Good morning,

Everyone.

Good evening,

Good afternoon,

Wherever you are,

And welcome to this week's Weekly Energy Boost.

My name is Ellie Sheva,

And I am here this lovely Monday morning with David.

David could not be further away from the mic,

Which shows me how excited he is to be here.

I know I speak for all of our listeners when I say we missed you last week,

David.

Yes,

Me too.

This week on the Weekly Energy Boost,

We are talking about deserving miracles.

And if you've been a listener for any period of time,

You've heard that word thrown out a lot.

The reason we're talking about it is more for the deserving angle than it is for the miracles angle,

Because we are using the energy of this week to see truly who we are,

To connect more deeply with our essence and to use the enhanced vision we're going to have this week for our own spiritual growth.

The Weekly Energy Boost is a seven-day spiritual weather forecast,

Energy forecast,

Where David and I,

And sometimes our guests,

Glean through the wisdom of Kabbalah to provide our listeners with the most powerful and practical wisdom and tools to help you navigate the coming seven days.

We end up inevitably sharing powerful wisdom and tools that can be used anytime.

And I think it's especially appropriate,

It always works with the weekly energy.

The weekly energy is always connected to the monthly energy.

And we're now at the tail end of the month of Leo.

We're actually going to be entering the month of Virgo this weekend,

Which we're going to talk extensively about in the coming weeks.

But one of the great things I think about Leo's,

And I consider myself an expert,

I have two of my kids are Leo,

And I've always had close,

Close friends.

If you look at my inner circle,

There are always Leos in them,

In that inner circle.

And I actually,

I think there is a friend of mine,

A friend of ours,

I should say,

Who is not a Leo,

But has a lot of Leo in their chart.

And when I think about the people we know with Leo in their chart strongly,

It's usually rising or moon is even more dominant than the sun.

They have this sense of self-worth that is astounding.

Like they,

In an amazing way.

They do until they don't.

Well,

Okay,

But let's try and capture the positive essence of what that means.

They almost have this,

I live and breathe,

Therefore you should admire me and respect me,

Energy.

Whereas even though inside there may be that insecurity or feeling of low self-worth,

Gosh darn do they hide it well.

And so I feel like in this week,

With the different opportunities that the universe is going to be giving us to recognize our intrinsic value,

We can borrow that Leo aspect of the mere fact that I'm alive means that I deserve everything.

I'm on this planet.

And that's something that's in our spiritual DNA,

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah,

Is that it's actually funny.

We tend to block ourselves and that's really a big part of what the gift of this week is.

Sometimes people say,

I don't think I deserve,

Just maybe the fact that I've been single so long means that I don't deserve my soulmate.

Or maybe the fact that I've been struggling with my business so much means I don't deserve to be successful.

According to Kabbalah,

That's not in our lane.

That's not in our jurisdiction.

It's not up to us.

We don't need to be busy with I deserve or I don't deserve.

The fact is complete fulfillment is our birthright,

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah.

And our work is simply to shed those belief systems.

If you're not sure what I'm talking about,

Go to last week's episode.

To work on those negative thought patterns and behaviors that block us.

The delivery system of blessings and miracles is unobstructed until we block it.

But nobody has a pipeline that is blocked just because.

It's really our active attachment to things that don't serve us,

Things maybe defense mechanisms,

Protective instincts,

Things like I had my heart broken before,

Never again,

I'm just not going to go near people.

Those are the kind of things that prevent us from receiving fulfillment.

Whereas there is really no such thing as I don't deserve.

And I think it's important that we deconstruct that perception because we may be ticking all the boxes and yet somehow the misperception of our greatness is actually what's preventing us from receiving.

I love that you brought that up because I didn't know that you were going to bring that up.

As is often the way we do this.

And what I prepared to share is in line with what you're saying because what is it?

We got a little bit less than 40 days of preparation before the first and second day of Libra,

Which is the head of the year for the whole world and above religion.

