Hello,

Welcome to this yoga nidra practice for grounding.

My name is Eden Sky Orion and I am so honored to be your guide today.

To set up,

Gather anything you need in order to lie down comfortably.

Do what you need to do to feel safe and supported in your space right now.

I would recommend grabbing a blanket to lay on top of you,

As the weight of it will support you in this meditation.

Turn down the lights in your space and turn down the brightness on your screen.

When you're ready,

Lovingly lie down on your back.

Close your eyes and breathe.

Start to notice the way your breath moves in your body.

Begin to elongate your inhales and your exhales.

Slowing down,

Creating more space in your body and in your breath.

With each inhale,

Feel yourself coming more into this moment.

With each exhale,

Sink deeper into stillness.

If you find your mind wandering,

Know that it's completely natural.

This actually does not mean that you're meditating wrong.

It's simply what the mind does.

When you do notice that you've wandered away,

Choose to see that as an opportunity to step back into the present.

Sink back into your breath and fill the space of your being with your full presence.

Bring your awareness to your feet.

Feel the bottoms of your feet,

The balls of your feet,

Your heels,

And the curve of each arch.

Feel each toe and the space between each toe.

Let's take a moment to honor and appreciate our feet.

In whatever way feels right to you,

Send your feet a little love.

Our feet connect us to the earth.

They move us,

They hold us.

They are a point of sensory connection with the ground.

And thus with all other living beings who walk this earth.

As you take your next breath,

Send its loving life force into your feet with your exhale.

Now bring your awareness to your pelvic floor.

Visualize or feel a grounding cord that extends from the root of your pelvic floor all the way down,

Down into the center of the earth.

Notice what color it appears as to you today.

Notice what materials it's made out of.

And with your next breath,

Send your exhale into your pelvic floor through this cord and into the nourishing soil of Mother Earth.

Know that this umbilical connection from your root to the earth is completely secure.

And at any time in this meditation or after,

If you find yourself feeling ungrounded,

You can touch in with your grounding cord.

And know that you are held by its supportive presence.

Now that we've gathered these grounding tools,

We'll begin the practice of yoga nidra.

Dive into the depths of your heart space.

Call forward an intention for this practice.

If you work with sankalpa,

You are welcome to use it here.

If nothing comes,

You can simply ask for grounding.

We'll now scan through the body.

And as I name each body part,

Take your awareness there.

Fill the space of that body part with your full presence.

And feel it grounded and anchored by your attention.

Begin on the right side of your body.

Bring your awareness to your right thumb.

All of your attention and presence anchoring your right thumb.

Fill your right side with your awareness now.

Now bring your attention to your left hand.

Feel your entire presence grounding your left thumb.

And your left leg.

Feel grounded in your entire body,

Your whole body.

Feel your whole body all together right now.

Feel your full presence pulsing through your entire body.

If you remember the words of your intention,

I invite you to repeat them now.

If you don't remember them,

That's okay.

They have already been felt in and through your entire body and don't need the analytical mind's validation.

Let's dedicate the benefits received from doing this practice today to all of these sentient human and non-human beings who feel unsteady and ungrounded right now.

Energetically sharing this sense of rootedness with them.

The practice of Yoganidra is now complete.

As you begin to emerge from this meditation,

I invite you to feel your feet.

Wiggle your toes,

Circle your ankles,

And allow the awakening of your feet to guide you into sitting up.

Place your feet with purpose onto the ground beneath you.

And feel the sensation of the soles of your feet meeting the earth.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes and enter back into your waking life,

Grounded,

Rooted,

And firmly present in your body and your being.

Thank you.
