Hello and welcome to this meditation that will guide you towards experiencing yourself both as a wave and a particle.
So initially see if you can find a comfortable position for your body and close your eyes if that feels right.
Begin by taking a few deep breaths to arrive into the present moment and as you're breathing in see if you can imagine your thoughts and emotions like passing clouds in the open sky.
Notice each one.
Acknowledge it and gently allow it to drift by.
No need to attach onto any particular cloud.
Simply observe the clouds come and go but the sky remains open and vast.
You are the spacious sky observing the clouds not attached to any one thought or feeling.
You are open aware presence.
This is the self as wave.
Vast unbounded transpersonal awareness.
When you remain unattached to different parts of your self manifesting as thoughts and feelings you tap into this collective field of consciousness that connects us all.
Timeless and infinite.
Now bring your attention to physical sensations.
Your feet on the floor.
The rise and fall of your breath.
Sense yourself as a unique individual in this specific moment.
This is the self as particle or personal experience anchored in the body.
The self as particle provides focus,
Boundaries and a unique perspective.
It is a snapshot of the wave contained by time and space.
Both the particle and wave are essential and inseparable.
As you breathe deeply see if you can oscillate between your experience of yourself as particle and as wave.
On each in-breath feel your personal self fully inhabiting your body.
And on each out-breath dissolve into transpersonal awareness.
And now as you breathe in deeply imagine you are an oak tree rooted in the earth and open to the sky.
Imagine the different parts of you coming and going like leaves blowing through your branches.
Rising and falling like sap flowing through your trunk.
You remain still anchored in presence.
You are the silent awareness that observes it all.
With yourself as particle centered in your body.
Surrounded by changing phenomena you abide in stillness.
If any part calls for attention visualize taking it gently into your branches like a mother bird holding her young.
Tend to it with care.
Gently let it aside and return to aware presence.
In this moment you can know yourself both as the ancient oak tree and the open sky.
You are focus and openness.
You are uniqueness and universality.
You are personal and collective.
You are the intimacy of embodiment and the infinity of consciousness.
Rest in this presence of the both and.
Whenever you desire grounding and containment you can return to breath and body.
To yourself as particle.
Whenever you desire freedom and openness you can expand into open awareness.
To yourself as wave.
You are always both.
Allow this meditation to renew your trust in the wisdom within.
You always have access to guidance far beyond your individual self.
Allow yourself to listen deeply to this guidance now.
When you feel ready allow this meditation to come to a gentle close.
Returning to the breath and gently opening your eyes.
The invitation here is to carry this compassionate expanded awareness into the rest of your day.