This is the day that all the souls kind of go through their auditing process of what their next year will become like.

And we call this Rosh Hashanah,

But again I hesitate in saying that because it evokes thoughts of Judaism and we need to kind of rise above that because this is for everyone.

This is not just for Jews.

So what happens on a soul level is that a look back on the last year of what we have been able to transform with regards to our own personal correction occurs and based on what we have achieved or haven't achieved,

A new movie is established,

A baseline for a new movie is established around what I need to correct,

What I need to change,

My weaknesses and my strengths.

And as a result,

All the relationships that we will have,

All the challenges that we would have,

All the successes that we would have are actually predetermined and written in this 48 hour period of time.

Now that's a baseline that can change and that we can transform that throughout the year,

But that's the starting point.

So what's important about the 30 or 40 days before that is that challenges and tests that we have not passed throughout the year begin to come back in some iteration and give us the opportunity to correct.

How do you correct something?

Essentially,

You can only correct something when you feel pain,

When you feel discomfort and you feel the lack.

It means there's a moment,

An opportunity for correction.

Often when we feel bad,

We think that this is just an inconvenience that I need to do away with as quick as possible.

Spiritually speaking,

When we go through a challenge,

Whether we just lost something,

Something is putting us in a bad mood,

Something is being taken away,

A form of rejection,

A form of dishonesty,

A falling out between you and somebody else,

A friend,

A relative,

Family member,

Or you're just getting down on yourself and you just started to have a lot of negative thoughts,

A lot of addictions coming,

Different feelings and energies you thought you would put at bay but they start coming back.

These are all considered opportunities for correction.

By correcting them,

You open up a gate inside your soul which then opens up something in the physical world and the energy comes in.

So you will experience some form of old stuff coming back even if you think you've corrected it,

But there's still some residue.

It will come back and you'll start to have negative thoughts for no reason out of nowhere.

This is all preparation for the first and second day of Libra which is about 30 to 40 days away.

Now I share that because everyone starts to go into a panic mode and start to want to change who they are and grow.

I've got to change.

I've got to change my negativity.

I've got to change.

We get texts,

What do you think I need to change?

Yeah,

Yeah,

Yeah.

That's my favorite.

What do I need to change?

So it's interesting because when somebody even asks this question,

What do I need to change?

And it's coming from a place of fear and panic as often it does with that question.

You don't feel the vibration being elevated,

You feel it going down.

And I've learned from the readings of the Kabbalists and personal experience and from our teachers,

The best way to change is to stop thinking that you need to change.

This whole idea of there's something wrong with me,

God made a mistake,

The Creator made a mistake,

The universe made a mistake,

I made a mistake,

This whole mistake consciousness is actually the opposite of the light of the Creator.

So what happens is when a person thinks that there's something wrong with them,

That they've done bad things and they have guilt and shame and fear,

They actually create more situations,

They attract more negativity into their lives,

They don't cleanse anything.

How do you cleanse something?

To actually believe that you're perfect.

This is why I love what Elisheva said about the Leo,

To have a very high self-esteem and to think nothing needs to be changed,

Not because,

Nothing needs to be changed because even if something is broken,

It's exactly the way the Creator wanted it to be created.

And when you think this way,

The light enters your system,

Your soul,

And the light actually begins to change you.

But that's the irony of it.

The way to change is to believe there's nothing wrong with you.

There's nothing wrong with your kids,

There's nothing wrong with your relationship,

There's nothing wrong with your business,

There's nothing wrong with this,

But it's a bad situation.

If you think it's a bad situation,

It means you're telling the world that God made a mistake.

So this is the starting point of change,

Is to believe I'm whole,

I don't need to change.

I think also something that you said,

David,

Made me even rethink my definition of a miracle.

And I'm going to address this,

Well,

I'm sure we'll address it later on as well,

But that idea that when things suddenly go well unexpectedly,

I would say that that's how most of the world perceives miracles or identifies miracles is when something looks dark and suddenly turns around,

There's a positive turn of events in my favor.

