Do you ever feel like there's a certain quality of intimacy missing in your life?

Have you ever noticed how modern living can encourage less and less personal interactions throughout your busy day?

We often hide behind roles and impersonal transactions to avoid the intimacy of truly relating to each other throughout the day.

In this meditation,

I'm going to shed light on this issue and show you how to attract more presence,

Genuine people,

And intimacy in your everyday life.

Find a quiet place to sit.

Do what you can to prevent distractions.

Be seated in any meditative posture and allow yourself to be comfortable.

Place your hands on your knees and slightly draw in your chin and rest your gaze on the space just ahead of you.

If you prefer,

Now is the time to gently close your eyes and mouth.

Let's start by taking a deep breath in through the nose and out through the nose.

Rest your attention on your breath.

It will be your anchor throughout this meditation.

If thoughts arise,

Acknowledge them and let them go.

Simply return to the breath.

Allow each inhalation and exhalation to bring you clear presence and awareness of your own body and mind right now.

Furthermore,

Give yourself permission to relax,

Unwind,

And allow the natural state of being to fill this space.

Breathe in relaxation.

Breathe out any tension you're holding.

Breathe in love.

Breathe out courage.

A passenger pays a bus driver to board the bus.

A customer orders food from a waitress.

The postman brings a package to an address.

A doctor writes a prescription for a patient.

An employee fulfills someone's online order over a computer from the other side of the planet.

Today many of us can go through an entire day without having to personally interact with anyone.

More and more of our daily interactions with others are impersonal.

Society tries to teach us that in return we're living more convenient and productive lives.

For myself,

I can say that I have so many examples over the years of tender,

Powerful interactions between so-called strangers.

I don't feel singular when I can say that I live for this connection sometimes.

Some of us are simply not happy with walking around and pretending we don't see each other.

If you're interested in creating more sacred space for inviting intimacy into your life,

Recognizing that this impersonal way of living was adopted at some point in your life and admitting that you have the ability to change it is the first step towards living a deeper,

Richer and more genuine life.

The first question you can ask yourself is,

How do I feel during these types of impersonalized interactions?

And how does it affect my attitude and health?

It's quite possible that we've never taken the time to understand how this process affects us.

So there's going to be levels of uncovering the truth perhaps.

To really see these effects and find the answer for change,

Let's first connect with the breath and get in touch with the presence that dwells within us during these interactions.

Let's take in some nice,

Relaxed breaths of air.

Breathe in.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Breathe out.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Breathe in.

Two.

Four Breathe in two three four Three bout two three four Now put yourself in a situation where you repeatedly experience a lack of intimacy,

But would like this to change.

Is it an interaction with the barista in the morning?

Is it with someone in the workplace?

Does it happen in your love life?

Whatever situation it may be,

Simply put yourself within your body and go through the experience in your mind,

Paying close attention to everything you can notice and how it's affecting you.

There's likely some subtleties in there which haven't been explored yet.

Take your time,

Concentrate on presence of being in the moment.

Explore the emotional charge within your body at this time.

And now sing.

You You While you go through the interaction in your mind You can ask questions such as What is the quality of intimacy throughout this interaction You can ask questions such as how do you feel about the interaction How does my body naturally react to this Go deeper into this feeling You and the others involved You You Being connected to the present moment What insight do you have to work with now What presence can you bring to the next interaction To invite a more expansive quality of intimacy With these important questions in mind Take a moment to focus on the breath and Allow the breath to open your heart body Body mind for the answer You You You You The difference made here comes from generating more presence and Intimacy within yourself So that when you're there in that situation again You hold the gentleness to inspire and Invite the other to slow down and Give share a glimpse of their true self Breathe in two three four Breathe out two three four Breathe in two three four Breathe out two-three four Breathe in two three four Breathe out two three four You'll find that every situation is different,

Yet they all require the same openness,

Trust,

And love from within you.

It's too easy to demand realness and presence from another,

Even if just for a micro instant.

This process of opening up and inviting intimacy into your life and the life of others is a truly creative process.

In this way,

You can apply this technique to any situation where you find there is a lack of intimacy and wish to infuse a certain quality of love and connection into it.

Be mindful of how each situation will ask of your truth and patience.

The particular sweetness and richness we experience during our personal relationship with meditation allows us to slow things down in order to see and feel each other as tender human beings.

We are not simply filling our designated roles in the machinations of an ever-tightening robotic system.

Sometimes,

Just a little softness and recognition can mean so much.

You

It's so powerful to stay with someone in the present moment and feel the trueself of them shining through but there is always a lack of being aware of all senses in this roboticsystem. So we have to be mindful and ask for our truth and paciens. Thank you Elliott๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธPranam๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

So glad this showed up finally! This was one of your finest yet Elliott. Beautifully spoken and thoughts that really moved me and made me truly think about these interactions. Iโ€™m mostly like you were Iโ€™ve enjoyed meeting new folks and Iโ€™m not afraid to say hello to them. This has generally been greeted with a smile and a conversation. But I realized there are times I go out and want a bubble around myself. I guess this too, is normal. Being alone I am craving any interaction with a live person but itโ€™s not going to happen for a while. Iโ€™m edging on the high risk category so I must be very careful out there. Take of yourself as well Elliott although I hear New Zealand and Australia had knocked this sucker flat. Well done.
