In this talk, Ektaji discusses how to navigate through the maze of emotions that cloud our mind, most of the time, by using and implementing spiritual knowledge to move to a peaceful state of mind, regardless of people, situations, and things happening in our lives. She goes on to say that this skill has to be developed and used by each of us individually, using spiritual knowledge, to stay in rational thought and not just react, through the process of Swadhyay (self-study).

Jai Gurudev.

Jai Gurudev.

Observe the state of your mind right now.

How is it?

Calm.

Like this blank sheet of paper.

Yes,

Absolutely calm,

Quiet,

Blank.

How was it before you came here?

All over the place.

All over the place,

Like this.

All emotions.

These are all clouds.

We carry clouds of emotions with us,

Don't we?

Only if thoughts had colors,

We would really know.

Oh,

You know,

I can see an orange color cloud there.

Oh,

I see a red color cloud there.

Red would be anger probably.

Orange would probably be greed.

Green would be jealousy.

It would be so easy to identify.

Oh,

Right now I am in this state of mind.

But it's not there.

But we still have these clouds,

Don't we?

We're carrying these clouds constantly.

What does Kriya do?

Beautiful.

You go through these.

It's like a maze inside you.

And you find peace somehow.

Isn't it?

Yes.

But this is for these 15-20 minutes that you do for short Kriya everyday.

Or this one and a half hour that you do long Kriya on the weekend.

What about the rest of the time?

How do you find this way through the maze?

Is it happening?

No?

Then something is lacking in your effort.

What is it?

If it's only happening during Kriya and not happening the rest of the day or the rest of the week,

Something is lacking.

Correct?

What is that?

It's a breath.

You cannot breathe Ujjayi breath throughout the week.

Correct?

24-7.

So it is something else.

What is it?

Sincere effort.

Effort for what?

Being in the present.

Is it being in the present?

Okay.

What is all that called?

Being in the present.

Making efforts.

What is that called?

Under one umbrella.

What is it called?

What is it called?

Sartman.

Perfect.

Knowledge.

Gyaana.

Spiritual knowledge is equally important in the happiness program or the part one course or the basic course.

Guruji didn't give you just the Kriya.

It would be done in three days.

No?

Why did we do a five day program?

Because it was interspersed with spiritual knowledge.

Yeah?

Spiritual means?

About me.

About my mind.

About my emotions.

So both was given to you.

And both is required.

Now making that effort to implement that knowledge again and again will help you again go through this obstacle race.

Dodge all these negative emotions and reach the peace.

That also comes through Gyaana.

Gyaana means knowledge.

And that Gyaana leads to peace.

What does this exercise,

Open eye exercise,

This is right?

Gyaana,

Applying the knowledge.

What does it do?

It helps me become more and more rational and objective towards people,

Situations and things in my life.

Yes?

I am not always bogged down by emotions.

At work a difficult situation could come up.

But if you get all emotional,

You will ruin even what you could have,

You know,

Done productive or done something good about it.

You see what I am saying?

At home a turbulent situation can come up.

But if you are again lost in these clouds of emotions,

What will happen?

Again there is chaos.

Are you seeing what I am saying?

Being able to manage life,

Whether at work or at home,

With friends,

Family,

With other,

You know,

Your social gathering,

Wherever you are,

Requires a skill.

And this skill can be developed only by you.

Yes?

Guruji can teach you Sudarshan Kriya.

Can Guruji teach you the skill of handling this internal drama that is going on?

He can just give you the knowledge.

Applying the knowledge is your job.

Are you getting this?

If you want your internal environment clean,

You have to pick up the soap and start cleaning.

Beautiful soap.

So nice.

It's sitting in your showcase for years.

No use.

Apply the soap of knowledge to clean this dirt of the mind.

It's very important.

That will lead to you being able to think rationally,

Come what may.

Whether a turbulent situation at home,

Turbulent situation in social circle or at work,

You will learn to think rationally because the sword of jnana has sharpened your intellect.

You remember the olden days how they used to sharpen your knives with another sharp instrument.

Jnana is like that sharp instrument that actually sharpens your intellect.

You learn to apply the knowledge when it is most required in life.

Yes?

Otherwise jnana is like spiritual weekend entertainment.

I watch Gurudev's video.

Very nice.

Clap.

Very nice.

Guruji spoke beautifully.

What's the point?

You're not going to get anything out of clapping for him.

You see what I'm saying?

Unless you dive in and implement it on your own self.

That implementing will lead to this rational thought.

Then moment to moment,

Every situation I'll be able to think clearly without these clouds of emotions.

Yes?

And this is called Swadhya,

Self study.