And the truth is that,

I think I heard Michael Berg say this on the Spiritually Hungry podcast a few weeks ago as well,

Our teacher Rav Berg always used to say,

The miracle is not walking away from a car accident without a scratch,

The miracle is not getting in the car accident in the first place.

That our lives are really series of miraculous moments one after the other.

And our perception,

As David was saying,

Of something is wrong,

Is basically a denial of that.

Right?

We're going through a challenge.

We all go through challenges,

And it's no indication of anything that we're doing wrong.

The fact is that even the orchestration of the challenge is a miracle.

I had a conversation with somebody briefly this week who was,

Threw her back out,

Jammed her finger,

Got sick,

Like all these different things.

The universe kind of telling her,

Stop where you are and lay down.

Which is very discouraging when you want to be doing.

So her first question was,

What do you think the message is for me?

Which on one hand is a very elevated response to a challenge,

But on the other hand can also turn the wrong way.

And we're going to get into that,

I think,

Also in the next few episodes because the Virgo tendency to be critical can often work against us in that process.

When we're busy nitpicking,

What did we do wrong?

Or what should we have said differently that doesn't always work,

That doesn't always facilitate growth.

So I said to her,

What if it's not even a message?

What if it's a test?

Right?

What if it's not,

There's nothing to learn here.

Instead,

The universe really wants to see,

Are you going to shrink your desire for everything that you've been working towards because now you're in pain and you want some relief?

Think about how much our desires are focused on relief.

Relief from my bills,

Relief from my annoying neighbors,

Relief from my nagging family,

Relief from my routine.

And many times it's actual physical pain and all we can think about when we have that headache or the toothache or whatever else is going on,

Happened to me,

Not to me,

A student,

Another student had a pretty heavy case of COVID a few weeks ago and just couldn't think about anything else.

In that moment,

What if the universe is telling you,

You can ask only for this or you can ask for everything.

You can ask for it all in this moment because again,

You are exactly where you need to be.

It's perfect.

This is not a problem unless you decide it is.

And by not shrinking your desire right now,

You're unlocking ridiculous blessings and miracles not only for yourself,

But for everyone around you.

If you can manage not to become,

What's the word?

Myopic.

You know that you won't just see the problem,

That you'll focus on all the miracles all around you,

Which is actually what draws even more miracles to you.

My Live Kabbalah 3 here in Los Angeles,

I think we're in class 5 or 6,

And I'm doing it a little bit differently.

I've given 5 to 6 classes devoted just to relationships.

And so last week we began to talk about the female energy and it will continue this Wednesday.

And I always suggest if you're in Los Angeles,

Come by and come to this live class because it's amazing energy.

Over 150 great people.

They've been on the journey for the last year and still stayed intact.

So one of the topics we bring up is.

.

.

I hope they stayed intact.

They didn't fall apart.

They didn't fall apart.

Kabbalah can.

.

.

Kabbalah.

.

.

Kabbalah.

.

.

Is that powerful.

It's like,

Hold on,

Either you're growing or it's going to implode you,

Right?

So what did we learn about the female energy?

And it doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman,

We all have female energy and female roles.

Feminine.

Feminine.

Okay,

You want me to use.

.

.

Feminine is an energy.

You heard it here on Completely Energy Used.

All right,

Don't attack me.

Right here to the left.

Feminine energy.

Feminine energy kabbalistically is the vessel.

It's that which is in a position to receive.

So for example,

The male energy we say is that which is in the position to channel,

To share,

And the feminine energy is receiving and manifesting.

And you need both in every equation.

So we talked about,

For example,

Like we are giving a podcast.

In this role,

We are disseminating energy or sharing energy and the receiver,

The audience,

Is playing the feminine role to receive and manifest the light of this podcast,

The energy of this podcast.

So we talked about how does the opponent challenge the feminine energy?

What is the main tycoon of the feminine energy?

Because the essence of the feminine energy is a vessel to receive.

