Welcome and thank you for joining me.

My name is Elliot and I'll be your guide for this meditation.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming,

Unbearable,

Or pointless.

We all face challenges each day and when we do,

We want to be strong.

We want to be able to create our own reality from the situation instead of acquiescing to the one being handed to us or shoved in our face.

We want to be the master of our destiny,

The captain of our ship,

The ruler of our world.

We are all capable of losing our balance,

Perspective,

And motivation from time to time.

Yet we are also capable of gaining absolute mastery of our energy systems to create the life we want for ourselves to the point where life around you literally arranges itself to match the energy within you.

When we need to regain a sense of placement and ease with life,

One thing is certain.

We need to get out of the way of ourselves.

What I mean by that is,

We are life.

We are a reflection of everything.

We are a part of everything.

To experience that oneness and place of feeling like we are in the right place at the right time,

In the right body with the right mind,

And everything is working together,

We just need to remove the eye from the equation to see the answer.

Sometimes we're just too full of ourselves to see the bigger picture.

In this meditation,

I will be offering you guidance and a few simple techniques to help you do that and improve the quality of your life without having to do anything drastic.

Absolute freedom and boundlessness awaits you in every moment of your life.

Settle into a cross-legged posture with your hands open facing upward.

Maintain a straight back with its natural curves.

With your face slightly upturned,

Allow your focus to rest between the eyebrows.

Then gently close the eyes and mouth.

Check in with the body.

Observe any sensations.

Check in with the mind.

Each thought is a cloud drifting by.

Check in with your emotions.

Slowly notice any impulsive reactions.

The breath is relaxed and natural.

Your breath is a reflection of how you live your life.

By anchoring into the present moment with your natural breathing cycle,

You can experience life as you want it.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

You're just noticing how it feels to be seated here in this present moment.

Now,

Continue to draw the focus of your attention to the breath.

Allow your awareness to ride the shifting tides of the natural and full breath.

Follow the breath all the way from the entrance of your nostrils down to your belly,

Filling out the lungs and chest.

Just feel the entire body gently expand and become full of air.

Follow the breath all the way in and then all the way out.

All the way in and all the way out.

For the next few moments,

Keep your awareness on the breath,

Observing how energy is carried in with the breath and how energy is carried out with the breath.

Feel the breath animating your body as you progressively allow it to be breathed all on its own,

Rhythmically,

Naturally,

At ease.

In rising,

Out falling.

In expanding,

Out contracting.

In rising,

Out falling.

In expanding,

Out contracting.

Next,

A quote by Mahatma Gandhi.

Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

It's okay if distractions come up or you're not totally at ease yet.

Come back to this very moment with your breath moving in and out of you,

Becoming thinner and thinner,

Lighter and lighter.

Continue at your own natural pace as your energies further sync up with the breath.

Breathing easily and fully is one of the basic yet most ecstatic pleasures of being alive.

When we are in touch with our breath,

With an erect spine,

The experience brings us closer to life and our own divinity.

The way you think and feel is determining the very quality of your experience of life.

If you can enjoy simply sitting and breathing,

Then you can enjoy life without the eye overriding your experience as you allow life to breathe you.

In rising,

Out falling.

In galaxies,

Out body.

In galaxies,

Out body.

In galaxies,

Out body.

Right now,

The flowers are blooming in the tree.

That doesn't determine the quality of your life.

Right now,

The mailman is delivering the daily mail.

That doesn't determine the quality of your life.

Right now,

The stock market is fluctuating.

This also does not determine the quality of your life.

What does determine the quality of your life is your ability to think and feel how you want.

If you're not in charge of how you think and feel,

Then who is?

When your psychological reality is determining the very fundamentals of your life,

Not your existential reality,

Then anything can throw you off balance or get you lost.

You're at the whim of the impulsive reactions you have when you're not fully aware.

Like one of those inflatable dancing men you see at the car washes.

They're up and they're down,

This way and that,

All depending on which way the air and wind is blowing.

Come down to the existential,

The right now,

The sensation of breathing,

The act of simply being without the desire to add I into the equation.

If this is of great difficulty,

It may be that you're too enamored with your own creation.

Psychological reality is your creation.

Existential reality is the creator's creation.

Don't be too full of yourself.

Allow life,

Which is already happening all around you and within you,

To take up more of your existential reality.

Let life breathe you.

In rising.

Out falling.

In expanding.

Out contracting.

In rising.

Out falling.

Out contracting.

Out contracting.

Out contracting.

Out contracting.

You want to fly?

You got to give up the shit that weighs you down.

This quote by Toni Morrison reminds me that when we drop the story of me,

Me,

Me,

Me,

An open experiential reality to include all life without any discrimination,

We can sense the stability and wonderful nature of our existence without having to do anything but sit down and shut up.

Remember,

Just breathing can make you ecstatic.

It's up to you for how you wish to breathe,

Which ultimately puts you in the driver's seat of your life.

Remember,

The quality of your breath determines the quality of your life.

Let life be beautiful.

The following mantra is for ourselves to be of true nature.

Act with care.

Every decision I make has repercussions.

Imposing my will upon life will not lead to happiness.

But letting go and working with what already exists will increase my capacity to be fulfilled.

Everything I'm searching for is already within me.

I am all I need.

In bringing this meditation to a close,

Come back to a full awareness of the body.

Recognizing that awareness contains everything we are,

Gently take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in and breathe out.

Take your own time in slowly opening the eyes once again.

See if you can take this quality of awareness with you into your day,

Into your life.

May your presence be your blessing to yourself and to all.

Reminds me to leave " I " at home and experience the day as a human Be-ing... but usually " I " follows along, just the same, like a puppy or child who doesn't want to be left behind. Adding a year later: interesting to read my thoughts from last year. Today I thought "How do I live without 'I' when I am everything that I need? I = Ego / I Am = Being 'I' truly is that pesky, younger child who says "Look at Me! Are you watching? " while longing to be just like 'I Am' when I grows up. I/Ego is my inner child?
