Begin.
Float into your spot.
Let your spirit align with your body so that your mind and psyche are present and embodied.
Coming into your senses.
Hearing,
Smell,
And taste.
Touch,
What do you notice on your skin,
Where you're sitting?
Interface between body and air and seat,
Couch,
Or bed.
Notice what you see,
And when you're ready,
You can close your eyes.
Slowing down,
But not stopping.
Becoming quiet,
But not silent.
More still,
But not frozen.
That little edge of activity is the nature of living.
You wouldn't want to eliminate all of it.
It would be a death.
Throughout any meditation,
Your neurons will fire.
Thoughts will come up.
Be grateful that that's happening,
The nature of brain.
When you can,
Just come back into the fun of your body.
Noticing of my voice.
You take a deep breath just to return.
Settling in.
Getting heavy,
Letting gravity do its work,
And you do less.
Take a moment internally to be proud of yourself that you're taking time to do a goodness,
A kindness for your body and spirit by meditating.
Actually say it.
Thank you.
Breathing,
Coming in.
Getting heavy,
But paradoxically light.
Feeling the rhythms,
Sounds around you,
Rhythms of your body.
And again,
When you drift off past,
Future,
Anxiety,
Regret,
Whatever,
Just come back.
I'm going to spend some time thinking about loved ones.
They could be living or deceased.
People who have offered you gift.
Letting your mind be a little supple.
When I say the word nourishment,
Who comes to mind?
Food,
Water,
Clothing,
Care.
Attention.
What person,
Image,
Or scene comes up when you think of someone nourishing?
It could even be a mythical or fictional character.
What was the gift of nourishment,
Of nurturing?
What was the pearl of the experience?
Accept that gift.
Even if the gift was incomplete or lacking,
Forgive what was missing,
Take in what was given.
Breathe it all in.
We'll move to another.
Who or even what comes up with the word peace?
Someone living or gone.
Real or even imagined.
Filled you with peace,
Offered it to you unconditionally.
Feel that peacefulness in your body.
Maybe your muscles relax,
Calling it.
How did they offer it to you?
What was their stance?
What was the experience receiving peace like?
Take it in.
Let it be absorbed into your muscle and bone,
Flesh and blood.
Third,
Who or what comes up with the word wisdom?
Who gave you wisdom?
A person,
A text,
A spirit.
Whom did you experience wisdom as a gift?
Pearl.
Perhaps you even think about what the wisdom was in addition to the person who offered it.
How you've used it,
Integrated it into your life.
Words,
Just experience.
Take it in,
Wherever it comes.
Grateful to that wise person.
Take a few more moments to bring all of that nourishment,
Peace,
Wisdom,
Let it fill you up.
Warmth,
Gratitude,
Pride.
Take it in.
Deep,
Slow exhale.
When you're ready.
