In this meditation, I walk you through connecting with hope and joyfulness. In times when it can feel hard to feel hopeful, this meditation can guide you to that feeling again. It's a gentle reminder of how important hope and joy are, no matter what else is happening in the world, or in your life.

Hi,

I'm Elizabeth Cush,

Therapist,

Soul support for highly sensitive women,

And podcaster.

And this meditation is focused on finding hope or connecting with hope,

Because I think we need more hopefulness in the world right now.

So get comfy,

Grab a pillow or a blanket,

Adjust where you are and where you're sitting or lying down,

And settle in.

Take a few slow,

Deep belly breaths,

Breathing in through your nose,

And out through your mouth.

And do that two more times,

Really filling the chest and the belly on the inhale.

And one more,

Just like that.

Notice your feet on the floor.

And feel where your body makes contact with the surface below you.

And just take a moment to appreciate being here right now.

Now bring to mind something you're looking forward to.

What is it about this event or thing that makes you feel good?

Notice how that feeling settles on your body.

Where do you feel that excitement or good feeling inside?

And now bring to mind something in the past that you really enjoyed.

Maybe it was time with a good friend or with your family.

Maybe it was an experience you had all by yourself.

But just let that experience flow through your body,

How it felt to be there.

What about that time made it so enjoyable?

Was it the person you were with?

Was it the place where you were?

Was it something else?

Just hold that feeling a little while longer.

Now can you get in touch with something you feel hopeful for?

What do you notice when you allow yourself to feel hopeful?

Can you hold that hopeful feeling inside while noticing any other feelings that might be arising inside you too?

What does hopefulness feel like in your body?

Are there physical sensations?

A feeling in your heart?

How does it feel to bring hopefulness consciously into your awareness?

Can you stay with that feeling just a little while longer?

And when you're ready,

You can slowly come back.

Come back to your body in the here and now.

Moving gently.

Stretching if that feels right.

And opening your eyes.

Hope is a feeling and sensation that's important to cultivate.

Because when it feels as if there's no hope,

That can be a pretty dark place.

And just remember that you can come back to this feeling any time you choose.

And you can come back and practice.

If it feels hard,

Come back and practice this meditation again.

Well,

Here's wishing you peace and hopefulness.

Thanks for being a part of this meditation community.
