So let's begin with the bell.
Just sitting in the feeling of living in a somewhat broken country,
In a world that is cracked and fragile,
And in a self that feels intensely just through the simple act of reading the news.
Using this time to meditate and grow in the awareness that no side has all the truth,
And that moral imagination and a moral universe are complex and nuanced.
And breathing that individuals are in need of healing as are political states,
Countries,
And the world.
And maybe through meditating we'll find something we can do in our corner.
Giving yourself some stillness,
The ability to slow down and just absorb.
To feel your body,
To notice thoughts in your mind and experiences in your spirit.
To try to let them in but not overwhelm you.
Just notice.
There's no right way to feel at a moment of political transformation and uncertainty.
Settling into that.
Inhale to those feelings,
Sensations,
Experiences.
And exhale to offer healing to yourself,
To everyone on all sides.
Healing that we might see that we are all citizens in a shared project.
And it may not seem like it,
But we can share this home.
There is enough for everyone.
My gain is not your loss.
Your loss is not someone else's gain.
Breathe in to a sense of possibility and completeness.
Breathe out for resilience.
That you can endure and thrive.
That we will get through whatever our beliefs.
We created human,
Have resilience.
The ability to persevere and even grow.
Breathe for resilience.
Resilience.
Breathe for resilience.
Resilience.
Let's breathe for grace.
The ability to be loved beyond what we might merit.
The possibility of loving others more than we think we can.
And the grace to think that there might be more goodness in the world than we can see.
Breathe in to grace and extend it to others as you breathe out.
Breathing for grace.
For yourself and all of us.
Let's breathe for compassion.
The possibility of awareness that there is no objective scale of suffering or distress.
That everyone is fighting their own battle.
Going through their own sorrows.
Has their own needs.
Valid needs,
Even if you don't understand them.
Let's breathe for compassion.
Valid needs,
Even if you don't understand them.
And comes to beliefs through honest and good processes,
Even when the beliefs differ from your own.
Breathe compassion for yourself and exhale it for others.
You too need compassion and grace and resilience.
Show yourself some love.
Breathe for healing.
And then for the remainder of this meditation,
Just breathe on those words resilience,
Grace,
And compassion.
Breathe in resilience,
Grace,
And compassion for yourself and offer it out to others.
I'll let you breathe and occasionally say those words.
Resilience.
Grace.
Compassion.
Just breathing it all in and offering it all up as best you can.
Not always easy.
Resilience,
Grace,
Compassion.
For all.
Breathe into that and send it out.
Resilience,
Grace,
Compassion.
Resilience,
Grace,
Compassion.
For me,
For you,
For everyone.
Still breathing.
Still taking it in and giving it away.
As we move forward and out of this time of meditation,
Remember that you can carry resilience,
Grace,
And compassion within.
It's not limited to this meditation.
And more importantly,
That through cultivation of resilience,
Grace,
And compassion,
You can bring healing.
Before we conclude,
Take a moment to set an intention to bring healing in the days,
Weeks,
Months,
And years ahead.
Be a vessel for healing through resilience,
Grace,
And compassion.
