Use this 3 point somatic check in to bring yourself back to an embodied state by connecting to your breath, body, and energy. Take the time to slow down & explore these 3 important pillars that can teach us so much about what we're moving through internally.

Hello and welcome my friends.

This is going to be your three-point somatic check-in.

So what that means is essentially today we will be connecting consciously to three different points to help bring your awareness back into yourself.

And those three points are your breath,

Your body,

And your energy.

And these three things are what really make up your embodied self,

Your embodied experience.

And so we'll be spending some intimate time with each point so you can move from feeling overstretched and overstimulated to connected and embodied.

And with that being said,

Find a comfortable seat or feel free to lie down on your back.

Maybe you let the eyes close.

Maybe they stay open as you find a soft gaze.

For some of you this may be the one and only chance you have today to really slow down and check in with yourself.

We live in an incredibly fast-paced society,

Constantly rushing from one thing to the next.

And what I found to be true is that integration and progress cannot happen at that pace.

In order for true change to really take place and to really sink in,

We must slow down.

We must come back to ourselves.

And one of the best ways to do so is to check in and pay conscious attention to the breath.

This is the first of the three points.

And so without changing anything about it,

Just notice it.

Are you breathing deeply,

Slow,

Or is the breath shallow and perhaps even sticky?

Just witness the natural breath pattern that's moving through you right now at this very moment.

Maybe you even feel its temperature,

Its depth,

And natural cadence.

Our breath can really tell us a lot about what we're moving through internally,

If we're open and receptive or collapsed and shut down.

And I always say if you want to figure out how you're feeling,

Start by checking in with the breath.

And instead of making any judgments,

Open up to meeting yourself exactly as you are.

Allow the wisdom to rise naturally.

And just sitting with the breath exactly as it is for a few more moments,

Notice what that brings up within you.

And then gently now begin to slow,

Lengthen,

And deepen the breath.

Really allowing it to move through you with intention,

Presence.

Allow it to soften any hard edges or walls.

Breathing in and out through the nose.

Take just a few more slow,

Conscious breaths here.

Beautiful.

And starting to shift your awareness to the second point now,

The body.

Feel free to carry the breath with you.

Maybe your mind has already gone in that direction and picked up signs of discomfort or tension.

And just as you can sense whether or not the breath is smooth and receptive,

Notice if the body is holding,

Contracting,

Resisting.

You can feel it in the way you clench your jaw,

Tighten the fists,

And even tighten the low belly.

And some of you might feel the opposite.

Maybe the body is showing signs of receptivity and safety in the way it softens.

And if your feet are touching the floor,

See how it feels to press your feet down into the earth.

To really feel and tap into the strength and stability of your legs.

Or start to slowly roll your head out in some circles,

Just creating a little bit of movement and a lot of awareness.

And if your feet aren't touching the floor,

Just bring one hand over the heart,

One hand over the belly.

And feel the weight of your palms resting against your skin.

Feel the temperature of your palms.

Take just a few more moments here to connect to the felt senses.

And keeping this presence of mind,

Sink in a little bit deeper and see if you can sense your energy pulsing through you.

Energy can be the sound and feeling of your heartbeat.

Or the presence of an emotion even.

Emotion stands for energy and motion.

Just notice if there is maybe a heaviness,

A lightness,

Or a tingling presence,

Or even a lack of.

That's okay too.

Moving throughout your day to day life,

It's easy to spread your energy thin and give too much of yourself away,

Leaving you dry and empty.

So start to visualize your energy making its way back to you.

Detaching from the people,

Places,

And things that have been holding onto it for far too long.

Reclaim it.

It's yours.

And now with an awareness of all three of these essential pillars of your embodied experience as a human being,

Feel them start to sync up.

Moving forward from this place in collaboration to help you bring presence of mind,

Body,

Spirit into all areas of your life.

Take a few full deep breaths to close out your practice.

Thank yourself for showing up.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes and begin to come back to.
