Before we begin,

It's important to note that inner child work can sometimes bring up difficult emotions or memories.

If at any point during this meditation you feel overwhelmed or triggered,

Please take a break and come back to it when you feel ready.

Begin by finding a comfortable seated position,

Either in a chair or on a cushion.

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths,

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

As you exhale,

Feel your body relax and release any tension.

In Carl Jung's psychology,

The wounded child archetype represents the part of us that carries unhealed wounds from our childhood.

These wounds can create a shadow side of ourselves that we may be unaware of.

Inner child work is a powerful tool for healing these wounds and becoming whole again.

Take a moment to visualize your inner child.

See them as a separate part of yourself,

Maybe five or six years old.

Imagine them standing in front of you,

Looking up at you with big innocent eyes.

Notice what they are wearing,

What their hair looks like and how they are standing.

Now take a deep breath and imagine stepping into their shoes.

See the world from their perspective.

What do you notice about your surroundings?

What do you feel in your body?

Allow yourself to fully immerse in this experience.

As you connect with your inner child,

Begin to notice any wounds or unmet needs that they may carry.

Perhaps they feel unloved,

Unsupported or neglected in some way,

Whatever it is.

Just notice it without judgment.

Now ask your inner child what they needed at that time.

Maybe they needed more affection,

More playtime or someone to listen to them.

Allow them to express their needs to you.

Take a moment to reflect on how you can meet those unmet needs.

Now as an adult,

What actions or activities can you take to fulfill those emotional needs?

Maybe it's spending more time with loved ones,

Engaging in creative play or seeking therapy.

Allow yourself to brainstorm and imagine what it would look like to meet those needs.

As you continue to breathe deeply,

Know that by accepting and nurturing your wounded child,

You are reclaiming a part of yourself and becoming whole again.

Remember that this work takes time and patience,

But the rewards are worth it.

When you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes and bring your attention back to your surroundings.

Carry this sense of connection and compassion for yourself with you throughout your day.

Remember to be gentle with yourself and honor the needs of your inner child.

Thank you.

Namaste.
