Hello and welcome to this daily simple practice.

It's all about setting your intention to create what you want for your day.

Whenever your day begins and whenever your day ends,

You might even be a night person.

I'm going to go with day and you put in just what period works for you.

Intention is a familiar notion isn't it?

And it can be much more valuable when we pay it full attention.

An intention is a determination to act in a certain way,

To be in a certain way and being able to bring a flow into your being.

It's much more than being about achievement.

It's mindful and it is powerful.

Intention and creating a life well lived.

Interweave with each other,

Creating a pattern that's both desired and emergent,

Like a tapestry.

Life is not an it.

Our lives are dynamic.

We create our life from what we do today,

How we do it and why we do it.

Our life is a gift and to live an intentional life is within our gift and to be intentional requires nothing but a moment of attention.

A moment of attention.

Mindful preparation.

You don't have to be fit as a flea or full of energy or thinking big,

Focused on success.

This practice is simply about fully engaging in your life,

In your living.

Whether you are in best fetal or whether it's one of those days when you're tired and you're being a hermit.

Keep intention simple,

Small stuff,

Easy to fulfill,

Not a test or a challenge or a chore.

Make intention a quick,

Straightforward daily habit.

When you look after the small stuff,

There is no big stuff.

So step into a slightly deeper state of relaxation,

Maybe sitting with your feet flat on the ground,

Maybe lying down,

Feeling the earth some way beneath your body,

Maybe standing,

Maybe even walking.

Be in a state of alert relaxation.

Let your posture be open and to flow out into the world as we move through these three very simple steps.

Ask yourself,

What is it that you want to achieve by the end of today?

Is there a doing,

An action that you want to complete?

Could be anything.

Could be something practical,

Going for a walk,

Reading a book,

Painting the living room,

Dealing with an emotion,

Some type of communication.

Could be anything.

You fill in the gap.

Some days there's nothing concrete to achieve and maybe all that you want from today is a full acceptance of this being the case.

So what do you want today?

Now ask yourself,

What,

If anything,

Might you learn today?

Might you like to learn today?

Could be a skill,

Could be more about a situation,

Could be learning to be open so that you can learn whatever comes your way.

What do you want to learn today?

And let your unconscious mind and your spirit take care of the rest.

Just put the question out there.

Finally,

Ask yourself,

How do you want to end your day?

In what emotional state would you like to be as you get ready for bed?

Try it on,

Embody it,

Feel it.

Notice how you would like your face to feel,

What expression you'd like to be wearing.

Notice perhaps a smooth brow of contentment.

Notice what internal words you'd like to be getting into your bed with.

Notice how you'd like to be breathing,

How you'd like your body to feel.

So you can trust yourself now to pay attention at some level to those three aspects of intention.

What is it that you'd like out of today?

What is it that you might learn today?

And how would you like to finish your day?

And be glad.

Give yourself a little shake,

Stretch yourself out if you want to,

And get ready for that day in which you only engage in that which you value.

A day in which you are intentional.

You can try this every day for a week and just notice what difference it makes,

Both practically and emotionally.

And if it suits you,

Carry on with it.

Make it a short daily habit that can become your full intention for life.

Make it your own.

This is Dr.

Jan Russell.

Thank you very much for sharing this practice with me and I look forward to meeting with you again out here in the universe.

With universal love and peace,

Go well.

This is lovely. Setting intentions isn’t always easy for me. It often feels like i’m adding something else onto an already full plate. This meditation helps to change that. I intend to listen to it often 🙏🏼💖

Loved it! In my current state of “overwhelm”, it simplified day to day life. Instead of completing huge, monumental tasks, I just need focus on each step of the task.
