Rest of the Anthropology Pulls It is the ego that has this tendency.

It likes the movie on the screen because the movie has an actor,

An actress,

A story going on.

It's so much fun.

It's engaging.

Yeah.

So it likes the movie or the images that are moving on the screen,

But the images are not real.

Yeah.

The ego enjoys that which is unreal because it has become one with unreality.

Kadarthma,

This is called.

So again and again,

You will fall back to that because that is our past habit pattern.

That is what we have fueled in the past.

And that's okay.

You realize,

Oh,

Again,

I'm out of it.

Come back to the knower.

Be in the knowingness constantly.

Again,

You will slip out.

You will enjoy the movie and you will get lost in the movie.

You will also create drama and then you regret also that you created drama and you beat yourself up.

And then you realize,

Oh,

It's the knower of all this drama.

And then you come back to the knowingness again and again,

Withdrawing again and again,

Self remembering this is called.

You have to just withdraw from the wonderful images and recognize the white screen.

The white screen is very boring.

There is no interesting drama over there.

Nothing to engage the ego,

The mind.

Yes.

But that is where the peace lies.

You have to help your ego understand.

Do you want peace or do you want drama?

You cannot get both.

There is no place where there is both.

We are thirsting for this.

For lifetimes we've been thirsting for this.

And when you recognize this,

Then you keep making that effort to come back.

I'm not saying that you don't engage in the world.

I'm saying engage in the world while being in knowingness.

With your husband,

With kids,

With friends,

With colleagues,

Everything you do,

What you're doing in the world.

Don't stop even a single thing.

Every activity but being established in that world.

Not in that mind,

Not in that ego that is creating the drama.

So I constantly have to make effort.

It seems like it is not happening naturally to me.

That's the effort is from withdrawing.

That's the only effort.

Effort is not that you are,

You have to create the knower.

The knower is there.

Yeah,

It's like saying I see a mirage in the desert and then I go running towards it thinking it will give me water but then I realize there is no water there.

No but there's a lot of effort in saying that there is no water there.

It's happening very naturally when you move towards it.

The mirage just disappears and you see the truth that it is only sand.

There is no water there.

Yeah,

So you have to just,

It's just a matter of self-remembering.

Oh,

Again I got lost in the drama.

That is why I am suffering.

That is why I'm unhappy.

The knower is there,

Meena.

We don't have to manufacture this knower.

You don't have to make an effort to sit down for 40 minutes or one hour and create the knower.

No,

The knower is there.

Every moment,

Even when you are crying,

You're suffering,

You're in anger.

There is a knower knowing that right now Meena is angry.

In that moment,

Just remembering to come back to the knower.

That's it.

That's required.

The knower is already there.

Yeah.

Just knowingly being the knower.

It's that simple.

It's that simple.

It's not that you have to make an effort.

It is that attachment.

It's so yummy.

This engaging world of Maya is so yummy.

The ego doesn't want to let go.

No,

No,

No.

I want to keep this world also and you give me peace also.

It's not possible.

Yeah.

Slowly,

The ego graduates to a position where it understands this.

So till that time,

Till it graduates,

A little bit of shuttling is going to happen.

You'll be sometimes in the knower.

Sometimes you'll lose yourself and again be lost in the jungle.

Again,

You will come back to the knower and it's okay.

Let the shuttling happen and don't beat yourself up.

Don't be mean to yourself.

Be very compassionate.

It's just a past habit pattern.

Let it go.

Let me reestablish back in the knower.

That's it.

The more this practice increases,

You'll find yourself just as if all the time in a void.

In that void,

People come and they go in that void,

Situations arise and they go,

But you are always silent.

You're always quiet.

You're very calm.

You will attain that peace that you were thirsting for.

That which for lifetimes you are seeking,

You will find it.