There's always this overarching feeling that I don't have something.

There's a feeling of lack,

A feeling that I need something,

A feeling of beating myself up as a result.

You know,

When do we beat ourselves up?

When we feel we don't have something or we did something wrong,

Which means that I lost something or I didn't receive something I should have had.

And the feminine energy doesn't matter whether it's man or woman.

It's when you're playing that role.

The tendency is to think about what you don't have.

And the more we think about what we don't have,

We attract abuse.

We attract chaos.

We attract people who want to take from us because lack attracts lack.

We attract other people with lack.

We attract other people who are thinking about what they don't have.

That perpetuates then discussions around complaining,

Evil speech,

You know,

More,

More negativity is created,

More negative angels are created.

So this whole concept,

And by the way,

Feminine,

We are all feminine in relation to the light of the Creator.

We're all souls that are vessels that are feminine towards the light of the Creator.

We all want to receive the light.

So what do we need to do to receive the light?

We need to stop thinking about the areas where we don't have the light.

We need to believe that we have the light.

We need to believe that we're in love,

Even if we're not.

We need to believe that we have ownership and wealth,

Even if we do not in the physical world.

We need to believe that,

You know,

We all,

We all,

We all,

Whatever we have,

We always look at somebody else that has a little bit more or has it differently than us.

And we think we start to scheme and develop ways of how do I get more of that?

Prabhaskar says clearly,

When you have the consciousness of,

I need more of something,

You're disconnected from the light of the Creator.

More will come to you,

But not when you think you need more.

It's always the consciousness of,

I have,

I have,

I have already.

And that then manifests into joy and a pleasant face,

Because a lot of times people don't have a pleasant face.

You know,

You meet people,

It's like a poo poo face,

The poo poo face,

Sad face,

The I'm missing something face,

The complaining face,

The countenance,

You know,

You want the countenance of the light.

Did I say that right?

The countenance.

Yeah.

So,

So this is the secret of,

You know,

A woman raised her hand and said,

So what's the bottom line?

What do I,

What do I need to do to meet my soulmate?

I said,

Look,

I can tell you,

And this is more anecdotal,

Less spiritual,

Most men run away from a sad partner and they flock towards a joyful partner.

If a woman simply,

I mean,

If there's just a punchline,

Having joy,

Which obviously means that there's certainty and there's self-esteem and all those things to have joy,

But aiming to have joy and happiness is what attracts everything,

Including a soulmate.

And sadness,

What's wrong with me beating myself in judgment,

Attracts the opposite,

Attracts abusive relationships.

I think that that just what you shared just now anecdotally reinforces what we said before,

Which is that living like you already have it is what attracts it.

That's right.

The law of attraction,

According to Kabbalah,

Is not the whole formula.

It's a piece of it.

Seeing yourself feeling as though you have the partnership.

I think a great exercise for people to do is,

And I've recommended this a million times over the years,

Is to sit,

Whatever it is that you feel you lack,

It may be factual,

Right?

You are not in a relationship right now.

Therefore you do not have a partner as an example,

Or it could be prosperity or it could be feeling safe and secure.

Just whatever change you're looking in your reality,

Imagine yourself with that change and ask yourself,

What will you receive?

What will you have then that you don't already have now?

So the easy one with a partner,

You know,

We'll have,

I'll have somebody to go out with,

I'll have a better social life,

I'll dress better,

I'll lose weight,

I'll be more active,

I will be open to new experiences,

Right?

You come up with that list and sometimes that list is like 50 points long and you check off and start to do all of those things that don't really depend on anyone else or don't really depend on a fluffier bank account or living in a different place.

Start to be that because you already have it,

Right?

This is where the practical meets the spiritual.

If you want to live in that frame where you already have the soulmate,

Be all those things and do all those things as though you can already have a more robust social life.

You can already try new experiences,

You can already dress differently and be more active.

Those have nothing to do with any other person other than you.

