela,
Bingo Okay,
So what else do I have here for you?
Being proactive is the same thing as being reactive Okay,
The only difference is that you do react ahead of time That's actually true But I will say when you are being proactive,
You have the capacity to create Okay,
Guys,
This is so important And this is the difference between you enjoying a beautiful life down the road And you always being a slave of your life Always being a victim of your circumstances And not being able to move forward in the way that feels good to you Okay,
That's why being proactive is so important Okay,
If I am proactive and get inspired,
I am inviting spirit to go create with me Maya,
Love that,
I love that And that's something that I don't know if you guys were present when I did all the series that I did about the law of attraction Okay,
The law of attraction and the importance about you setting the intention You emotionally vibrating in a way that is going to attract It's going to create and attract what you want in your life And you have way more power than you believe But the way for you to start creating is by first knowing what you want Okay,
The first thing is you need to understand what do I really want And be specific And know what you don't want,
What you do want Okay,
Because sometimes I ask someone Hey,
What kind of partner are you looking for And they say,
Yeah,
It has to be,
I don't want him to be late I don't want him or her to don't listen to me I don't want him to say,
Okay,
Let me ask you again What do you want in your partner?
I didn't ask what you don't want So this is the difference,
You start focusing your energy and your time In what you want And forget about what you don't want It doesn't exist anymore That's how when you start being proactive You start focusing your energy,
Your systems,
Your strategies,
Your time Into just what you want And you don't waste any more time in even thinking what you don't want Okay Roxanne,
Our subject today is being proactive Okay,
Being proactive,
But everything is connected guys That's why sometimes we go into tangents Because everything is connected here So,
What is your circle of influence?
So when you are a proactive person Okay,
You are going to start focusing on the things that you can control Okay,
So what can you guys control?
Just think about your life,
What can you control in your life?
Thank you for your donation Maja Thank you Roxanne,
I hope I clear the topic today is The power of being proactive So Roxanne says I can only change myself We can change our behavior What else can we change?
What else do we have control over?
Our reactions,
Our attitude,
Our thoughts Can we change other people?
The staff,
Our homes Can we change other people?
Can we change the weather?
Can we change the politics?
Can we change COVID?
Can we change something that happened in the past?
Can we change something that happened in the past?
So that's why,
So then Don't waste any more time on what you don't want So powerful,
Yeah So guys,
Why would you waste time Even thinking about things that you cannot control?
Another example of reactive versus proactive people Here we are in lockdown now Okay,
Lockdown meaning that restaurants are closed The gym is closed so I cannot do what I used to I cannot do yoga,
I cannot go to play squash So some people say,
Oh my god,
This sucks I don't know what to do now,
I'm gonna get fat This sucks,
I cannot see people And it's like,
And I was thinking,
Okay Emilio How can I avoid going there?
How can I avoid being negative?
How can I be proactive in this situation?
Okay,
Let's make a list of things that I can do So I can snowboard I can cross-country skiing I can go outside with my daughter I can still do takeout I cannot play squash but I can exercise in different ways outside So I started thinking about that and I got excited And then guess what happens?
A friend just reached out,
Out of the blue Hey,
Do you wanna go snowboarding tomorrow?
It's like,
That's interesting Yes I do,
Actually,
Let's go And then we had a blast So most likely I would not have gone snowboarding if the gym was open So again,
Being proactive means focusing on what you can control Not what you cannot control Okay,
It's all kinda on lockdown No,
This works by province Ontario is in,
It's not lockdown that we have to be home But they have closed some of the businesses to avoid the spread of the COVID But again,
So things that you can control You guys say pretty much all of them Like your attitude,
Your mood,
Your reaction to things How you treat people What you focus on,
Your thoughts How you feel,
It's a reflection of what you think of And what you experience emotionally So you can choose to be happy If you start focusing on gratitude And all the beautiful things that you have around you I guarantee you that you will feel gratitude and happiness very quickly If you are always focusing on what's wrong in the world What's wrong around you You are always going to feel pessimistic Okay,
So again,
I'm not saying that you have to ignore what's happening But why do you place so much energy into that?
