This meditation guides you to rest in the open, allowing awareness of who you truly are. Using metaphors from nature like the sky, ocean, and space, you imagine yourself as the still, silent observer while thoughts, feelings, and sensations come and go like passing clouds, rising and falling waves, or objects appearing briefly in space around you. As you witness it all without attachment, you tap into a deep sense of equanimity, peace, and freedom. This meditation cultivates the perspective of being the unchanging observer, untouched by the movements of the mind or outside circumstances. You come to see you are awareness itself - open, calm, and profoundly present.

Hello and welcome to this short meditation that will guide you towards experiencing yourself as the observer or the witness.

See if you can find a comfortable position for your body and closing your eyes if that feels right.

Take a deep breath into your lungs witnessing your chest rise and expand and then slowly releasing the breath out.

See if you can bring your awareness to this present moment and all that exists in this here and now.

As you breathe slowly and deeply imagine yourself as the sky fast open and still.

The clouds come and go passing through the sky.

The sky simply witnesses allowing the clouds to be just as they are.

You the witness are the sky and your thoughts and emotions are the clouds.

And in this spacious open-hearted curiosity we can see the clouds passing.

We can acknowledge them and we can let them drift by without judgment.

We can continue to remain a spacious awareness.

The canvas upon which the clouds appear and disappear.

Now shifting your awareness to imagining yourself as the ocean.

The waves rise and fall on the surface but deep down the ocean is still and silent.

The waves do not disturb the oceans peaceful depths.

You are the expansive ocean and the thoughts and feelings are the waves that appear within the ocean.

And we can observe them with openness,

Equanimity,

Knowing ourselves as the calm depth beneath it all.

Remaining still and unperturbed.

Now bringing your awareness to the space that surrounds you.

See if you can witness how the space allows everything within it to simply be.

The walls,

The furniture,

The objects.

Space holds everything in an open allowing way.

The awareness,

The consciousness that you are is that space.

You observe thoughts,

Feelings and sensations without attaching to them.

You can notice them arise and pass while you rest in openness.

See that you are awareness itself.

Witnessing all experience.

Noticing,

Observing,

Allowing everything to unfold just as it is.

Fully present and awake in this moment.

And as you become deeply rooted in this sense of being the observer notice how a sense of peace and freedom arises within you.

Eventually the observer and the observed collapse and merge into one.

Witnessing yourself unfolding in each and every moment.

Inseparable from the space that allows it all and that which falls within that space.

Noticing it all with sense of freedom,

Peace and calm.

See if you can slowly bring your awareness back to your breath.

Taking a more conscious deep breath into the lungs.

Noticing your body and when you're ready you can open your eyes and know that you can return to this state of simply observing throughout your entire day.

I wish you a peaceful day ahead.
