We often hold onto thoughts, stresses, and worries without realising how it is impacting the way that we feel. What if we could release those to give our minds a break? Even if only for a little while. This meditation is designed to help you to identify what is weighing on your mind and to allow it to release.

Begin by bringing your awareness to your breath.

Taking nice deep inhales.

Releasing and letting go with the exhale.

Bringing yourself into this present moment.

Keeping any external thoughts or worries or anxieties to the side for now.

Noticing if there's any tension in your body,

Just scanning.

It might feel a little bit tight,

Like it is carrying any stress,

Any worries,

Any anxieties.

Just breathing into those areas.

Sending oxygen to those places.

And as you exhale,

Feeling it melting away.

Now imagine that you are standing in a field.

And you can see yourself standing in this field as if you are looking at yourself from about five feet away.

Just noticing your body.

It's outlined in your silhouette.

Seeing that you can see outside of your physical body,

Your energetic body,

Your aura that surrounds you.

What is the energy or the colour of that aura?

And then extending further beyond your aura,

You can see your thoughts that are attached to you like helium balloons.

They're floating all around you and tied into you with their string.

Just take some time to notice each balloon.

With each thought,

Some might be challenging,

Some might be positive or hopeful.

Some might be about work,

Relationships,

Health,

Or a to-do list.

Just taking stock of all of these attachments and all of these balloons.

And you might notice as you bring these balloons into awareness that your emotions might change,

Your feelings might change depending on which balloon it is.

I invite you to pick one that doesn't really feel so good,

Might feel heavy,

Might feel a bit gross.

I'm just going to untie that balloon as you watch it float away up into the sky.

Just taking those thoughts with it.

And you don't have to go forever just for this time that we're here,

Allowing ourselves the space and time away from them.

Just noticing how you feel after releasing that.

And then looking at your balloons again and seeing what is the second heaviest balloon that you'd like to release and let go of.

Again,

You're going to untie that balloon,

Watching it float up,

Watching those feelings float up just to leave you for now for this time that we're here.

Once you have released it and lost sight of it in the sky,

Again,

Just notice how you feel,

Maybe a little bit lighter,

Maybe not.

Whatever you feel is perfectly okay.

You're going to find that third and final balloon.

Maybe something that is less intense than the first two,

But still something that is on your mind or has been on your mind for a while,

Or is recurring thought.

And as you untie it and releasing it,

Letting go of the thoughts,

Noticing how that feels as you watch it float up to the sky.

And checking with yourself,

Your breath,

Noticing how you feel in your body,

In your mind,

And in your heart.

And again,

Seeing yourself in this field with your thought balloons and your aura and your silhouette.

Notice if anything has changed about these things since we released those three balloons.

And then bringing your awareness back to the room.

And then just relaxing your body in the physical plane,

Adding some movement,

Maybe wiggling your finger,

Curling your toes.

And taking a nice big inhale as you exhale,

Releasing anything else that you need to release.

Do that one more time,

Inhaling,

And exhale,

Let it all out.
