Listen to Ektaji guide us through a self-exploration meditation, “The Beyond Is Calling! ” from Chapter 4 of Atmananda Krishna Menon's book 'Atma Darshan'. Sit by a window and let the gaze dissolve into the horizon, noticing attention oscillate between names and forms and formless infinity. By inverting the angle of seeing, there is emptiness; invert again, there is wholeness. Consciousness and unconsciousness are seen as thoughts. Dis-interested, dis-hypnotized, dis-entangled, the captivation with the world and the fake “I” dissolves. Beyond noise and silence, beyond inner and innermost, shining in its own glory, the beyond stands revealed.

Let's do a self-exploration meditation on Atma Darshan,

Chapter 4.

For this self-exploration,

You will have to sit in front of a window.

Take a moment to move closer to the window and look outside.

Instead of looking at something specific,

Take your attention far away,

As far as the horizon,

And allow your gaze to get lost into infinity.

Simply stare into infinity.

When you are not engrossed with a particular name or form,

You are simply staring into infinity.

Simply be with infinity.

Notice how the attention fluctuates between the formlessness of infinity and the objects with name and form.

Notice that the domain range of attention is limited by formlessness at one end and form at the other end.

Notice that the domain range of knowledge is limited by zeroness at one end and fullness at the other end.

Invert the angle of seeing and you see formlessness.

Invert it back and there is form again.

Invert the angle of seeing and you see zeroness,

Shoonyata.

Invert it back and there is fullness,

Poornata again.

Are the following realizations your direct experience?

I am beyond both form and formlessness.

That is why I know both form and formlessness.

I am beyond emptiness and fullness.

That is why I know both emptiness and fullness.

Attempt to invert the angle of seeing to go beyond that which is addressed as the I.

Are you able to invert the angle of seeing to such an extent where you recognize that you are beyond consciousness and beyond unconsciousness?

Both form and formlessness are simply thought.

Both zeroness and fullness are simply thought.

Both consciousness and unconsciousness are simply thought.

Disinterested in form.

Dehypnotized by formlessness.

Disentangled by fullness.

Disenchanted by emptiness.

Disengaged by consciousness.

Disillusioned by unconsciousness.

Shining in my glory,

I am beyond.

The body-mind-person addressed as I is the first and biggest object of captivation.

Then follows the world.

The entanglement in the world dims the ability to see that consciousness is the truth behind name and form.

The entanglement in the fake I dims the ability to see that the real I lies beyond both consciousness and unconsciousness.

Projection is inside-out.

This means that the inner formlessness projects the outer form.

The so-called objects of the world are simply projected gross thought-forms.

Is there any proof that name and form are independent of consciousness?

Is there any proof that I am not beyond form and formlessness?

Is there any proof that I am not beyond consciousness and unconsciousness?

Invert the angle of seeing the world.

Invert the angle of seeing the I.

Shining in my glory,

I lie beyond.

The world is noise.

The I is silent.

Shining in my glory,

I lie beyond.

When the engrossment with the outer name and form is transcended,

The inner nature of nothingness is recognized ceaselessly.

When the captivation with the nothingness even is transcended,

The innermost nature of being beyond is recognized ceaselessly.

Step beyond.

Transcend from the outer to the inner.

Transcend from the inner to the innermost.

Transcend from noise to silence.

Transcend from silence to that which is beyond.

Come beyond.

The beyond is calling.

Come beyond.

When you step beyond,

You will hear the silence speak.

Attempt to listen to the silence.

Thank you.
