Hello,
Dr.
Karen here,
And welcome to this meditation on body acceptance for weight release.
This meditation is intended to help you accept the present moment,
Which will open the door for allowing change to occur.
You've likely heard the phrase,
What we resist persists.
Which means,
When you stand in opposition to something,
It tends to become stronger.
Another way of thinking of this,
Is that you see more of what you focus on,
And when you focus on lack,
You will find more lack.
Focusing on what you want,
Implies that something is missing,
And then creating what you do want does not come as naturally.
So,
With this meditation we start to gently nudge ourselves into a place of seeing abundance and fulfillment,
So that your body will feel the deep acceptance you hold for it,
And feel safe to evolve in a natural and loving way.
The truth is that you are the pure potential of the infinite universe.
That you are already perfect,
Already complete,
And already whole.
When you tap into this deep knowing,
The sense of lack dissolves.
Let's start to cultivate that connection to the infinite,
Together,
Now.
Find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down,
In a quiet environment where you won't be disturbed.
Let's take a mindful breath together.
Start with a deep inhale through your nose.
Let your belly extend to fill your lungs.
Hold your breath for a moment after you inhale,
And then push your belly inward to allow all the air to empty from your body.
Feel into your body as you breathe.
Notice your feet resting on a surface,
The aliveness in your hands.
Let your shoulders relax and soften.
Now call into your mind your reasons for wanting to release weight from your body.
Let your mind scan across the various things you tell yourself you will have when you do release the weight.
I will feel more confident.
I will feel lighter.
I will feel free.
I will feel in control.
I will feel powerful.
Choose your reason,
And form an intention.
This may be something you are very clear on.
Or this may be the first time you've really thought about the true reasons you want to change.
Your intentions reflect the feelings you are calling into your experience.
This is your deepest truth.
Say your intention in your mind,
Or aloud.
My intention is confidence.
My intention is freedom.
My intention is lightness of being.
My intention is empowerment.
Now,
Let go of your thoughts.
Let go of all of it.
Of the things you have going on in your life,
The projects scheduled for today,
The tasks you need to complete.
Just let it go.
As you continue to breathe,
Start to call on the intention of acceptance.
What does it feel like to completely accept what is?
There is no need for anything to be different right now.
You are taking a break from striving to change.
You are giving yourself grace to just be.
This is the present moment.
This moment is all there is.
Allow yourself to feel the deep surrender of just being where you are.
And knowing that everything right now is exactly as it needs to be.
Take a moment to absorb what's in your awareness right now.
You may hear sounds in the distance.
Perhaps a car.
Other people in your environment.
Maybe a bird.
Just notice these things without assigning any meaning to them.
Just let them be.
If your mind wanders,
Always come back to your breath.
We're going to spend the next few moments cultivating gratitude for the body we have now with affirmations.
If you feel some resistance to accessing positive feelings around your body,
You're not alone.
Allow this resistance to be there for as long as you need to.
No sensation lasts indefinitely,
And that resistance will start to wane as you acknowledge it and give it space to be.
As the resistance fades,
An openness will emerge to hold the higher vibrations you wish to experience.
Try to be patient with this practice by allowing yourself to be where you are and acknowledge that all the feelings you have are okay.
Let's start the affirmations.
My body is strong and powerful.
It has gotten me to this moment where I am able to sit in meditation and create a vibration of abundance.
It has allowed me to hold my loved ones,
To eat food I love,
To move from place to place,
To see the beauty in a flower,
In a tree,
To hear music,
To laugh,
To cry.
It has been the vehicle for all my experiences in this world,
Positive and negative,
Wanted and unwanted.
Because of my body,
I know what I want.
I know where I'm headed.
I feel spaciousness in this body.
It is a gift to me,
And I want the best for it.
I know that we are all born complete and whole,
And that none of us were born to be separated from love.
Love is my true nature.
I have done nothing wrong.
My body has allowed my life to unfold as it has.
I am so amazed by this body that I have.
I trust my body,
And my body trusts me.
My body trusts that I want to nourish it and support it,
And that I will meet its needs.
Thank you,
Body.
We are on this journey together.
I've got you,
And you've got me.
As you continue to breathe,
Take note of any feelings that came up while listening to these words.
If any of them brought up a sense of peace,
Or if something resonated as truth,
Remember that.
Your body is teaching you how to love it through your feelings.
These feelings are always accessible to you,
And they come from the inside.
We know that we must embrace all of our emotional life to experience our wholeness and become integrated.
Spending some time encouraging the warm feelings that come with this acceptance of ourselves serves this integration.
As we end this meditation,
Remember you can love yourself and want to create change.
This is the natural process of growth,
Which happens in the nourishing warmth of self-acceptance.
Think of the caterpillar that becomes a butterfly.
The caterpillar exists in a space of acceptance even as it creates the cocoon that transforms it.
Every stage of this journey is necessary and welcome.
You also are perfect in every form.
You are perfect now.
You are perfect as you work towards becoming something new.
As you start to come back into the space,
Wiggle your toes a little bit.
Let your neck roll from side to side.
Take a last deep mindful breath.
And exhale with a sigh.
Letting all the air out of your lungs.
Then open your eyes and let the next moment unfold.