And in conjunction with what David just said,

That change in energy from feeling lack to already having some of those things that I desire shifts your energy from what David calls the poo poo to the energy,

The vibration of happiness,

Joy.

It's funny because we say we want to attract the soulmate.

That means you have to be attractive,

Not completely made up and fancied all the time.

But what does it mean to be attractive that I am drawing to me?

You can be an attractive car that draws attention.

It's not about how you dress or what labels you wear.

It is literally about your vibration.

So part of what we want to awaken this week is that alignment between our true essence and how we live our lives.

Which if we're honest with ourselves,

There's a disparity.

If we really are beings of light,

Look at all the ways that we're shortchanging ourselves and bring ourselves this week,

Probably almost more than any other week of the year,

We can get in touch with our true essence and close the gap between who we are and what we experience now and what we are meant to experience.

The miracles,

The light,

The fulfillment that we are meant to experience.

Practically what to do in the next 40 days,

To do this all year long of course,

But definitely to focus on these 40 days,

Take your spiritual work very seriously and leave very little room for error in these times.

So practically what I do,

I invest a little bit more time both in the morning and at night to set my intention.

My intention for the day is in the morning.

My review happens at night.

My review of the day happens at night.

The more you invest in something,

The more it becomes part of you and it becomes second nature.

If you're hoping just to pass your tests haphazardly,

It's not going to work.

Can't enter a boxing match with the opponent in the next 40 days.

He's coming with his A game.

He's coming with- What does that mean,

David?

Your opponent is coming with your A game?

The opponent knows exactly where your weakness is.

He knows exactly what seduces you.

He knows exactly where you have an addiction and he knows exactly how you justify engaging in it.

We only do something negative because we've rationalized why it's okay to do it.

Because we're all very smart people.

We have a soul.

Our soul knows right from wrong what's going to be good long term and not.

So why do we make short term decisions?

Why do we often implode the ship around stuff that's important to us?

Why do we get defensive and negative and just ruin things and become lazy or apathetic about stuff?

It's because somehow we've rationalized in our mind that it's okay.

So the satan,

The opponent,

Knows exactly where we will rationalize and he will serve that up as a dish to get us to stay asleep spiritually and not pass our test,

Not to correct our soul before our Shoshana.

So for example,

A classic one,

A classic way that he serves up this dish.

Before you say that classic way,

Can you give like a 30 second on what is the opponent for those who are newer to us?

Real quick,

We all came to this world to perfect our vessel and that's what will allow us to earn and receive the light of the Creator.

That's not just a spiritual energy that manifests physically in this world as blessings,

What we call heaven on earth.

So we're not just meant to do spiritual work and then die and then something good might happen.

The goodness in this world is experienced once I remove my negativity.

Counter to that,

There is an opponent,

An angelic force,

An opposing energy that has been created that is exactly a match to each individual.

His job is to make sure that we do not transform and become the best versions of ourselves.

His essence,

Even though it's bad,

Is actually true essence is good because every opponent is actually a good thing.

Opponents make us stronger,

Opponents ensure that we earn something.

It's not fun playing basketball by yourself.

It's fun when you scrimmage and you play against an opponent.

And it's fun when you play against an opponent that is on your level,

Not too high and not too low.

It's fun when you have someone on your level.

So each one of us has a force that challenges us to engage in instant gratification and to let go of long-term fulfillment.

And it makes it appealing to us to do so.

So a lot of secrets about the opponent.

We're learning the Kabbalah one.

So the opponent will serve up that dish this month exactly knowing how we will rationalize.

And so the most famous one is the one about the relationships.

Often when we're in a bad relationship,

That can be a friendship,

That can be romantic,

That could be a career.

But especially with romantic relationships and we end those relationships or we depart from them,

We were very certain about it when we did it.

However,

Afterwards we find a longing or a nostalgia to go back to it even though it was bad for us.

Why all of a sudden we have nostalgia for things of the past?

