You could do this meditation standing,
Seated,
Or lying down,
Preferably with eyes closed.
Come into yourself.
How are you at this moment?
Are you leaning forward or holding back?
Are you ready or maybe a little bit frenzied?
Sore and tired?
Loose and enthusiastic?
So many moods and temperaments we can hold in one day,
Which is terrific,
Which is yes.
But right now,
You might want to slow down a little.
Letting your breath get deeper in,
Slower out.
Feeling your body settling
with gravity,
Not against it.
Becoming still and more complete.
Noticing outward and drawing inward.
Breathing deeply.
Slowing down,
Slowing down.
Letting your body recharge and heal.
Spine extending with breath.
Stretching through all parts to make them long and loose and limber.
We're going to make a better space for existence within our bodies.
For what is sacred,
Deeper,
Higher,
More mysterious.
We'll make space for all of that within.
This will be a clearing out and a gentle excavation into making of space.
Preparation.
As you breathe,
Notice your skin,
The most exterior of you.
Place of interface with the outside world.
Go along its surface area from spot to spot or in a line,
Just noticing how your skin feels around your body.
Hot,
Cold,
Dry,
Scratchy,
Soft,
Smooth.
You're not giving it a grade.
You're just noticing it qualitatively.
Become attentive and attuned.
Breathing.
Other parts of this outermost layer that you want to slough off literally or figuratively.
Making space,
Making yourself more permeable and even vulnerable to experience.
Letting in mystery.
Letting it flow into you.
Below your skin within muscle structures,
Strength and power and action.
Breathe into that part.
See if you can permit it to rest,
Relax,
And reduce muscle tone.
Opening up.
Letting further penetrate mystery and wisdom,
The powerful existence of the universe.
Letting it in.
Reading it.
Breathing.
When you become distracted,
Just come back.
It's totally normal to get distracted in life.
And the practice is just to come back,
To return to being present,
The current experience and moment.
It's all you have to do.
Your bones and joints.
Understand and imagine them.
Providing structure and solidity to flesh and muscle.
See if you can identify the length and width of some bones.
Sensing them.
Noticing their function and placement.
Let all that mystical energy,
Mystery,
And surprise,
Wonder,
Awe,
And transcendence.
Allow it deep within your bones.
Invite it in.
Breathe it in.
You can imagine the tiniest spot within you,
At your core,
No bone,
No muscle,
Just you-ness.
And your mind's eye go into that spot.
Small from outside and vast within.
The center of you.
Make it cozy.
Make it special.
Make it beautiful enough and true enough.
Make it special.
Make it beautiful enough and true enough.
To invite in the greatest guest.
Open yourself up to that visitor of holiness.
Drawing in.
Inviting in.
All the way in.
Breathing in what is mysterious and profound.
Drawing it in.
Making space.

Draw all of eternity into you,
Just for a moment.
Let it settle in as you breathe.
Wrapping it in layers of bone,
Muscle,
And skin.
Holding it precious inside you,