If you cannot change it Okay,
Our thoughts,
Very important So things that you cannot control Other people,
The weather Things that you did wrong in the past Things that you did wrong in the past You cannot change that The only thing that you can change is How you react when you think about that How you maybe solve How you maybe treat people that were involved Maybe you go and apologize with them Maybe you just go and forgive them Maybe internally you just do work to release that kind of energy And start loving yourself That's what you can do But you cannot change what happened How other people treat you You cannot change that The only thing that you can do is create healthy boundaries Communicate clearly that what they are doing is hurting you And if they don't stop doing it then just distance yourself But you cannot change what they do And stuff like that So think about your circle of influence And then how can you be more proactive Okay,
Thank you for comment on the past Yeah,
Steve This is very important And we all get caught in this We all get caught in past events that happened And they weigh us down energetically,
Emotionally They just drain us Because we didn't cope with them Because we didn't process them And sometimes they are gonna be there for the rest of our lives And we just have to learn how to live with them Okay But there is proactive stuff that you can do You can think how can I react differently to this memory that I have How can I react differently to this thing that happened to me What is a different approach Okay,
And sometimes we are so anxious about the future So anxious about what happens if I don't make enough money What happens if I don't have work next year What happens if COVID never stops What happens if And then you go down that rabbit hole And then you just start worrying too much about something that is not real It's a possibility,
Yeah But there are thousands of possibilities,
Right And then you get to choose which one But sometimes you just have to be proactive and say Okay,
It's not worth my time or energy to To place so much energy into that thing that I have no control over I don't know what's gonna happen And if it happens,
It happens So a fan phrase If I have one foot in the past and one foot in the future Then I am in the present moment That's funny What if this is the best thing happening Yeah,
Sometimes,
Guys Let me tell you one thing very clearly If COVID didn't happen,
I wouldn't be here Why?
Because most likely I would have kept doing and working how I was working before I would not have joined a program that I joined I would not have discovered this program made and went to her website And saw Inside Timer and then questioned myself What is Inside Timer?
And then went to the platform And then had the time to upload some audios And then do these live sessions So never of this would have happened To me,
This was a benefit of COVID For example So this is just,
Again,
There is a lot of suffering too Lots of people that have gone through rough times for sure I'm not neglecting that or forgetting that But I cannot change that I cannot control that The only thing that I can control is my circle of influence So my circle of influence when it comes to COVID is How can I stay safe while still living life?
How can I make people comfortable by me clearly asking What do you need to feel comfortable when I'm with you?
You need a mask?
You need me to keep distance?
You just want to do online meetings?
I want to see you How can I see you in a way that makes you comfortable?
And then just asking and making people feel comfortable In whatever way they need That's my circle of influence Adapting is critical COVID brought me to Inside Timer So,
See,
More people came here because of COVID Okay,
I want to share a lot of examples that I have Tangible ones so that you can see how Proactivity looks like in my own life So that you can maybe get inspired by some of these things Or maybe you can share something that you are doing that is being proactive So if you are doing something right now that you feel that you are being proactive Please share it in the comments so that we can know And we can learn from you Okay?
So,
Let's get started with being proactive For example,
I want to show you this This was back when my daughter had probably like three or four months I remember I was taking care of her I remember I went to a coffee place And then I started drawing this And honestly,
I had no idea what I was doing But my intention was I want to draw my ideal lifestyle I want to set the intention on what I would like to do So I started drawing stuff and then of course my family was in the middle And I put a heart on this And then I started drawing things around That made sense to me So basically this means This is my family And then this is how I give to the world So this is me creating content in different forms And then I put it in,
I throw it into the world And then the world gets value from it They send me back money and love And they change their lives in different ways And that supports me And then I have my house And I have all my hobbies here So everything kind of like came out like this And this is my life vision This is what I want to create for myself Okay?
Another way to being creative and proactive It's about creating your own self-care list Something that I always invite people to do Like how many of you have a self-care list by now?
Just say,
Do you have a self-care list?
Or you don't know what a self-care list is?
Yes,
Yes And it's fine if you don't have one,
That's fine But I talk about this all the time Because this is being proactive Okay?
So what does a self-care list means?
It's basically you just grab a piece of paper And you just write down a few things I will encourage you I will challenge you to come up with 10 things Activities that you can do That makes you feel well Anytime you are not feeling well You can do one of those activities And then you feel better Okay?
What are those?
They don't have to require money They don't have to require a lot of time You should be able to do them anywhere you are So some examples Like this is one example Going for a walk Practicing deep breathing a few times People watching in a park Listening to my favorite music Calling a friend who listens Okay?
Cooking a nice meal Having a bath Playing a game Reading a book These are some examples,
Okay?
