Today on Mother's Day,
Bring your mother to your mind.
She has nurtured you,
Nourished you,
Taken care of you in her prime years.
She has given you a lot of love.
Whether she is here or she has moved on,
She will always hold a special place in your heart.
With a heart full of gratitude,
Pray that all the merit that you got from today's kriya goes towards your mother.
This is the best payback that you can do for your parents.
It is called pitra rin.
In your mind,
Bowing down to the feet of your mother,
We will say,
Ohm,
Take a deep breath in.
Ohm.
Another deep breath in.
Ohm.
Another deep breath in.
Ohm.
Another deep breath in.
Ohm.
Take a deep breath in and out.
A deep breath in and relax.
A deep breath in and out.
A deep breath in and out.
And when you feel complete,
Very slowly and gradually open your eyes.
Happy Mother's Day.
Today in the prayer,
I use the word pitra rin.
What is pitra rin?
Towards the ancestors,
We have a rin.
What happens when a person dies?
When a person dies,
The soul with all its impressions,
It's like a collapsed balloon.
It's a balloon,
Why?
It has lots of impressions.
The strongest impressions of raga and duisha hold on to that balloon.
And that soul then chooses its mother or father and comes back.
You choose your own mother and father.
So you have chosen your mother.
The rin that you had towards her,
That is what made you her child.
It's not easy to pay back.
You give her big house,
Money,
Is that enough?
Give her a big car,
Give her lots of diamond jewellery,
Is that enough?
Material things cannot pay back this rin.
The only way you can pay her back is through the merit of your sadhana.
Lots of people come and ask me,
Oh I've been meditating for so long.
It's been one year in Art of Living,
Two years.
But I don't experience that deep meditation that I think others do.
People keep on sharing their experiences.
But I don't feel it,
Why?
Because the initial few merits of your sadhana go to your parents.
It's an automatic thing,
An automatic transfer.
You pay back your pithra rin.
You have to so meditate.
At least for this reason that oh I have a big rin from my mother and from my father.
Remember this.
And it's also their parents,
Your grandparents,
They are also responsible for you coming.
So when you meditate,
Your merit goes automatically towards your ancestors.
Depending on how much payback is still remaining.
So pay it back.
Meditate.
Come what may.
Take that time everyday.
15-20 minutes I sit down and meditate.
When I am peaceful here,
I send out peaceful vibrations.
Not only in this material world but in the world which is beyond this physical realm of existence.
And when it moves towards that realm of existence,
That other dimension.
First it touches my own ancestors,
My pithras.
So that is why meditate.
Because the merits of your meditation go to your mom and to your dad.
If they have moved on.
And even if they are here and now.
Maybe your parents are reluctant to come into spirituality.
Maybe you have tried really hard to convince them and they are still not interested.
It's okay.
You can still meditate and pass on your merits to them.
So today is day.
Again in the evening you meditate.
Just with mom in the mind and gratitude in the heart,
Just sit and meditate 15-20 minutes.
This meditation is completely for you mom.
You don't have to go and tell her that I meditated for you.
True seva is that which is not even spoken about.
Which is just within.
So today,
Once in the evening meditate for your mom.
You can do your cake cutting and your going out for dinner and all that jing bang that you want to do.
But really what pays back the rent is meditation.
Happy Mother's Day again.