Because the opponent knows exactly how to separate the negative feelings you had and just conjure up the positive things that you had.

So you start to rationalize,

Well,

You know,

It wasn't so bad,

Was it?

Maybe I was the one to blame.

Maybe I could have done a better job.

So you start to have those negotiations.

Maybe I don't deserve to be happy.

Maybe.

Well,

No one will actually say that.

No,

But there's people who think that they need to do their tikkun.

Consciously,

I don't deserve to be happy,

So I should take a subpar life.

Right.

So if I'm here to overcome a negativity,

The best way to do that is in a challenging relationship where I'm settling and I'm constantly being undermined or belittled or whatever I find in that second-rate relationship.

I think a few people will actually say that out loud,

That they consciously choose that every day.

I think when you say it,

People will be like,

Oh yeah,

Okay,

That is me.

But no people wake up every morning saying,

All right,

My goal is to aim for mediocrity because I don't deserve any of that.

No,

But I'm saying when they're thinking about going back to the relationship,

They think,

Well,

I'd rather be miserable and not alone than be happy and alone.

That's right.

That's right.

That's fair.

And how many of us hearing this right now,

You relate to it because we all have to admit where we convince ourselves that something is okay when it's not.

How do I know something's not okay?

Well,

Unless you're 12 years old listening to this,

You've probably fallen 25 times and felt very depleted after you've done it.

That is good enough empirical evidence and removing this statistic improbability.

As they say in the courtroom,

Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

I'm sure there's no more reasonable doubt for certain things in our lives that that is destructive.

Why?

Because every time I've engaged in it,

It has brought me chaos.

It may make me happy for a minute,

But there's long-term chaos.

It needs to make you happy for a minute because there needs to be enough of a choice.

When you go to Vegas,

If you've ever gone to Vegas,

I remember going to Vegas many times in the past and the opponent always kind of makes you win in the beginning because you always remember that there's a chance you can win so that you go back 40 more times and lose.

And lose what you've won.

Yeah.

Oh,

You've already lost what you won the first time.

But the other 39 times you're thinking,

Well,

There was a time I won and I'm sure I can win 39 more times in a row.

That's how the opponent works.

He's got to give you a little bit that tastes good and it always tastes so good.

It tastes so good.

What the opponent does actually,

He puts pictures in your brain of fantasies that look like it would be very good,

But then the fantasy after you engage in it,

It tastes bitter.

Well,

By the way,

To use your example,

The first bite of steak is always the best.

I mean,

Steak's not a bad thing though,

Right?

No,

But I'm saying it's like you can relate it to something very benign.

You're so excited about the meal you're cooking,

You enjoy the first three bites and the rest of it is just to satisfy your hunger.

You're no longer really enjoying every.

.

.

Rare is the meal where you enjoy every bite from beginning to end.

The thing I get most are people in relationships who have fantasies of what it would be a better relationship.

This would be,

You see this man,

You see this woman,

You see whatever you think,

Oh,

My life with them would be like this.

It's a picture,

Right?

You just think of being on a boat,

Freedom,

Take all these things.

But really,

If you start to engage in it,

If you did actually engage in it,

It would be bitter.

It would be not like the fantasy that was in your mind.

The opponent loves to put fantasies.

That's how he gets us to.

.

.

He sucks our energy.

And then you're in one relationship,

But you're thinking about another.

You're in one career,

But you're thinking about another.

You're in one situation,

But you're thinking about another.

He loves to divide our attention,

Divide our energy.

That's how he wins.

And then we feel depleted and drained at the end of the day.

If you feel drained,

It's because you're not committing to one thing.

You're committing to 45 things.

And you're hedging your bets all the time.

Hedge,

Hedge,

Hedge,

Hedge,

Because I don't trust in the Creator.

Yes,

Kabbalah is nice.

The podcast is nice.

Elisha is nice.

You know,

I listen to this,

I do that,

I dabble here and there.

But at the end of the day,

Your actions tell if you're spiritual or not.