So I needed to take it to the next level Because I have I was thinking how can I be How can I be proactive And create a self-care list that That I can do anywhere I am And I can do it when I'm with my daughter Eva I can do it when I'm with Samantha With my wife I can do it when I am alone And things that I can do when I'm feeling like exercise Things that I can do when I need relaxing time Things that I can do for social Things that I can do to learn and to be creative Okay?
So this is what I created This is me being proactive Okay?
And I create a self-care list that shows everything that I can do And I have Things that I can do in less than five minutes Things that I can do that are relaxing and fun Things that I can do that are sport and exercise Things that I can do with Eva For example,
Here I have I can rollerblade with Eva And I can push her in a stroller I have I can go for a bike ride I can go for a With a sled in the winter that she loves I can juggle my balls with her and she likes it I can play the DJ dido and she enjoys that I can play catch with her We can fly a kite We can read stories We can color I can do an activity,
A craft So all these things are Really,
Really nice things,
Okay?
So one way of being intentional Creating It's so many lists So how to integrate into one daily or where do you post this?
So T This is fine And I understand that if you are looking at the list for the first time You are like,
Whoa,
That's way too much But that's my evolution Evolution is gonna look different for each of you If you have never done it You will start with this And you will create a bullet,
Three bullet points Three things And then you will start practicing them And then when you start doing that I've been doing this for years So now I have the capacity to create that That flew out of me I didn't have to think about it,
Okay?
But yeah,
How do you integrate that in your life?
Very good question And this is what I'm gonna show you next Okay?
So how can you be proactive And integrate things in your life?
With another exercise that I always talk about Creating your ideal week How many people here have an ideal week?
Okay?
So this is another exercise Before doing my ideal week I do this exercise I set my intention in every area of my life I think about What do I want to see in my body?
What do I want to see in my mind?
What do I want to see for family?
And again,
You don't have to write that These are three or four things each For example What do I want to see in my family time?
I want to share Eva with my family So go to Spain I want to participate 50% in Eva's care And give some breaks I did that Allow my family to enjoy Eva So that facilitating visits with Samantha's parents Be more intentional Time with Eva when I'm with her So stop using my phone and being present with her Doing actually engaging with her So these are some of my family stuff Again,
You start thinking and reflecting about What do you want to see in every area of your life?
And you don't have to work on all of them all at once either You can just select one area And focus on that Okay?
And then when you do that Then you do what I call creating your ideal week That your ideal week can look like something like this Right?
You have Monday to Friday Or Monday to Sunday If you want to include the weekends And then you start coloring in here the things that you are doing Like,
Okay,
I go to bed at 11pm I wake up at 7,
7.
30am And then I have lunch at 12 I have dinner at 6 And then one day I alternate I have to cook and do dishes And then I have to take care of Eva half of the day If she is not in daycare And then I have to work I have to do my inside timer lives So I start putting the activities in my week And then a lot of resistance is going to show up When you are doing this exercise guys It's not easy And you may be thinking that's a waste of time That's too overwhelming I will never do that That's not going to help me Of course not If you are resisting something Most likely you have to do it I resisted that exercise for a long time And I had to start doing this So what's this?
I started tracking my week Because I could not do that exercise My wife,
This was back in 2018 or 17 I just couldn't do it Samantha was telling me Emilio what's going on with you?
Come on,
You teach this You have to do this And I was like I can't I don't want to do it I don't need to do it And it's like no,
You have to You have to do it So I couldn't do it guys I just couldn't So I started doing this I started tracking my time Because at that time I was evolving a lot I was doing a lot of new things And I had no idea where to put things into So from here I tracked my weeks a few times And then I was so overwhelmed That I decided to just start with the basics Okay?
