Refueling and re-nourishing our bodies and minds are so essential in these unprecedented times. Give yourself the gift of letting go and feeling the comfort of being in your body without doing, working, or producing. Experience the time for unwinding. Feel the grounded connection to the earth.

Rest and refuel.

Please join me for this nourishing meditation.

In preparation,

Allow yourself to make a space for yourself that is both comfortable and provides for optimal alertness.

You can sit in a comfortable position or recline.

If you're reclining,

Make sure that there's an open airiness to your breath and your neck is not constricting in any way.

Let's start by taking a deep,

Full breath in,

Holding it,

Giving yourself the nurturance you deserve,

And slowly letting your breath out.

Now let's do that again.

A full breath in,

Holding it,

And slowly letting the parasympathetic nervous system help you with a calming influence.

Let's find points deep within ourselves to bring us to the rest we deserve.

Start with the toes and feel the comforting pull of gravity moving deeply down to the earth's center.

Feel the gravity of the earth pulling the fullness of the feet.

They are feeling heavier and more still.

Feeling gravity pulling on the calves and the shins,

The deep heaviness.

Feel the knees and the backs of the knees.

The magnetism of the earth's center is unavoidable.

If you find yourself needing to yawn to exhale more breath,

Let it happen.

If you find yourself dozing off,

It is okay.

Your mind can remain alert as your body naps.

Feel the expanse of your thighs.

Feel your hips.

Gravity is allowing them to drop down further.

Feel your hip bones,

Your lower abdomen,

The lowest part of your back,

And backbone.

Feel a sense of melting into the surface on which you are lying.

Feel your stomach,

Your lower back.

Notice your breath as your stomach's natural rhythm ebbs and flows.

Feel gravity pulling on the ribcage,

The structure of the bones,

And the cartilage.

This protection stays with you even when you are off flat on the floor and sinking downward.

Notice your chest and lungs.

Feel gravity allowing for movement and flow.

Your shoulders are cocooning your back.

Your neck is providing support to your head and your heart.

Your head is holding your ever-producing mind and most of your senses.

It can let go and allow for stillness and rest.

Your body is alive,

And if you maintain awareness,

You can feel its many functions occurring.

Yet it is also still a vessel to ground you and to rest within for as long as you need to.

Take some quiet time now.

You will hear my voice again in a short while.

As you hear my voice again,

Allow yourself to either continue this rest and refueling experience or slowly have some movement in your toes,

Your fingers.

If you're lying down,

Give yourself a moment to curl over to your side to help you sit up.

Slowly let some light into your eyes.

If you are having them closed or the focus is only on one point,

Bring yourself back to all that you see around you and enjoy the rest of your day.