Are you sacrificing?

Are you really letting go?

Are you really trusting that the Creator is going to take care of you?

Are you really taking that leap of faith and investing your energy in one thing?

Are you spreading it all around just in case this Kabbalah stuff is a little bit of a fad?

Maybe it's a fad.

Maybe it's not real.

Maybe the Creator is a nice concept,

But not real.

We all do that.

We all do that.

I think we're done.

We hit the limit.

David is done.

David is done.

So just to recap,

Three points.

We talked about how the main barrier between us and our miraculous life is really our perception,

Our perception that we deserve,

Our perception that we already have everything that we need and that miracles happen constantly.

The most powerful miracles are actually the ones we don't see.

And having that bombastic 180 in a situation is not necessarily what we really want.

I think another point that David made really powerfully is that this is a time period in which we are going to be sold old or outdated versions of ourselves to be wary,

To be conscious of that,

To make sure that we're not trading off for old patterns,

Old relationships,

Old movies.

And then lastly,

To know that that feminine energy that we talked about being able to receive means not lacking.

In order to really have it all,

We need to not come from a place of lack,

But come from a place of abundance,

I am perfect,

It is perfect as it is right now.

Borrow from that Leo energy of the mere fact that I'm the king of the jungle and therefore that is why you should serve me.

Or as the sun rules the month of Leo,

The sun is the center of the solar system.

It just is.

We all revolve around the sun.

So let the universe conspire in your favor.

Let the universe do spoil you.

Don't get in the way with I deserve,

I don't deserve,

Maybe I'm here to suffer,

Because that's really what blocks us more than anything.

I wanted to close this week's episode with a real short article,

We can call it,

Posted by our teacher Karen Berg from 2017.

Really appropriate to what we were talking about,

Although as you know,

David and I don't script this out.

We don't share what we're thinking about,

But we do inevitably meet in the middle of the road somehow every week and this article is just proof of that.

So have you ever been in a situation where you and another person witnessed the same event and yet you see it totally differently?

Or maybe you've watched two people interacting in a foreign language and you think they look upset,

But really they're just very excited.

Whenever I experience those scenarios,

It reminds me of the fact that as human beings,

We don't always see things so clearly.

Each one of us has preconceived notions and ideas held in our conscious or subconscious mind that form the lens through which we quote unquote view this world.

As the saying goes,

We don't see things as they are,

We see things as we are.

It is a fitting discussion because this week's portion is re'eh,

Which means to see.

Through it,

We receive the energy to build and maintain our spiritual vision.

This is also the week in which Rav Berg was born,

So it holds extra power and significance for all of us in our global spiritual family.

When Moses says to the Israelites re'eh,

He is essentially saying,

See me,

Who I am,

How I live,

How I am sustained.

But he wasn't referring to external things.

Yes,

He was tall,

Distinctive and youthful,

As if he had not aged a day since leaving Egypt.

He was also wealthy and intelligent,

But what he wanted the Israelites to see was how he clung closely to the Creator.

He knew that without the light,

He was nothing,

And he never lost sight of that consciousness,

No matter what.

In our lives,

When things start going our way,

Or we have no immediate needs,

It is easy to lose sight of who allows for our blessings.

It is also easy to see someone else,

Maybe a rich,

Beautiful or famous person,

And think,

Wow,

Haven't they got it made,

And build up this subtle jealousy or sadness about our current situation in life.

Or to start to idolize them in a way that negates the precious light of our own being.

But the Creator does just want us to live with Him in our moments of desperation.

And he didn't put us here so that we could just wish we were someone else.

He created us to receive the ultimate fulfillment that comes from being who we are,

Climbing our own spiritual ladder,

And sharing what it is that we came here to share.

This week,

We receive a powerful gift,

Which is the spiritual vision to see that our circumstance is no accident.

It is our test,

Up or down,

High or low,

Let's make our connection to our source our first priority.

When that is our consciousness,

Then no matter what happens,

We cannot fail.