And the basics were this I only put sleeping time,
Lunch time,
Dinner time And I put sport And that's pretty much it And I put a little bit of meditation In the middle of the day And that's it guys I couldn't put anything else But this was my starting point And then from here I started building And building and building And then when we had our daughter Eva Samantha and I,
My wife and I We had to start setting more intention Because Eva requires a lot of time If you guys are parents You know what I'm talking about So this was the first schedule that we created Once Eva started sleeping more or less This is the first one that we created And we said okay let's alternate three hour seats And see what happens So we did this for a little bit And then after a few months We said it's not working anymore Because three hours is not enough time To get into the mood of anything So from that one Then we evolved into this one And then we started doing half days And then she started going to daycare So you see like It's like it's just evolving You just keep evolving Emilio when tracking Do you put in every single thing you have done Or more general No when I was tracking my time Amy I brought everything down So this is how it looks like I don't know if you can see it I forced myself to write everything down And guess what happened Guess what happened Amy I started writing down And I started to notice things right away Because I was checking my email Check email I was checking my email ten minutes later Check email And then I realized Emilio why are you checking your emails Like every ten minutes It's just not necessary And then same with a lot of stuff And then something that I also did Was like okay I have no idea how to create my week So how can I I just created a list Okay I started creating a list Of responsibilities that I had For personal and for work And then How much time do I need on a weekly basis To do each of these things Okay And then that was really helpful Because I don't have to put a specific task A specific day And this is something Amy that I share with you Okay Amy I share with you that You cannot put something a specific day or time Because your energy levels are not consistent And your health is not consistent So you have to be more gentle with yourself So this is what I did Blogging I was writing blogs So I have to spend two hours a week I have to do an email newsletter One hour a week I have to create courses I allow myself two to six hours a week I have to do all the editing work That's two hours a week I have to do speaking And create the power points That's two hours a week I have to work with people one on one That's eight hours one day So you know what I mean I start tracking this And then once I had this clear I started putting this in my week And now my week looks nice My week makes sense And it keeps evolving every week Every month every year Okay So that's another way For you to be intentional Okay Another way for you to be intentional Do you guys want more examples Or are you done Emilio can you show the weekly color coded again Yeah this is just one example team This is just one example Okay I don't want to spend more time on the week Because next session is gonna be about time management And we can dive way deeper into that But something else that I want to show you Okay That it was a game changer for us What's about like for example meal planning Okay We were struggling with meal planning My wife and I Who is cooking when What are we cooking What do we need to buy Who is going grocery shopping And it was stressful So we wanted to create a meal plan Breakfast lunch and dinner So we started and then this was a list That I created for myself And then I brainstormed How can I be proactive here So breakfast ideas And I brought everything that I didn't think about That I can make without thinking It's simple So I have breakfast sausage Fruit smoothie Milk and Cheerios Pancake and fruit Scrambled eggs Peanut butter toast Blah blah Lunch and dinner ideas The same thing And then when I had this I created a shopping list Okay And then when I had that I transferred that into a week That looks like this And then all of a sudden I had a week With basic meals that I can make And then a grocery list So I can just go to the grocery store Buy what's on the list And I know I'm covered for a week That's a great way of doing it Being proactive We were frustrated Samantha and I About cooking and doing dishes So we tested a bunch of things And now how it's working out Is like one day she cooks and does the dishes And the following day I cook and do the dishes One time I go grocery shopping And the next time she goes grocery shopping And that's how we alternate That's how it makes sense for us Where do you keep these lists?
On the wall?
On the fridge We have it on the fridge I am procrastinating on starting to use my planner Examples of tracking when you First started please Yeah so when we first started Maybe we didn't do the whole week Just start with just doing lunches Or maybe just dinners Start just doing dinners And then you have one meal covered Once that's a habit You include lunches And that's what Once that's a habit You can even include breakfast If you want and snacks But get started maybe two meals a week And then once you are consistently doing that Then you up to three meals a week And then four meals a week And then you start building The important is to start gaining momentum So if it's overwhelming for you To do a whole meal plan Don't start there Start with one meal a week Two meals a week And then three meals a week And make a list of meals that are easy for you to make That you don't have to think They are not complicated Okay?
One more example guys Can you see that?
Samantha made this Samantha made this back in I think it was 2016 maybe Or 2015 And this represented us This was us Sitting on the desk Trying to figure out how to create a business How to manage our business And all the things that we had to do Okay?
This was us guys And one of the things that we We started to be proactive Is like oh my god there is so much to do here So how can we start making systems here to be proactive So that every month it gets easier So this is one example Of something that Samantha created We created this together And then she created this digital thing And this is The system that we follow when people reach us out Because we were having people reaching us right?
Through email,
Through social media Calling us It's like I don't know how are we managing that And we were doing something different every single time So we started to track the steps We started to be proactive And then we started to say okay What do we want to happen When someone contacts us through phone Through a phone call What do we want to happen when someone contacts us online And then we started to do this And then we started doing this on a piece of paper by hand And then we started to test the system Add steps,
Remove steps,
Change the order And let me tell you that three months later We tagged this in And this helped us save lots of time This helped us like delegate this to other people if we wanted to And we both knew exactly what to do and how it works And then we created a form on our website And that form gave us all the answers that we needed And then when they called us We directed them to the form first That was our system Because that way we don't waste time on the phone And that way the person has time to think about it So we created this process And that saves us a lot of time every month Okay?
