Hello,

Welcome to Guided Jewish Meditations.

My name is Eliezer.

This meditation is a bit different than the others in this channel in that today's meditation will not be about a specific topic or goal.

Rather,

We will review some basic guidelines on how to meditate and on how to maximize the benefits we can all enjoy from meditating.

Why meditate at all?

At the surface,

Meditating seems like a waste of time.

You sit or lay for the entire duration of the meditation without moving,

Talking or accomplishing anything else of obvious note.

What are the benefits of meditating?

Answering this question is the key to discovering this powerful,

Empowering,

Divine gift you can give to yourself.

That is truly what meditation is,

A gift to yourself.

It is a time you can put everything in the world on hold,

Truly remove it from your life,

Accept who you are without prejudice and without fear or shame and focus inwards and on your life and goals.

It is also how you connect through your mind and soul to the world of spirituality,

The world of the divine.

Meditating is controlled thinking,

It is to focus your mind on one particular thing to the exclusion of everything else.

This may sound easy but is in fact extremely difficult to do,

Especially over long periods of time.

However,

With practice,

A deep meditative state can be achieved,

One in which your mind and soul completely take over.

In this meditative state,

Your ability to think,

To discover and to connect to the divine is enhanced.

In this state,

You see your goals with more clarity,

You realize realities that are otherwise obscured or hidden and you are able to use these newly found truths and realities to positively affect your life.

At its core,

However,

Meditation remains controlled thinking and this takes practice to achieve.

Today we will try to reach a deep meditative state and using this meditation as practice,

You will be able to achieve deep meditative states more easily and for longer periods of time.

Let us begin.

In order to meditate,

It is important to feel safe and relaxed.

Tensions during any meditation should be avoided if possible.

Therefore,

Try and find a place where you can sit or lay down undisturbed.

Slowly close your eyes and relax your back and shoulders.

Take a deep breath in through your nose slowly until your lungs are completely filled.

Then slowly exhale through your mouth.

The reason breathing exercises are important before meditating is because doing this relaxes and regulates your body and allows you to make your mind the focal point of your existence.

Continue breathing evenly,

Deeply and use the air as a way to cleanse your body,

Heart and mind of any negative emotions and energy you may be feeling.

Negative energy can adversely affect a meditation because it prevents you from fully relaxing and feeling safe and secure.

Try this now.

Take a deep breath in through your nose.

Picture the air entering your body.

In your mind's eye,

Imagine the air entering you being filled with wisps of divine shimmering light.

As it enters your body,

Imagine the light spread throughout your body and mind filling every last part of you with warmth.

And as you exhale,

Imagine your body expelling all stress,

Anxiety,

Pain and other negative emotions you may be feeling.

As you continue breathing this way,

In your mind's eye,

Visualize the light spreading throughout your body slowly reach into your mind,

Filling it with a gentle warm light,

Relaxing your consciousness further and bringing you deeper and deeper into a meditative state.

You are alive.

You exist.

Allow this powerful reality to enter your mind and soul and make it the sole focus of your consciousness.

Simply focus on the singular reality of your life.

In your mind's eye,

Try and push all extraneous thoughts aside and devote your complete and undivided attention to the all-encompassing truth of your life and existence.

If other thoughts enter your mind,

Allow them to remain for a moment and then gently push them aside until your mind is once again completely focused on your reality.

Some people find it helpful to focus on their heart,

Beating evenly and faithfully as a beacon they can hold onto as they study their mind.

Disappears.

Now,

Slowly focus your mind inwards.

Deep within your mind lies the connection to your spiritual reality.

The world of the divine,

Where the life force that feeds your existence at every moment comes from.

This world is real.

It exists.

It can be connected to and felt with your soul.

This connection isn't something you can describe the way you can describe a physical object or an emotion.

It can only be felt with your mind and soul.

This is the world of spirituality and meditation is a powerful method to connect to it.

Try and do this now.

Take a deep breath and gently clear your mind of all thought.

Hold on to your empty,

Clear mind.

If other thoughts or images enter your consciousness,

Don't force them away.

Rather,

Gently allow them to slip away as you again clear your mind.

Now,

Focus inwards into your mind and soul and on the life force that comes from beyond.

You are alive because the infinite source keeps you alive at every moment and this connection of life,

This divine light,

Is the path you can follow to connect to the eternal creator.

Meditate on this connection,

This light that keeps you alive.

Make this connection the focal point of your mind.

Hold on to it unwaveringly and allow it to envelop you,

Flow into your mind and soul and become one with you.

Fifteen seconds.

You at this point in your meditation with practice you are able to gently direct your thoughts to any goal or topic you like it is when you are so intimately connected to the divine that realities become clear to you that are otherwise hidden when life is experienced in its true sense as a divine gift from the source of all life as an opportunity for growth and meaning it is then that true joy is experienced the Creator uses infinite wisdom at this moment in time to keep you and everything around you alive you are important meditate on this incredible truth the more you can integrate and truly experience this reality the more your meditative goals will be realized in a lasting and meaningful way allow this reality to become the final goal of today's practice meditation allow it to completely fill your mind at the exclusion of everything else hold on to it until nothing else in your world exists you we are approaching the completion of this meditation slowly bring your mind back to the present doing this rapidly can traumatize the mind and soul breathe in deeply and evenly until you feel your mind has fully returned you thank you for joining me today you may use this meditation as a practice guide to enhance and strengthen your ability to clear your mind hold on to a single thought and connect to the divine I hope doing so helps you achieve your goals in life and live up to your true potential my name is Eliezer may peace be with you you you
