AD SE - Ch 6.3 Fixing The Attention On The I Principle (2)
by Ekta Bathija
Listen to Ektaji guide us through a self-exploration meditation, "Fixing The Attention On The I principle Part 2", from Chapter 6 of Atmananda Krishna Menon's book Atma Darshan. By fixing attention on the "I" principle, thought is observed as constantly moving and feverishly measuring-good/bad, right/wrong thus creating duality. Measurement requires a static point, so thought invents an immovable center, the "I" thought. From this arise memory, time as the gap between thoughts, space as the gap between perceptions, and causality as a story ignoring randomness. Time, space, and causation are thought-creations born of insecurity. By silently observing the arising and dissolving of perceptions in the NOW, the movement of thought subsides. When the illusory "I" collapses, attention rests in pure awareness-timeless, spaceless, causeless- revealing truth as love and compassion.
