Sām Sām Sām Sām Sām Sām Sām We will quickly revise what we did.

We cannot separate Advaita Vedanta and Ramana Maharshi's direct path.

They are intertwined.

Just like your mind and your body are intertwined.

So we will very quickly revise what we learnt.

At Advaita level 1,

You recognise that there is a witness.

The witness of the body and the mind.

That one knows that there is a body.

That one knows that there is a mind.

Right now you are knowing that your mind is observing Ekta through the body,

Means through the eyes.

So that knower,

That intellectually you understood in Advaita level 1.

You do shuttle between this understanding of I,

That knower,

I the witness and I the body-mind.

Because the understanding has been that I am the body,

I am the mind.

For such a long time that it's very difficult for me to establish in the knower and that's fine.

You keep shuttling.

Yes and that's okay.

Most of us have crossed this level of Advaita level 1.

Fantastic.

Fantastic.

Now let's understand what is Advaita level 2.

Advaita level 2 is now I experientially know this.

I am not the body.

I am not the mind.

I am the witness.

I know this through experience,

Not through intellectual understanding,

Not because Ekta says so,

Not because Ramana Maharshi says so,

Not because the Advaita Vedantic text says so,

But I recognize,

Yes I am the witness.

How many of us have reached this understanding that I recognize I am the witness experientially in my experience?

Yes,

Even if it is a glimpse,

It's not going to be continuous.

That's okay.

Yes.

At this level,

You start recognizing also that I am creating my universe.

Yes.

Right now at Advaita level 2,

This part is intellectual,

Not experiential yet.

So I am creating my universe.

How?

Just through a little sankalpa,

A like or a dislike.

Through that I start lusting for it,

Means I want it more or I don't want it.

And that constant repetition in the mind itself is the karmic impression that creates that particular situation to manifest in my life.

Even if it is as simple as just a yearning to eat chakubar ice cream.

Yeah,

That I manifest.

I manifest things moment to moment to moment to moment.

I am creating this.

Yes.

Some of us only understand this intellectually.

Some of us have progressed where we really started seeing this.

Yes,

I am doing this moment to moment to moment to moment.

That's fine.

Yeah,

You're still at Advaita level 2.

That's good.

So are we here?

Have we recognized this?

Yes,

Perfect.

And then some of us have progressed to Advaita level 3 where experientially I know that I the awareness,

I the witness,

I project my mind,

I project this body every morning and the moment the eyes open,

Ears can hear,

I project this world.

And every night I go back into bed,

I first shut off the world.

Then for a while the mind is on in the dream state and then I shut off the mind also and then I go into myself,

The pure witnessing.

Where there is the experience of absence of things,

Absence of objects,

Where there is only experience of blankness.

So getting to this level,

To this understanding is Advaita level 3.

Nidhi bhiaasa.

At this level some of us are there and I understand some are not there.

Don't worry.

From here on after the session gets over,

We will plan a proper curriculum for people who want to move from Advaita level 2 to level 3 in their experiential understanding,

Not intellectual.

Not just listening but actually recognising it in reality,

Moment to moment to moment.

That how am I projecting?

How?

Yes,

You have already understood it really.

A part of you already knows it.

Which part of you is the one that is not understanding it?

That ego that is shaking,

That says,

Oh I have created this world.

It's all going to disappear.

No,

No,

It is not going to disappear.

The enlightened person also has the same family that he had before he was enlightened.

The enlightened person has the same job that he had before enlightenment.

Nothing changes.

Before enlightenment,

I cut wood and I carry water.

After enlightenment,

I cut wood,

I carry water.

Nothing changes.

Just my perspective of how I look at this world,

How I look at this body,

How I look at the mind,

That changes.

I recognise in truth who am I.

That is enlightenment.

So none of your things are going away.

Lots of people have these preconceived ideas because they have heard about the word dispassion so much that they think that they are going to run away to the Himalayas.

You are not going to run away.

Very much in this world with your family members but you will be a happier person because now you are not seeking joy outside.

You have found the fountain of joy within,

The well in which that joy is produced.

Yeah.

So at least at Vaita level 3 we have clearly understood intellectually.

Yes.

Got a little glimpse also here and there through the sankalpas we create.

Perfect.

Only some people must have got to the experiential realisation where yes I am creating and I see it very clearly.

Now the only part which is left is the assimilation with my current family life,

My parents,

My kids,

My spouse,

My work,

My job.

That is where it needs to assimilate.

Do you understand the meaning of assimilation now?

That is the third step.

Nidhidhyasa.

Assimilation in my life as my life is.

I am not going to change my life,

Go run away to the Himalayas to get the third level.

Is this very clear?

Yeah.

Assimilation is the meaning of Advaita level 3 Nidhidhyasa.

Now this will take its own time.

Some people are almost ripe.

Yeah.

They are greenish yellow,

Mangoes.

Almost there.

Just ready to become,

You know,

Get off that tree of Maya.

But some of us will take our time.

Have patience.

Don't worry.

I am with the raw ones also equally as I am with the ripe ones.

No partiality from my side.

Yeah.

So however long it takes,

We will continue the journey.

Okay.

Thank you.
