You Welcome.
During this meditation you'll have the opportunity to reset your nervous system,
Dial down stress,
And take on a wonderful feeling of relaxation within the body and mind.
You'll be using your awareness,
The breath,
And the practice of disconnecting from one thing and focusing on another.
You should be left with a disciplined sense of being through opening up to your inner awareness,
Releasing tension and aggression as you invite peace and harmony.
Settle into a cross-legged posture with the hands open facing upward.
Maintain a straight back with its natural curves and with the face slightly upturned,
Allow your focus to rest between the eyebrows and when you're ready gently close the eyes and mouth.
I'd like to first acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which this meditation was created and will be practiced on around the world.
I call on the spirit ancestors to walk with us as we share and learn together.
I acknowledge that they have occupied and cared for this space over countless generations and I celebrate their continuing contribution to the life of this planet.
Any donations made will be paid to help the relief in Australia for the bushfires.
Our minds have been given too much power.
Some of us are controlled by the mind.
The nature of the mind is that it will always keep running around and doing what it wants unless it is tamed.
The fact is the mind is incredibly powerful,
Perhaps the most intelligent machine we know.
Yet I see so many who haven't got a clue how to use the mind and there's always excuses.
When we take that power back we create responsibility.
Responsibility for this moment Responsibility for this mind,
For this power,
For this opportunity to lead,
For this life,
For all life.
We become responsible for something that can give us purpose.
We learn to not give too much attention to the mind because there is more to life.
There is the experiential reality to life which could have more to do with the body or nothing at all.
As we enter a meditative state together let's remind ourselves that if the mind wants to take over it's our responsibility to tame it and to remind ourselves that there is this body,
This experience of presence and spirit.
So let's take a moment to make sure we're comfortable.
Maybe you could adjust yourself a bit to be more relaxed and alert and just feel the floor beneath you.
How does it feel to be supported by something we might take for granted?
We are here simply sitting putting our awareness on the supportive floor.
This floor is the beginning to us giving our bodies the chance to reset,
Recharge and relax deeply.
Your breath is easily coming in and going out.
There is no force given.
You don't need to try to breathe.
You are simply breathing.
It is just as natural as the trees growing,
As the wind blowing,
As the rain falling,
As the birds singing.
Your entire body is a structure of peace,
A highly intelligent factory of everything we need to flourish and grow.
This breath is the beginning of everything.
The kind of breath that you have shows something about the health that you're experiencing being alive.
Let's take the next few moments to focus on the things that you are experiencing.
Let's take a moment to focus on the things that you are experiencing.
It's about being aware of that you're in that state of being alive.
Let's take the next few moments to focus on the breath and allow it to be complete and easy.
Feeling the air gently come in through the nostrils,
Passing down through the chest And then gently releasing,
Feeling the abdomen shrink and the need for air to arise again.
Effortlessly in.
Effortlessly out.
Effortlessly in.
Effortlessly out.
Effortlessly in.
Effortlessly out.
Effortlessly out.
Effortlessly in.
With each exhale,
Gently give yourself permission to release anything.
Maybe it's stress.
Maybe it's tension in the body.
Maybe it's something to do with a relationship.
Whatever it may be,
Let it be.
And direct it out of the body.
Out of the experiential reality that you are feeling.
And feel it leaving.
The more you breathe,
The more distance it takes.
The more space you fill within you is clear.
Your breath is a powerful tool to cleanse the mind and body.
Use it now to create cleansing energy within you.
Being responsible for the breath also means that you gain a taste of its ability to change the way you think,
Feel and behave.
The breath is an expression of your consciousness.
How graceful can you allow the breath to be?
Simply breathing.
Just here.
Sitting.
Clearing space.
Any thoughts are just clouds passing by your great blue sky mind.
Any sensations within the body are simply there.
Breathe through it.
Any emotions that come up can be acknowledged and then put back down as you refocus on the breath.
Allow the neck and shoulders to soften.
Allow the muscles in your face and back to unwind from their habitual holding.
Feel it all becoming loose,
Fluid and relaxed.
Feel your breath flow from the top of your head down through the entire body to the tips of your toes.
As you feel each breath,
It helps increase a sense of calming in your nervous system and it fills out your body with a warm,
Soothing light.
In this state,
We are setting ourselves up for a reset with our nervous system and we are recalibrating our body's chemistry to allow the natural state of being to take place.
Again,
If any thoughts come up,
They are just clouds passing by the great blue sky mind.
Any bodily sensations that arise,
They are simply there and you can gently breathe through it,
Putting the attention on the breath.
If any emotions pop up,
We can acknowledge it and then put it back down.
Effortlessly in and effortlessly out.
There's nowhere you need to be but here.
You are safe and in a state of harmony.
Your body is creating a chemistry for peace.
Your body is creating a chemistry for peace.
Serenity fills your experience of being.
The mind is on vacation.
You feel good.
You are here and now.
You are safe.
There's nowhere you need to be but here.
Your body is creating a chemistry for peace.
Serenity fills your experience of being.
Serenity fills your experience of being.
The mind is on vacation.
You feel good.
You are here and now.
You are safe.
You are here and now.
You are safe.
You are here and now.
In getting ready to return in a moment,
Allow something you're grateful for to come to mind.
Let the feeling of gratitude radiate throughout the body and feel what takes place in your heart.
Allowing this power to vitalize you as you choose how you'd like to go forward in the day.
Holding onto this feeling of gratitude.
This feeling of gratitude to intensify.
Expanding a little more with each inhale.
And clearing more space within your being with each exhale.
Gratitude soaking every cell of your body.
It is a miracle to be alive.
It is a miracle to have this capacity to feel gratitude.
It is a miracle to hold this awareness,
This consciousness for everything.
Take a deep,
Slow breath as you bring your attention back into this room and ready to go forward into the day.
Thank you for sharing your meditation practice with me.
Namaste.