And the last You want to see the last before I go?
I don't know how to keep up with the long comments Excellent idea Plus doing outreach Yeah sorry guys I'm missing a lot of comments Looking into a meal delivery now to simplify my week Yeah so do you guys want to see the last one or are you done for today?
These are great I agree with Amy It would be great to have a full session on how to create your ideal week What?
That's happening the next session is all about time management So we're gonna do that Emilio can you do a whole session on how to track and create an ideal week?
Yes I can You should do a workshop Well guys the workshop that I'm currently doing that is a two day workshop We're actually now doing this exercise And I think Kelly is in the workshop She's actually doing that exercise I gave it to them prior to the workshop They work through it,
They face resistance They are working through it all this week And then the next call that is on Monday we're gonna dive even deeper on that And we have the time to connect person by person and then work through the struggles Okay?
So I have another workshop coming up in March that you can sign up It's a five day workshop and we're gonna have time to dive into that exercise in there too So if you guys want a workshop that one covers that exercise and much more Okay?
Oh I'm going to message you Very helpful Okay guys so I think that's a I feel myself getting overwhelmed and shutting down As a single parent I have no one to share Disresponsibilities with hence my difficulty Yeah so Dina that's why it's even more important to you I work with a lot of single moms too And single dads and sometimes that's the most important for you to simplify your life To make You have to be even more proactive Because if you don't life eats you alive Life eats you in all directions So if you don't start being more proactive You start simplifying your life as much as you can Going back to the basics And guys I see this from like I was working yesterday with a single mom And she was just being eaten alive with clothes With calendar tasks With like finances And she just didn't know what to do I said you have to simplify you have to make things more manageable You have to make your life more simple If you don't do that life is just gonna keep eating you So she has like I don't know how many clothes I don't know how many And it's like why do you need so many Why do you have to have such huge laundry loads Why do you have to manage so many toys Why do you need to do so many activities You know what I mean like You have to simplify your life You have to be more proactive Especially if you are in a difficult life state If you are a single dad,
Single mom Or if you are just too busy Simplify as much as you can everything Be proactive,
Be intentional Okay Okay guys Time is up I don't know if you have a last question that I can answer But I know that sometimes These are lots of ideas But I want you to take I want you to take one thing from this talk Okay And this life is Being proactive versus being reactive When you are on a proactive mode Every time you are facing a challenge You are not just reacting to it and getting it done You are thinking How can I make this not happen next time How can I avoid this Is there a different way that I can make this situation better next time Okay And then think about specifically For example With the woman that I was working yesterday I have so many toys How can you manage toys more easily Maybe by having less Maybe by rotating toys Maybe by putting some in box Maybe by creating permanent homes for every loose toys that you have together Maybe by starting to implement a cleaning and maintenance system with your daughter Maybe by teaching her how to put things back How can I avoid laundry How can you How can you be proactive around laundry And then start thinking and questioning And try and test different approaches That's what being proactive means And I am inviting you to do that In whatever area of your life you are trying to change Okay Emilio tell people about your YouTube channel It's awesome because you can pause and rewatch So Amy and everybody here Inside Timer has a policy that I am not allowed to share anything in here That is outside of Inside Timer I apologize for being so not convenient Because I would love to share links to the recordings And links to everything that I have Because I have a lot of stuff everywhere But if you are proactive You will just type my name on Google and you will find me Okay so that's as much as I can say And if you are proactive you will go to my profile on Inside Timer You will go to the about tab And you will find a link that goes to my website And when you are there you will see everything I have to offer and more And if you are proactive and you read my bio You will see that my business is called KW Professional Organizers So you just type that on Google and I will show up So again guys be proactive in your life Okay And yes I record all the lives I do record them and you can find them In the Inside Timer link on my profile Okay So guys I am wishing you a proactive weekend A proactive rest of your week And I will see you on Tuesday where we are going to be talking about Intentional time management So if you want to design your ideal week come to that talk And if you want to take it further Check my courses because be proactive and check everything I have to offer Check my courses Check my recordings And then check my workshops And if you get value from these sessions You can't even imagine how much you are going to get from a workshop It's going to be like times a hundred So only if it's the right time for you Okay Guys I have to go now I need to be proactive and live okay Thank you so much for being here I will see you on Tuesday Have a wonderful weekend okay Adios
